I have a bullmastiff puppy. I was so nervous going there because she's so big and having behavioral issues. These amazing ladies made me instantly feel comfortable and were so good with my pup. I mean she's 100 lbs, and has jumping issues, the trainer didn't bat an eye. She helped me with our issues and showed me to help keep the training going. Love this place!! More...

We've been taking our Daisy to Zoom Room since she was 5 months old. Zoom Room has always provided a positive learning environment. We've taken classes with Chandra, Patrick and Jaimi, and they are all fantastic! In addition to the obedience classes, I highly recommended taking the agility classes too. In Daisy's first agility class, she was afraid of a lot of the equipment, but after 3 or so classes, she was able to jump through tires, run through the tunnel, and walk up and down the A frame and dog walk. I think agility classes really build up her confidence. I highly recommend taking both obedience and agility classes concurrently. More...

My dog Mariner and I have coming here for about 2 months and I have to say it was the best decision I've made! My dog is deaf and the trainers always helped me on how to work and communicate with him. The classes also strengthened the bond between Mariner and I. Also Mariner loves the classes! he's always so incredibly excited whether it be agility, obedience, or trick class. They do such a great job, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new with their dog! More...

I have a large, energetic, curious, smart, strong, protective dog with a very loud bark. Neo can be frightening to people who don't know him, despite his actual sweet nature. The work we have done with the help of Zoom Room trainers has developed our skills, trust, and confidence. On a hike, Neo's leash slipped away from me but he left alone another dog, child, and man on the trail immediately to return to me when I used the emergency recall that we developed with Zoom Room.Neo has also stopped barking at neighbors on the other side of the fence when I tell him to "leave it"- another result of the successful training strategies taught by the Zoom Room staff. We both have fun when we attend our classes and have developed a stronger bond through our work there. It is clear that the trainers care about the dogs and their owners and they are quick to celebrate successes. More...

The Zoom Room, especially our trainer Chandra, was critical for the rehabilitation of our Korean rescue dog. The training provided by this specific establishment has established the affectionate and inquisitive dog we know today. It's impossible to comprehend the horrors our puppy may have endured within the Korean meat trade, but the behavioral adjustment is noticed by neighbors and owners familiar with his progress. Today, the fearful yelps of a traumatized animal have been replaced with the barks of an overjoyed puppy. The challenge of overcoming this significant mental and physical trauma was patiently developed by Chandra personally. Today, our puppy bravely accompanies us on hikes, errands, and even day trips to the beach. The compliments we receive on our puppy are always accredited to the Zoom Room. We are thankful for their dedication to the second chance we strive to maintain daily. And thank you so much Diego for providing this opportunity. Your input was crucial in Púca's socialization. Our Minnie, sometimes referred to as "Meanie" by some of our friends, needed training and we are so glad we found the Zoom Room in Sherman Oaks. We met with Diego and after a private evaluation , he along with Chandra built a plan for us.  We have seen a night and day change with Minnie. Chandra took her time with us, provides us with the tools necessary to make a change in Minnie's behavior. She took the time to understand what Minnie needed and made sure that with positive reinforcement, she was able to learn.  We took all the class lessons to heart, did our homework, and after a few weeks Minnie is a new girl. Our family and friends have also seen the changes and are no longer scared of seeing Minnie coming their way.  We are very happy with all the great work that Chandra, Diego and the rest of the team are doing. I love Zoom Room and can't recommend it enough! We started going March of this year (2019). I've never had a puppy before and I've never trained any animal before. To start off, the staff and the instructors are all fabulous: friendly, patient (with both dogs and humans), professional, and fun. They explain everything very clearly and will be more than happy to repeat themselves a million times during the classes until you get it right. I started off with Puppy 2 Obedience and I just really love the class structure. It's so convenient that I just sign up for the class whenever I'm able to make it because I have a busy work schedule. We had Chandra for two out of the 3 Puppy 2 Obedience classes we went to and she is an absolute Queen of an instructor. Not only did we learn all the skills as described for that class, but Chandra always gave us the opportunity to ask individual questions about our own dogs behavior and how to correct it if it was an issue. When class was over we could also go up to Chandra and ask more questions or clarify anything that was taught. Another thing I think is great is that if your puppy has an accident it is perfectly fine. They have all the necessary equipment to quickly and easily clean it up while barely interrupting the lesson. I think it's also very sweet that they assure the puppy and the owner that it's not a big deal and accidents happen. In general if your puppy is ever struggling with a certain command or task, we are always assured that it is ok and that every dog learns at different speeds and to try it next time! We are now taking "Adult" Agility and Obedience classes and are still having fantastic experiences in this class. Incredibly patient instructors (even when my puppy was nervous about going through a tunnel), a fun environment for both myself and my puppy to learn, and always a very organized and professional handling of all matters. Thank you Zoom Room! More...

