How long have you been in business?
3 years in Somerset.
I originally swept with my father. Had a career break doing my own thing, and have returned to it recently.
I have lots of experience cleaning, I cleaned industrial premises and sheltered housing, including running a laundry.
I have plenty of handywoman experience in tiling, minor carpentry and plumbing etc. I’m currently completing my NVQ in plumbing
Do you bring your own equipment and supplies?
Yes.
I bring all my own sweep kit, including a special vacuum specifically for soot.
I supply cleaning products, but I’m also happy if customers have their own favourites they would prefer me to use.
For handywoman jobs, I supply my own tools and can also provide any paint, tiles or adhesives etc.
How long have you been in business?
I’ve been in business for 3 years in Somerset, but I have also traded in Sussex in the past in both Handywoman and Cleaning roles

Sweeping comes with a certificate valid term relative to the installation

Meeting people and changing their environment for the better
What inspired you to start your own business?
Relocating to Somerset was the push to change career after a long time in the same role before. I’ve gone back to my roots with a trade.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I always wear a mask for Sweeping.
With cleaning and other things, I’m using gloves and chemicals including disinfectant.
Cloths are used on one property only. So they are always clean at the start of the job.
