Very satisfied with Protec Solar installation .I had 10 panels a battery and inverter installed by them . I have had it for 3 months now and wanted to see my electricity bill before I wrote a review . My bill has dropped down by about 80% more or less what I was told .I have always wanted solar and am very pleased that I have finally done it . The blokes that did the installation were very polite and tidy . I have seen their vans at Bodmin Rugby Club each time I drive past nice to deal with a local company . I had a few questions during and after it was fitted and all the people I spoke to were extremely helpful and on a couple of technical aspects they got back to me very quickly very good customer service I can happily recommend them and their work . We bought solar panels and a battery system from Protec. The installation went well and the system is very good. However the sales agents will say anything to get your business and offer false promises for example free solar panel cleaning and having your system moved for a fixed sum if you move property. They have now backed out of this as it's not in our contract despite having emailed proof. The after service is very poor. The solar panel team are never available when phoning and never call back when asked, lots of chasing up. They promised to get our DNO certificate done within 2 weeks of installation so that we could export electricity back to the grid. Months went by with nothing happening and it only got done when I took it over myself, it only took 2 weeks then! We missed out on a good amount of exporting during good weather. More...

This type of insulation is not universally accepted. The Company Surveyor answered all my questions and convinced me it would resolve the problems in my loft (without adding to them) and has promised to return in a few months and repeat the survey to prove it to me. I can't express how lovely Tom and Graham were. They went above and beyond to help and make it stress free for us. They were honest that our roof was too wet and told us they wouldn't be able to do the job that day. They organised for a dehumidifier to be brought out the next day. While they were in my loft, they ask if I would like them to bring down my very large collection of Christmas decorations down. I was so greatful to them as they didn't have to do it. Excellent service from start to finish. I only had to wait a couple of days for my survey. Ben was very helpful, the ultimate professional, he took time to answer my questions and gave me a detailed explanation of the process of installation & reassured me about my concerns. He assured me that I would definitely find the house would be warmer and it certainly is. He was right! 3 days after my survey, Tim & Craig arrived to install the synthesis spray foam & remove the old fibreglass insulation. Both were again, professional friendly and very efficient. My documents arrived on time 2 weeks later as I had been informed they would. I cannot fault the service I received. Before choosing Protec, I had done a lot of online research and felt reassured by what I had read. We chose Protec for our solar system despite the fact that they were more expensive than a couple of the other quotes we had. We were convinced by the accreditations that they offer and the fact that they are a local company with a solid reputation. I want to say publicly how fantastic these guardian angels are in a moment of crisis. My knights in shining armour. Driving past their office on a dangerous bend, my tyre burst. Went in to ask for someone to call. The man came out straight away, called another guy and together they changed the tyre using the spare, and saw me safely on my way. Kind, gracious and cheerful they refused the money I offered. I will most likely never see these guys again but they are a credit to Bodmin and I'll never forget them. Personally very underwhelmed. They use not too subtle sales techniques eg. If you have the insulation work done on a date they give you the price of the job can be done for much less than on another day which may suit you. Further “pressure” was then applied when I was told there were only 2 spaces left so it would have needed to be done at four days notice. I asked the surveyor to email his readings/findings along with the quote before making a final decision - no email was sent. The surveyor told me there was evidence of damp in the roof space but did not show me any evidence, he also said if the work was not done soon I could face extensive cost to do roof repairs and gave me ridiculous high price estimate for this work.