The Puppy Preschool class makes instructions clear and easy to follow, as Chandra tells us what to do along with the reasons for each direction, which helps me absorb the information. Diego is always accommodating when we need to add a Private Gym at the last minute or need to change our time. There are great treats there too in case you forget to bring yours for a training session. Sadie (our dog) said to mention her favorites Vital Essentials (the chicken is so good, that it creates a waggable whirlwind). WE as two-legged love the fact that there is a safe place to play, learn and enjoy with our k-9 family member. Sadie as a four-legged (dog) would move in if she could. Zoom Room has been a great experience for my super anxious, super athletic rescue pupper! Mickey is VERY afraid of strange objects and strange dogs. These classes have given him the opportunity to conquer his fears of each of the course obstacles in a safe, constructive environment... with tons of positive reinforcement!! Since we started classes, he is so much more confident and social around people that he doesn't know very well. And as a bonus, both his leash manners, and his attentiveness to commands in everyday life have improved dramatically. The often vocal "office dogs" have given us a chance to improve his focus on me, even when other dogs are barking at him. But most importantly... Mickey LOVES running the agility course!! If he is feeling particularly pleased with himself, he'll take a victory lap on his favorite part of the course, just because.Highly recommended! Worth every penny. More...

My wife and I started taking our dogs to Zoom Room a couple years ago and we recently found ourselves with a Golden Retriever that my wife adopted from a friend.  Her name is Tully.  Due to the fact that my wife works in the "dog" biz and we currently have 5 dogs, it was important for us to get Tully into training and really try and bond with her since she came to us at 4 months old.  Since then we have taken her to obedience and currently are doing the agility classes with her.  The dogs in the classes are generally well behaved and able to get along with other dogs.  If your dog needs special attention or doesn't do well in groups, I suggest setting up one on one training.  Also, be on time.  If you are late they could not let you into class.  So far, for what we need, Zoom Room has been perfect.  They help you to bond better with your dog and teach you tips and tricks to help your dog be a better all around canine citizen.  I feel like the trainers are awesome, the front desk lady is helpful and more importantly my wife and dogs like attending the classes.  I give them kudos for holding people accountable for being late, as a late arrival in class can cause all of the other dogs who have settled in to lose concentration.  I think that Zoom Room is pretty awesome, and our dog does too! I rarely write reviews, but after doing so much research online looking for the right dog training facility, I thought I could help others.  Zoom Room is such a great concept and so simple. I don't like being stuck in a traditional class for 6 or 8 lessons if my dog is ready to move up and Zoom Room allows for that. You go at your own pace and graduate to the next level as soon as you're ready. No wasting money to be taught the same thing over and over.  I have had both private lessons and group classes with Chandra, who seems to really connect with all the dogs and gets so much out of them. I recently adopted a puppy who currently has been having a hard time listening, which is expected. I decided to go with the Zoom Room based on the Yelp reviews and so far I'm glad I did. A puppy can be overwhelming, especially when they are at the I do what I want stage. I like the Zoom Room concept which allows me to learn with my dog as well as allows her to interact with other dogs. All the classes are available for you to sign up for, which allows for flexibility. They also offer private sessions for those that may require extra help, which is great in case your puppy doesn't do well in a group setting. The trainers have been great so far and willing to answer and help with any questions I may have. My puppy has had a couple accidents and the trainers were completely understanding, which I have appreciated. They provide a clean up corner with supplies for those moments. My dog still has a bit of work to do, however I can tell she enjoys being there and interacting with the other dogs. More...

We love Diego and all the trainers at Zoom Room.  They're very helpful, love dogs, and bend over backwards to help.  I don't understand the last two negative reviews, we've never experienced or seen a problem. We watched them calmly deal with an aggressive owner/puppy just this morning and our puppy is no cake walk.  But he has the time of his life there and slowly but surely they are helping to train him into a perfectly happy well behaved puppy.  Worth every penny!!! We absolutely LOVE Zoom Room!! We have been taking our 6 month old puppy (Louis) to zoom room ever since he was 14 weeks. We absolutely loved puppy preschool and obedience with Chelsea. Not only did our puppy learn so much but so did we! She is super attentive, informative and our pup LOVES her too. We are now in obedience 2 and are looking forward to trying some agility classes as well. All of the staff members we have worked with and encountered have all been so nice and great. Updated review given Sarah and Chelsea's awesomeness (!) and efforts to help us with the CGC certificate. Sarah, the manager, reached out to me after learning that I was frustrated and confused with the CGC test. She was super attentive and e-mailed and called me until we were able to nail down a time to come in for the test. Chelsea was great, as usual. She was firm and supportive during the test and we passed! For those looking for training, Zoom Room is fantastic. The staff are wonderful, warm and chill. Minus one star for the confusion regarding the CGC test. The website advertises that training is offered for the test. It can be misleading. There are no details about how the test is scheduled, or costs. More...

So glad I found this place!! I've done private lessons and group lessons with 2 of my dogs and it's helped so much. They teach me what to do and it's my job to do the work at home consistently, which I need to get better at. The "watch me" command is great for getting your dogs attention back to you rather than what sets them off. Just need to be consistent with training. Weekly, I take one of my dogs to agility. It mentally and physically tires him out. Wish I could come more than once a week. My dogs love EVERYONE that works at Zoomroom! More...

