I came to Karen with a dog reactive Shepherd cross. Within minuites Karen had her behaving and ignoring other dogs, to the point I think Karen may have thought I made it all up. I now feel much more confident I am on the right path to progression and have added the correct basics to better manage when she does react to other dogs. Unfortunately both my dogs were aggressive towards her and she was unable to assess them. I would have thought a trainer may have suggested taking out separately or for me to walk in the garden whilst she stayed at a distance and guide me what to do. A few tips but no different to what I have read on line. More...

contacted Paws In Training as the new owner of a Romanian rescue puppy. I have owned dogs all my life but rommie rescues come with in built issues that I have never encountered before. I desperately want to do right by the dog so made sure I got expert advice. I now realise it's going to be a long and difficult road ahead but I am prepared and willing to give Laika the best life possible and to hope one day she can become less fearful of the outside world. We have had several group sessions with our new rescue dog Buster. She is very good at training us to do and say the right thing to help set boundaries and work on his recall. He has come on leaps and bounds. She gives good feedback and gives hints on what to practice on at home. It all about enforcing the message and being consistent and she helps us realise where we were going wrong. We are hoping that after a few 1-2-1 sessions that we might one day be able to let him off the lead with confidence. More...

What do you love most about your job?
Solving a problem that the owner has with their pet. Often it is because the dog has not grasped what behaviour is required or they are reacting to a trauma they have had and not been shown how to overcome the fear they feel. A happy dog is an understood dog.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Working with dogs since the age of 13yrs. Training/grooming/breeding/behaviour. I like to feel I have helped a dog adjust to the lifestyle they have got.
Why should our clients choose you?
Each dog is an individual and no dog is trained in exactly the same way, it depends on the temperment of the dog which fair method I use. I am available between visits - if more than one is needed - on either the telephone or email to answer questions.
Residential Training
Residential training is from 2-6 weeks. You dog will live with your trainer in their own home and experience a bespoke training package as devised between you and the trainer. Your dog will receive multiple training sessions and a social walk each day, while also socialising with my dogs. They are never left alone nor spend hours crated.
A handover session and ongoing support offered when the training period has finished
Email and telephone support offered for up to a year after the dogs stay.
Can collect and deliver for extra cost.
Price is £1,600 with a 14 day minimum stay, which covers more minor problems.
Most popular stay is between 3/4 weeks to iron out more difficult issues.
121 training
Dog training sessions at a location of your choice for ease of training with or without distractions
Relationship building and rewards based training for all basic to advanced standards for any age puppies or dogs from 12 weeks and to the more elderly dogs.
Sessions last up to 90 mins.
Price varies according to distance from Bordon GU359EZ
Working South East England but can travel Nationwide.
Behaviour Modification
Behaviour problems can start at any age and can be solved with the correct approach for any dog, different methods for different dogs and problems.
Very experienced with reactive and fearful dogs, aggression problems dealt with swiftly and advice on how to continue with the advice offered, is always available via phone or email contact. Several session may be needed or just one.
Session time has no limit as it depends on the presenting problem but usually 2/4hours.
South East England including London.
