Frequently asked questions

What is a photo booth?

A photo booth is a temporary soft structure of around 2.5m x 2.5m that is set up with a camera facing into it. This then allows the user to take photographs with multiple backdrops; often people will include props and effects as well.

They are a popular guest attraction at parties and events.

Are photo booths easy to use?

Yes, photo booths are designed to be very easy to use. The two main ways of operating them are; to have an assistant who will take the photographs in the booth for you or a setup which allows you to take the photos yourself through a remote button linked to the camera.

Will there be an attendant with the booth?

Naturally, most companies will have at least one attendant with the booth to get it set up and broken down, as well as assist with the running and operation of the booth.

Will I be charged extra for the photos?

No, the vast majority of photo booth operators will not charge you for the photographs and will at the very least provide you with digital copies. If this is ever unclear just be sure to discuss it with them beforehand.

Can photo booths be used outside?

Not usually now as they involve electricity and given the weather in the U.K. there is a high chance of it getting wet. Most photo booths are fine in a marque with a flat floor.

There are certain companies that are equipped to deal with being outside, if this is something you require just ask when speaking with your professional.

How will I receive the images?

Depending on the company you’ll receive your images in one of two ways; digitally (on a USB) or they will be printed out into physical copies on the night.

Most companies offer both so just make sure to discuss it with them before making your decision.