As a new puppy owner we were overwhelmed with choices where to take our girl to begin training. Not only did Ellie learn the basics quickly, but the puppy play sessions are fantastic. Now Ellie is 10 months old and a very good girl. A large part if that is from the training she receives at ZR. We even rented the place recently for her and two of her friends for an hour during a 3 day rain spell here in LA. More...

Not a single complaint coming from me!The staff show amazing customer service skills and truly love dogs also. Reagan, Lenny, and I are greeted by name every time. The puppy obedience classes were fun and informative. Each class starts with puppy playtime, which teaches you how to identify and deter signs that may lead to less enjoyable or calm dog park interactions. The instruction and overall class material was great. The instructor also took time each class to listen to each owners struggles and help offer solutions. Weekly handouts/homework were provided so you could continue to teach your pup new things outside of class. Overall, the class was helpful and I would recommend it to anyone with a puppy. More...

I love this place! After having a trainer come into my home to evaluate my dog (who literally barks at every stranger that looks at him) she suggested I get him in agility classes to help with his confidence and work his mind. I came in and was evaluated by Diego (yes my dog barked at him the whole time) and he was great and was totally confident that sessions here would help him.So I bought a 4 pack of private classes with Jaimie. He barked at her the first two classes but was receptive to what she was having me teach him. By the last session he was so excited to see her he jumped up to say hi and get some love. After the 4th private she cleared us for group classes. He pulls me in the door now, he can't wait to work and play! He still barks at Diego sometimes but he definitely doesn't mind haha More...

Our dog learned so much in their classes in only about 10 classes.  Expect to spend some money for the courses, but it is not unreasonable and IT IS WORTH IT!!  The trainers are wonderful as is the front desk staff!  Our first visit was an evaluation.  This was a great idea to see where our dog was at and how they would do with other dogs.  I appreciate they take numerous steps to guide you so that your dog and other dogs are safe, happy, and learning while you are there.Staff does not make you feel pressured to buy their products, but are happy to give you advice regarding what they have if you are interested.  The best advice we received from them beyond the actually training was a harness that has changed walking my dog and made it so much easier!!  My dog would pull a lot when we would walk her at first, not after training with them though, and the Easy Harness allowed me to redirect her with minimal effort.  Check out Zoom Room when you have a chance it will save your dog training sanity :) More...

We have observed other classes also and it appears that all of the trainers are just as amazing too!  We were very happy and impressed with the hospitality and friendliness that every single person at the Zoom Room shows anytime we call or come in. If I could give the Zoom Room 100 stars I would. We started obedience training with our (now 5 months old) mini goldendoodle here about 2 months ago and could not be happier with our experience. Mara started in Puppy Preschool at about 13 weeks old and graduated to Puppy Obedience automatically at 16 weeks. In Preschool we learned introductory "click to calm" drills, basic obedience commands, and puppy socialization. Since we weren't bringing her outside yet, this class was crucial for fostering positive relationships with other puppies and people. The constant positive reinforcement not only encouraged her to make smart choices, but it kept us patient and energetic during classes where she was less focused (she is a puppy after all). Since we saw great results with the fundamental training we learned in Preschool, we decided to continue with Puppy Obedience. We started this class at 16 weeks and will attend classes on both Saturday and Sunday until Mara is 6 months old (class frequency is totally discretionary). To date, she has learned (with increased distractions) sit/stay, down/stay, watch me, leave it, wait, impulse control, heel, loose leash walking, greetings, "go to mark", and name recall (I may have forgotten a few, forgive me!). We are turning 6 months in a few weeks and hope to test into the next class so that we can start their workshops! They offer therapy workshops, scent training, flyball, agility, etc! Gotta put her energy to good use!! Perhaps the best part about Zoom Room though is the staff. The owners are two of the most encouraging, joyful, and hospitable people we have ever met. They are always willing to answer questions about how to curb certain behaviors or address training challenges without ever making us feel like they don't have time or are disinterested. They engage with each person and pup that comes through those doors and welcomes them happily into their space. Lastly, we have met some new awesome friends at Zoom Room (which was uber important for me). Mara has connected with 4 other doodles and has had separate play dates outside of class with 2 of them. These classes are such a great way to find like-minded individuals who are trying to survive the first few months, just like we are. I recommend Zoom Room to absolutely every person I know with a dog.  Thank you for everything, ZRHB.If you need more convincing check out our IG at @simplymaravelous and watch our training progress videos! I signed up my 3-year-old dog, Balto, for private classes at the Zoom Room after hearing very positive remarks about them from my vet. The best part about Zoom Room is that they use positive reinforcement training, which means they reward the dog's good behavior instead of punishing them for bad behavior. Balto has only taken four classes but I have seen a lot of improvement in his behavior. He's gotten better with jumping on people (still happens occasionally, but definitely not as much) and learned several new commands. I have signed him up for additional classes and can't wait to see his results. Another thing I noticed--the facility is very clean, especially for having so many dogs coming in and out of the building! Overall, I am very impressed with this business. More...

