Libby Spanton Testimonial for Loren Hughes 2017 was not a brilliant year for me medically, I had high levels of cholesterol, low levels of iron and vitamin D and I had to have a hysterectomy. I was weak and puny. I couldn’t even pick up my 2 year old granddaughter. Her parents suggested a fitness coach, and, at first I dismissed the idea. However after thinking about it and looking for a female PT in my area, I was extremely fortunate to meet Loren. She asked me to decide on what I wanted to result from my exercising, and I made a list; 1) Pick up my grandchildren 2) Get rid of my hunched back 3) Get off the toilet or out of the car without struggling I wasn’t interested in slimming down for a wedding, or developing abs, I just wanted to do, with ease, the things I used to do. A year on, I can swing my grandchildren up in the air, move the furniture, turn a large mattress, walk without tripping up. I can manage a high protein diet (which isn’t that easy for a vegetarian who has to avoid saturated fats, and pulses are a source of digestive discomfort). Loren has guided my diet, introduced me to protein shakes, high protein breakfast choices, and using healthy peanut butter instead of real butter. She has shown me how to bend, squat, lift, all with good posture and increasing weights. She plans each session down to the last detail, all activities designed to strengthen all my limbs, back and core. I can do all this, taking into account my age at 71, and that I have painful arthritis in my hands. The immerse variety of exercises that I enjoy each time I see her involves weights, machines, mats, balls, straps and just my own body. I am still doing new things and learning more. I get such amazing pleasure form increasing the strength and dexterity I have in my body. I can do things such as sit ups and roll ups with ease now, for the first time in my life. I can lift more than my body weight with the power of my legs. The satisfaction of mastering a particular activity and then continuing to increase the resistance week after week is life – affirming. Boditone in Hanham Hall is a great gym. Loren works there with her clients. It’s an all inclusive gym, open to parents with their children, the elderly, the disabled, (very good wheelchair access) and a place where women feel safe. I cannot recommend Loren enough! More...

My daughter has been having 1 to 1 with Sarah, and now my other daughter and I have joined Boditone, Sarah is so positive and encouraging, it makes the whole experience really motivating , very friendly atmosphere and in beautiful settings if the old Hanham hall hospital .
