Find expert Carpet Cleaners on Bark

Whether you have children, pets, or simply need to give your rug a makeover, getting your carpet cleaned is surprisingly effective in bringing a sparkle to your home. But with everything else that needs looking after, tending to your carpet may be the last thing on your mind. So why not hand it over to the professionals? With Bark’s collection of top-quality carpet cleaners, you can be sure to find the right person to get your carpet looking brand new again.

Things to consider before hiring a Carpet Cleaner

When looking through Bark to find the right carpet cleaner, keeping a few things in mind can help guide your decision.

The first of these is the preferred process of carpet cleaning. There are a few different choices available when it comes to cleaning your carpet. Although your cleaner can decide for you, after doing a little research you may have a preference. You will have to consider the correct treatment for your family and pets; having a think before contacting your cleaner can save you some time.

As mentioned earlier, finding a professional that is able to help you with more than just carpet cleaning can be very beneficial – if you so desire. When being quoted, feel free to ask professionals whether there are any other services included in the price. Don’t feel obliged to take additional services if you do not want to, however.

Although Bark helps you find the most qualified and trustworthy professionals to help clean your carpet, it is always worth doing your own research. Finding out how other customers felt about their services should be a priority on your list. Of course, our review system can help you narrow down your options.

The process of Carpet Cleaning

Before carrying out any cleaning services, your chosen professional will make an assessment of your carpet. By doing this, they can determine what cleaning solution is the most suitable. They may also test any cleaning solutions or detergent on a small part of the carpet to make sure the texture and colour stay the same.

As soon as it is confirmed that a particular solution is right for your carpet, they will move onto the actual carpet cleaning process. This will typically involve stain removal and extraction of dirt, followed by the removal of any odours. At the end of it all, you’ll have a carpet that looks brand-new!

What are the different types of Carpet Cleaning?

  • Hot water extraction (or steam cleaning) involves injecting water at high temperatures between the different fibres in your carpet. This avoids the need for strong chemicals - the water mixing with a mild cleaning product is enough to rejuvenate your carpet. It is also good for removing stubborn spills and stains.
  • Dry carpet cleaning is quite the opposite, however, it is still a very efficient way of getting rid of muck, sand and allergens from delicate carpet fibres. It is carried out by using powder cleaning agents (plus a few solvents). A rotating brush is then applied to the carpet. This brush works its way into the carpet fibres and soaks up all the soil contained within.
  • Shampoo carpet cleaning is a very popular solution. As you may have guessed, the solution uses shampoo and only one more item – a brush. After the cleaning solution is put onto the carpet, a brush (either hand-powered or motorised) work its way into the carpet, lifting all debris and dirt.

Do I need a professional Carpet Cleaner?

We can all assume that a good clean will make your carpet look much better. However, there are some other perks that make professional carpet cleaning very worthwhile.

Notably, cleaning your carpet will extend its life span. This is because debris that builds up in your carpet becomes embedded within the fibres of the material. In turn, this ground-in dirt can cause the fibres to split apart, causing serious damage.

As well as having a carpet that looks and feels better, getting a professional carpet cleaner will help family members with allergies. The process of carpet cleaning will strip the carpet of any allergens, making your home instantly less taxing for those unlucky individuals.

And although you may do your best to maintain your carpet, even the hardiest rugs will look old and worn out over time – especially if they receive a lot of foot traffic. A simple professional clean can help to spruce your carpet up and restore some of its former glory.

How much does professional Carpet Cleaning cost?

Getting a professional carpet cleaner is a great investment. In fact the difference it makes when you see the finished result can be a welcome surprise!

So with all of the benefits listed above, you may think that getting your carpets professionally cleaned would be expensive. In fact, getting a carpet cleaner isn’t expensive at all. Many people opt for cleaning multiple rooms due to how cost-effective carpet cleaning is. Add to that the fact that doing it yourself can be very time-consuming, and the choice to hire a professional becomes a no-brainer.

Carpet cleaners will also tend to charge a minimum amount – this is to make it worthwhile for them to come out to you (especially if you only go for one room). You may also pay more if you have tough stains on your carpet or your cleaners have to move furniture before they can start.

Hiring a Carpet Cleaner

So how do you go about hiring your first carpet cleaner? Bark has a fantastic range of specialists that can help you to get your home looking spotless in no time.

You may also be able to find professionals that will not only clean your carpet, but will also include other services, such as window cleaning. Finding a professional is as simple as starting your search and getting a few quotes!

What do you love most about your job?

There are two parts I love most about the job. The first is achieving tangible results within such a short period of time. The before and after pictures are one of the most satisfying parts of the job and we love sharing them on social media for our followers to see. The second is building relationships with our customers. We love interacting with our customers and meeting new people every day, it's what keeps the job interesting for us.

What inspired you to start your own business?

After working & operating in a successful family dry cleaning business that has been established for over 30 years, we decided to diversify into carpet and upholstery cleaning. From a technical standpoint it is quite similar as you are dealing with stain removal from different materials & fibres. Starting your own business also allows you to control the number of hours you work and provides more flexibility to spend time with family.

Why should our clients choose you?

We are honest professionals that want our customers to be happy with our work. By choosing us you are supporting a local family business that will try their hardest to complete the job to your satisfaction. You will never be able to complain that we did not try hard enough or that we overcharged you. All of our customers are left 100% satisfied when we finish our work.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

All of our services are completed on site. Occasionally we may need to take a rug or curtains away for dry cleaning in order to provide the best results. However this will be communicated and agreed beforehand.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

If customers require our team can wear full PPE to minimise the risk of spreading any virus to our most vulnerable customers. Please also make us aware if someone in the household is suffering from any kind illness so we can prepare as required.