We love the zoom room! I've been taking my doodle Harvey there since he was about 6 months old. I am now taking my 9 month old doe Hamilton as well. The classes are small so each dog gets lots of personal attention. The trainers are very creative at coming up with real life situations. For example, Ashley once had us simulate walking up to the counter (table) with our dog to pickup our Starbucks order while trying to keep our dog from reacting to another dog at (fake) Starbucks. My 4-legged pal Tanner and I have been attending classes at Zoom Room for a few months now.  We are currently in both Obedience 2 and Agility 2.  We are having a blast and Tanner is training me very well.  Here are some of the things we like best about going there:EVERYONE that works there is always welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and very enthusiasticEvery trainer there is completely consistent in their methodology, while still injecting their own personality and styleThere is a great deal of flexibility in the scheduling (however classes do fill up since there is a max of 6 in a class so do try to plan ahead)The variety of classes allows you and your pup to find a path (or paths) that's best for both of youThe other students (both 2-legged and 4-legged) are friendly and encouraging tooHere are some of the things that we like least about going there:um, never mind...  there aren't any.  even the drive is well worth it and it gives Tanner and I a chance to talk about things during the trip.Honestly, I wish I had thought of this concept.  It makes so much sense.  And they execute it so well.  Whenever we pull into the parking lot Tanner gets excited. I've been coming to Zoom Room on and off for a few years, first with private training for my older dog and now group training with my 1 year old dog. I don't live anywhere near Zoom Room (in heavy traffic it can take up to an hour for me to get there) but it's worth the time. I've hired a number of trainers over the years, but Zoom Room is the best. After everything I've learned, I strongly believe that clicker training with positive reinforcement gets the best results. Side note: as someone who worked as a therapist, positive reinforcement works best with both human and furry children. But, for some reason, my human kids just laugh when I use the clicker on them. My younger dog, Theo, has graduated to Level 3 and now we're working towards the goal of becoming a therapy team. Over the past 6 months or so, we've primarily worked with Miranda. She's a fantastic trainer who clearly loves dogs and works very well with the owners/handlers. The entire staff and other trainers we've worked with are also so friendly and helpful. They offer a variety of courses, including obedience, puppy classes, agility, dog tricks, scent work, loose leash, therapy dog, shy dog and other enrichment classes. I really can't say enough nice things about the experience that I've had with Sarah at the Culver City Zoom Room so far. I've got a difficult situation on my hands - I'm a first time dog owner owning up to the rather neglectful first four years of my dog's life. On top of that, she's a St. Bernard, and an extremely high-strung one at that; pretty sure that would be her temperament regardless of her lackluster upbringing. I wanted to find something that could meet a reasonable budget, was based on regular visits and check-ins, was close to my place in West LA, and with someone who really seemed to want to get to know me, my dog, and the life that we have together in order to provide good insight into how to move forward better together. I found all of that and more in Sarah.I've had a few unimpressive dalliances with training before, mostly individuals with sixty billion accreditations coming to my house, giving me a stapled print-out and lecturing me for an hour and a half before looking at my dog for maybe five minutes and acting quite repulsed by her size and rambunctiousness because she's not some toy dog, and then charging me hundreds of dollars. Useless, total waste of time. I wanted something digestible, something I was held accountable to. I know that training is mostly about me learning how to clearly communicate with my dog, rather than hammering my dog into submission.Let's start with the price. Not only is this place ridiculously affordable, but Sarah has been overly generous with not charging me upon sudden cancellations, and offering to comp me additional sessions when I'm getting discouraged. Private lessons are in the double digit price range, not triple digit. Discounts abound, and she'll remind you of them and redeem them for you. Five 30-minute lessons for $250 is a great deal, and so is individual ones for $65. Trust that your time is not going to be wasted, unlike those in home visitor-type trainers who can't possibly get enough context based on the premise of their visit.I've gotten discouraged when it felt like things weren't looking up on changing me and my dog's rhythm, and Sarah actually took the time to basically write me a long pep talk email and ground me in reminders of how far my dog and I have already come in changing our behaviors. This was when the offer to comp was extended, too. She cares, and she backs it up with her actions. She's super generous with loading me up with extra treats that I don't have at home to keep my dog fired up during lessons, and she's even sent me home with stuff that's for sale in the front for free sometimes. The place is a little dingy but does it really need to be nice? It's not like it's filthy from dogs being in there all the time and it not getting cleaned up, it's just in an industrial part of Culver by the freeway and is basically a garage with gym mat tiles. I only bring it up because I was a little surprised by the difference between the pics and the reality of the look of the place when I got there. Also, parking blows. It's pretty absymal. Make sure to get there right before your appointment to minimize circling the block waitingThere is a very strong sense that you are with someone who is a professional dog trainer when you're with her. The moment she lets you in the door you know there's several mental threads running at once. She's already caught herself up on where you guys are at in your training before you got there, what the expectation was when you're here now, what we're gonna be working on next; she's taking notes about everything you're saying while she's also giving you advice about corrections to make; every lesson she sends you home with handwritten summary notes to review over the week. This is someone worth paying a lot of money for and she doesn't even charge that much. My dog loves her and is really excited to come in every time.I don't really know anything about the business at large or the other trainers at the location; I've only ever had to interface with Sarah. I found it a bit byzantine to navigate the website or the corporate phone line when I needed to cancel an appointment. Sarah herself is a bit hard to get a hold of if you get out of the rhythm of scheduling the next time you're coming in right as you're leaving, but hey she's busy as fuck.I'm very much still in the beginning of my process. We've got maybe half a dozen private lessons behind us and still a long road to go before we're in group classes with other dogs. I wanted to wait until I emerge on the other side of this process to give an evaluation but I really don't have any reason to believe at this point that anything moving forward is going to be any different from what I've already experienced. This is high-quality, effective, individualized, positive reinforcement-only dog training at a fraction of the price you'd find from other places. I highly, highly recommend Zoom Room, whether your pup is young, middle aged (like mine) or old. More...

