I'm an experienced and successful musician (ex Annie Lennox and Take That). I offer expert, inspiring and versatile piano tuition for ages 6 to 96! You (or your child) can learn classical pieces, pop songs and much more. Please take a look round my website for more information.

ABOUT ME:
I started playing piano 'by ear' at the age of 5. I later studied classical piano for some years with a Royal Academy professor, working my way through all the grades and winning a classical piano competition.

In my teens, I started playing electric keyboards (electric piano, synths etc.) and by the time I was 20 had gained extensive playing experience with a great many bands and musicians.

I became a fully professional musician in 1988. My career has since taken me around the world, playing keyboards and piano with many acclaimed artists, including Annie Lennox, Take That, Gary Barlow and, most recently, Jeff Lynne's ELO.

I have many years experience teaching piano. I use the best elements of traditional approaches combined with my own methods to help students realise their greatest musical potential. I teach beginners to advanced.

ABOUT LESSONS:
I aim to make every piano lesson a fun and uplifting experience! My teaching is always shaped to suit the unique goals, preferences and aptitudes of each student, and I'll do everything in my power to support my students.

My diverse experience as a professional musician enables me to teach different styles of playing (eg. classical, pop, jazz...).

Lessons are fun AND all important aspects of piano playing are given due attention, including note reading, playing-by-ear, chords, harmony, technique, scales, arpeggios, posture, improvisation, rhythmic awareness and more.

I recommend 30 minute lessons for my youngest beginner students. Longer lessons are advised for all other students.

I have an 'Enhanced DBS' certificate.

Please note I offer visiting lessons only, meaning I travel to you and give the lesson in your home.
