Cliff was absolutely smashing. His very competitive price made him stand out, but his quality of service was anything but cheap. He took plenty of wonderful, high-quality photos for our event. We had booked him for 2 hours, but when he learnt that the event's main attraction (a casino) was only going to open after he finished, he stayed longer to take some great photos of guests enjoying the casino - at no additional cost! He was also happy to take photographs for us even though the event coincided with his birthday!As well as taking some fantastic photos, he complied with all our requests for different invoices, public liability insurance certificates etc.. He processed the photos very quickly following the event and put them online on a very accessible platform where guests can view them, download them, upload them to Facebook and purchase physical prints.Overall, Cliff is an outstanding photographer who offers his services at such a great price. Cliff took our wedding photos for us and we couldn't have asked for a more thoughtful and considerate photographer. He was a lovely addition to our wedding, taking care to capture all the shots we wanted, whilst not being overbearing (like some photographers i have witnessed at other weddings). What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
There are many tricks of the trade, but perhaps the most important is to take your time. Pause, and try to look at the scene you're shooting as an image, not just a view through the viewfinder. Also, never use a wide-angle lens to shoot a portrait!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Many clients already have a clear idea in mind when they talk to me, so I'll try to find out what inspires them, and what sort of pictures they want to see as a result. Other times, I may have to prompt their creativity by getting them to look at photos of similar events or projects, and see if anything jumps out at them.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the freedom, the creativity, and meeting new and interesting people from all walks of life. I've photographed chefs, rappers, brides, children, and even animals!
What inspired you to start your own business?
After many years working as a photography journalist, I decided I'd rather be taking pictures than writing about it.