Rating 5 stars because of our trainer Chelsea. Chelsea has gone above and beyond to help train us to work with our newly adopted dog. After bringing our pup home from the pound we quickly found out she had some behavioral issues with other people and dogs. To give you a full picture- she would lunge and bark at people passing by and would flip out if we saw a dog from down the street. My boyfriend and I are first time dog owners and were worried about having the skills to work with her.We started out with private training sessions with Chelsea and have made some great progress. Chelsea has tailored each session to our needs and concerns and helped us to find creative ways of desensitizing our dog outside of class time. She has been available over email to work with our scheduling needs and answer any questions we have had along the way. Our budget is a little tight but we definitely felt we made the most of every class. Chelsea helped to quickly integrate us into group classes (we work with our dog behind a doggy gate barrier for now) and we have even been able to take our dog on walks alongside my sister's pups. So grateful for Chelsea and the genuine care and enthusiasm with which she works! More...

I am EXTREMELY happy with Zoom Room and the services they provide and the friendly, kind, informative personnel. I have a Pomeranian shelter dog with ongoing behavior issues. He is aggressive towards other dogs out of being fearful from being jumped by a dog at the shelter. Over the years he's been active by playing with our other dog who he is totally fine with. However our other dog now has many health issues and isn't able to play/interact with him anymore. I walk our shelter dog twice a day, take him on car rides and we have on going reconditioning training that helps him but just isn't enough mental stimulation. We have always thought he'd be awesome at agility but thought that wasn't a possibility due to his behavior issues as I had passed by Zoom Room a few times and saw there were multiple dogs inside. I figured it just wasn't an option. I took a chance though after our behaviorist at VCA recommended Zoom Room saying they had private sessions available and many of her clients had great experiences. I spoke to the owner Diego who was incredible! He explained everything about Zoom Room and that they did offer private sessions and we could test out seeing if my dog would enjoy it and be ok in one. I love how accommodating and communicative the entire staff is. When we arrive I call ahead and let them know we are there but are patiently waiting in our car until they call back to say which entrance ( front or back) to use to avoid my dog seeing or getting surprised or having to interact with another dog. I'm ecstatic to report not only did my dog LOVE agility training, he's a natural and learned each trick by doing it once or twice max! His temperament inside the facility is calm and he's happy. The most extraordinary thing that happened on our second visit was that another dog came in and walked along the other side of the wall where my dog was doing agility. He heard the dog and glanced over but didn't cry/whine ( his typical first response) and then went right back to being focused on me and the training. Diego mentioned this might happen but I wasn't prepared to agree until I saw it happen myself. We will continue to be extra safe with my dog entering and exiting the facility as we continue to move forward with this most excellent fun activity that my dog is responding so positively too. He even is way more calm and chill at home after agility training and the following day. THANK YOU ZOOM ROOM! THANK YOU DIEGO! THANK YOU JAMIE! More...

OMG- GREAT! Cheryl was the third trainer for my dog.

1st trainer: Said my dog was aggressive and would not work with him until put in 3 weeks of work.

2nd trainer: said my dog was reactive, was willing to work with me, however was on travel for 6 weeks.

Cheryl: day one (eval) was growled at by my dog- but was super duper patience and was able to PET him by the end of the session!

We started with 4 personal sessions for me and my dog (to keep everyone safe and be smart). Two session in - I was able to move to classes!

We are have passed obedience level 1 and are now on to obedience 2 and agility and still WOW!

I have an awesome dog that I am proud of. Also, I am a better paw-rent for the training i have received.

I shopped around for trainer-- learn from me and go with the Zoom Room!!

We love zoom room! I'm very particular about where I take my puppy so I did tons of extensive research on what kind of training I should pursue. Zoom room's positive reinforcement and clicker training method has been a win so far! Zoom room HB is a little bit of a trek for us (coming from RSM), but this just goes to show how worth it it is. We're currently enrolled in Puppy Preschool and our little pup is close to mastering the basics at 12 weeks old :) He (and we) love the socialization aspect too because he isn't allowed to go freely into the world yet and we can trust that all of these puppies have their vaccines. We've recently been cleared to start puppy agility classes too, yay!Every trainer we've interacted with (Victoria, Mimi & Eric (sp?)) has been so patient, positive and caring every step of the way. You can really tell they wholeheartedly love dogs and want the best for them. You can create an account and schedule classes online but I would recommend starting the process by calling them in person. They explain how their system works, will help you with scheduling in advance and also give you tips on where to begin. More...

Zoom Room is designed to train the dog owners, not the dogs. The group lessons that I have been taking teach me skills to train my puppy. While little Oliver gets to socialize a bit during class, the true training takes place every other day that we are not in class.. The instructors are young and energetic. They teach from the same book so the classes are comparable even with a different teacher. The group lessons come at a decent price but there is a lifetime of education and skills for your pet. I am SO thankful to have found the Zoom Room! Before the Zoom Room, my 5 year old bichon-maltese mix (follow this cutie if you don't already! instagram.com/watsonandw…) was snapping at dogs randomly on walks, at the office and anywhere we went. Also at kids :(. I took him to the Zoom Room for an assessment and they started us with privates at a super reasonable price, then we graduated into Obedience 2 and are now in Obedience 3. Everyone I know, me and my boyfriend included, have remarked on what a difference it has made in his temperament! He isn't perfect, but if he does get testy I know how to redirect his energy instantly. The packages are extremely affordable and the best part is you aren't forced into a class where you have to attend every week for X number of weeks. You can drop into any of the classes of your level during the week using your package. All of the trainers are so friendly as well and you can tell how knowledgeable they are! I am delighted with the Zoom Room training, trainers, and the facility.  It's a plus that they also offer high quality training items, treats, and foods for sale. (I've never experienced, contrary to another reviewer's experience, ANY pressure to purchase anything.)   I appreciate that parking is readily available.  Plus, the classes are competitively and reasonable priced. My terrier-mix puppy is moving from Puppy Obedience to Obedience 1 classes and I am pleased with the growth he has made.  He has also participated in some of their Puppy Play Groups.  I find Cheryl to be amazing in how she trains the dogs' owners to teach their pups.  She catches every little nuance in both the dogs' and handlers' behavior and responds accordingly.   She is abundantly gifted and gets clear results.Know that it is imperative to be on time for any training classes.  The brief initial play time that precedes the actual class is essential for effective training.  Even a few minutes of lateness can have a negative impact not only on your dog, but on the entire group.  You might not be able to join the class if you are late, and you will still be responsible to pay for that class.  This happened to me once.  I believe this is a fair consequence and reinforces the need to respect the group, including dogs, handlers, and trainer. Thank you Cheryl! We can't rave enough about how much we love Zoom Room. Our dog, Lexi, has become a much better behaved dog thanks to group obedience classes! We still have a long way to go and a lot of work ahead, but we have had VAST behavioral improvements. Lexi was rehomed twice in a little over a year before she came to us and when we began obedience 1 I thought we would never make it through - Lexi would bark during class repeatedly and she had very little focus. After beginning classes last November Lexi is now able to remain quiet the entire class with very minimal barking (1 or none each class). Lexi's stay and "leave it"  are so much better than ever before too. She went from being a very nervous dog to quite a confident one. We couldn't have done it without Obedience at Zoom Room. More...

Zoom Room is amazing. Cheryl and her team did a fantastic job of not only helping me work with my dog to help him learn things like stay and to bark considerably less (which has been a total game-changer for our home life); they helped me to understand my role in leading my dog and the psychology behind his behavior. My dog was too excitable for group obedience lessons so we had 4 private lessons with Cheryl. It was the best money I've spent in ages, 100% worth it. She is a dog whisperer who can teach my 2 year old rescue to do something new in about 2 minutes, while teaching me to do the same thing so we could practice at home and really make permanent improvements in behaviors and habits. We worked on several new skills in each lesson. Doggie has graduated in his to group obedience class. He can socialize with other dogs at a dog park, and we can now walk through the neighborhood without him barking at other dogs--be they on leash, in their yard, or in their homes. I've been bringing Loki (a super energetic Australian Shepherd) to Zoom Room since he was a 5 month old puppy and he's 2 1/2 years old now. We first did a lot of training at home with the help of YouTube and were super confident that he probably knew it all since he was just so good. Then we brought him to an obedience class full of other dogs and to our horror, we discovered he was a wild little monster. But it's a good thing! There's nothing quite like training in a group setting that provides the right amount of distractions/temptation to play to really instill socialization and have your dog really in tune with you. So it's all normal! There's different kinds of classes available on the schedule to choose from with different trainers. We've had 5 trainers so far and they're all awesome. They all have different styles which I love since a lot of dogs learn/respond differently to all kinds of techniques. How do I personally decide whether or not he/she is a good trainer? Some of the trainers bring their own dogs and those dogs didn't become performing superstars on their own. Sure, a dog might act up once in awhile too. But it's also seeing how these trainers positively respond/correct their dogs like they are their own loved children (which I know some people do not approve of) which I can appreciate since Loki is MY child :). Take your judgment elsewhere. I can't thank these trainers enough for all the help that they provide. Loki loves his Agility and Pup-lates classes.Customer Service gets an A+ from me. They've always been super communicative and flexible with me. Whenever a class has been moved around, they call me right up to let me know immediately. Everyone here is totally personable and open to any questions that are asked. Love it! More...

My puppy requires A LOT of physical and mental stimulation in order to be calm and manageable. I've been looking at a variety of training facilities to do obedience and agility training and I think we've found our match. Zoom Room is unique in that obedience classes are skill based and flexible, not series and schedule based, so you can advance quicker (depending on your commitment to training at home) and without having to commit to a six week course. Zoom Room also has a really great schedule for working people with classes in the evenings during the weekdays and almost all day on weekends! Our first class was with Mike and he was great. He gave great pointers on how to get our puppy to comply and our usually shy puppy was totally drawn to him. It is rare to find a trainer who not only recognizes each dog is unique but will follow through with that knowledge and treat every dog with patience and respect.  Encourage a dog to proceed at his/her own pace.  Never force a dog to do something the dog is reluctant to do.It is rare to find a trainer who treats the owner with the same patience and respect.  Never infer the owner is the problem or get exasperated when the owner is struggling.  Tactfully correct the owner, listen to the owner's concerns and encourage questions with the understanding they are all valid.Sam is one of those rare trainers.  He consistently shows love and respect for dogs and their owners by the way he treats them.I have a permanent invisible disability which leaves me feeling worthless.  I hate what I've become.  I hate losing the ability to work, to think logically, to function as I used to. I encounter too many thoughtless people whose actions are unintentionally harmful. My 3-year-old, 4-lb toy poodle loves our agility lessons.  I can see his joy as he becomes familiar with a new obstacle, learns what he has to do, and is no longer intimidated by it.  I love our lessons because Sam understands my challenges and helps me become a competent handler.  For 30 minutes I feel good about myself.Sam is not just a good trainer.  He is a good person. We adopted our pup, Carter, about 1 year ago now. Right away when we brought him home we realized he had some large reactivity issues, causing myself, my significant other, and our dog stress. We decided to bring our guy to Cheryl at Zoom Room--the best decision we have ever made! She goes above and beyond to train and teach. After several weeks of private classes, we graduated to a small group class, which she had put together specifically for us and two other families with reactive pups! Fast forward to present day... Our dog who could not even be within seeing distance of another dog without losing it, now has dog friends, and is a dream on the leash! None of this could have been possible without her impressive training! Not only has she helped our dog, but she has helped us, we honestly had no idea what we were doing until she started teaching us! Without her, I have no idea where we would be today! THank you, Thank you, Thank you! More...

When I adopted Winnie at 10 weeks old I was absolutely overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. I had a dog for 16 years and had forgotten what having a puppy was even like. After meeting with a few personal trainers, I decided to enroll Winnie in puppy preschool instead on a whim. I have waited for a few classes so I could give a full, unbridled review based off a few experiences... and I really don't have anything negative to say. Mimi, the trainer we have had, is AMAZING. She is knowledgeable, leads a great and positive class, and takes the time to learn not just the puppies' names but their guardians as well. She has given me great suggestions in helping Winnie; today was her first class in which she was finally excited to attend and play with other dogs! I attribute all of Winnie's success to Mimi leading a great class and providing us with the tools we need to practice at home. She is a true asset, and the only bummer here is it looks like she does not instruct Puppy Obedience, which we will be advancing to next. The rest of the staff is just as friendly and amazing as Mimi - I wish I knew all of their names! Any time I've needed to make a purchase for my teething baby, someone has popped by to help make recommendations and is always very knowledgeable. Taylor steps in during play time to help me "mama gorilla" Winnie from the other dogs and always makes great conversation and helps coach good socialization techniques. She also took some of the cutest pictures of Winnie I've ever seen! The next time I come in with Winnie we'll be purchasing another package and getting enrolled in Puppy Obedience. I didn't know if I'd continue on at zoom room but I have loved the experience so much and seen such growth in Winnie that I know it's the right thing to do. It's a passionate environment I love bringing Winnie to. Apparently you can get a private session if you check in while there so I need to remember to do that because seriously, this staff is incredible. Thank you Mimi and Zoom Room for helping us grow! Highly recommend to literally anyone. More...

The best class ever! My beagle and I just participated in Sam's Agility I class on Sunday afternoon at the Sherman Oaks Zoom Room. I never write Yelp reviews, but I felt the need to let others know what a fabulous class it was. Sam's instructions, patience and organization throughout the hour were well received. The class was interesting, fun and educational for both my beagle and myself. There were only two other dogs in class and both were so well behaved :)  I have already signed up for next Sunday!  Thank you so much Sam! More...

Well run, clean facility, enthusiastic, positive teachers and nice, attentive staff. They have high quality treats available for purchase and keep credit card on file, which I appreciate because it makes it easy to purchase while you're working with your dog. Parking is very convenient.  The only thing that makes no sense is why they would have bully sticks and dog bones and treats in glass jars on the floor at a dog's nose level? It's a nightmare to get my strong, unruly dog from the door to the training area because she naturally wants to grab the treats and knock things over. Plus it seems unsanitary to sell treats that other dogs have mouthed, slobbered on and spilled on the floor. More...

The Zoom Room is a fantastic place for pup training!  Their positive training methods are wonderful.  I adopted my pup at 2 years old and she was able to learn many commands with patience, consistency and positive reinforcement.  The owner and staff are great too!  I highly recommend the Zoom Room for training, agility course or just gym play time with other pups !! The owner, Diego, even held my post-dated cheque until i had my paycheck deposited, still let me take classes so my puppy clover wouldn't miss out ......... I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place! We own a very hyper, vivacious (with a hint of tenaciousness) dog, Nala the Samoyed. We took her here because she needs a lot of work! We tried other places but were not as successful. We started taking her around 10 weeks and she's now 9 months and we seriously couldn't be happier. We've gone through private sessions, agility and obedience classes with Chelsea who we love dearly. She's so patient and kind with Nala. And I'll remind you that Nala is a bit sassy and stubborn. Needless to say Chelsea has really helped us transform Nala into a much more obedient puppy. We love coming to Zoom Room because Chelsea and Maria are both extremely positive and welcoming. They create an environment that's safe and fosters strong learning amongst all the pups. Classes are small so there is a lot of attention from the trainer. Also, they have the best treats! So thank you Chelsea and Maria for making dog training fun and much more enjoyable for us :) More...

I have been taking my puppy here since July 2017. We have tried obedience classes and agility for puppies. I have to rave about the trainer AJ. He is a gem.  He is very patient with the puppies. He is encouraging and never makes anyone feel stupid. He knows a lot about dogs and seems to have something to try for every issue.  He listens carefully and gives thoughtful suggestions.  We had a guest dog in our home for a few weeks. My puppy was playing too rough with guest dog. AJ gave us great tips to get the dogs to settle down and play safely. If you are looking for a fun place to take your pup, and some great advice and training take a class at zoom room with AJ.  You won't be sorry. More...

Our puppy recently graduated from Puppy Kindergarten at PetSmart. While that was great for socialization purposes, we were looking for a different program to continue challenging our pup. So based on recommendations from other pet owners, we decided to give Zoom Room a try! They have multiple locations and the closest one to us is in Huntington Beach. It's in a mini mall on the corner of Beach Blvd and Garfield Avenue. There's a bit of construction on Beach Blvd so you may be a little delayed reaching the store.Zoom Room is an interesting little place. They sell treats, chews, collars and leashes. The actual training area is in the back and has a gated area separating the store from the training section. This area is large enough to accommodate up to 6 dogs. There is ample space in between each pet so that you can focus on the techniques being taught. They offer various classes to include Puppy Kindergarten, 3 levels of basic to advanced obedience, agility courses, and canine good citizen certification. What makes Zoom Room different from other training facilities is that you don't have a set time to come in for the next 6 weeks. You have to buy a package of classes that could range from 4 to 10 classes. Then you have to look at the schedule and try to get into that class. There are a certain number of spots available for each class so you might have to go on a waitlist if it's full. This is a bit of an inconvenience for people who like consistency. I scheduled our puppy's classes well in advance so that we could be consistent with our weekly visits!!!!Our pup was enrolled in Obedience 1 which I felt was appropriate for him. Going into this class, I felt like he would advance through the requirements relatively quick! That wasn't the case because they stepped it up a notch and unfortunately, this pup has a short attention span. He struggled at first but 7 weeks later, he pulled it off!!! Our little Maverick graduated!!!!!! What I thought was odd about Zoom Room was that you go over the entire set of requirements in one class. It was overwhelming because it was a lot to handle in one setting. We basically had our work cut out for us at this point! However, we worked with Maverick on a daily basis and saw results over time.Another thing that I found to be interesting was that dogs graduate at different times. Each week, the trainer monitors your dog's progress. Once they feel that your dog has mastered the requirements set forth in the syllabus, your furry friend will graduate. It's pretty much a surprise when it happens because it occurs at the end of the class. So as you're on your way out, they'll stop you and give you a graduation certificate. A photo is taken with the award as well as a little gradation cap IF your dog will wear it. Overall, we are happy with our experience at Zoom Room. Our puppy really enjoyed going to class. He even relaxed enough to lay down and kick back when he should have been working! We were just happy to see him thriving in a new environment because we want the best for him. We look forward to the challenges coming our way in Obedience 2! It looks like we've found a facility that keeps the owner and dog happy!!! More...

I love this place! I have a German Shorthaired pup, 6 months old now, and although I have had and trained my own dogs for decades, I find myself learning new tricks/solutions every class. The staff is knowledgeable, the facility is clean, you can check schedules and book online, heck, there's even free and abundant parking! It *is* a positive training environment which can be a challenge for people who grew up in old school hunting or agricultural norms, but if you can put aside old habits, there is a lot to learn here. This place is great! They make training very simple and easy to learn if you are new to dog training. The $99 summer deal is awesome and the only minor issue is that the classes do expire, however they are very upfront about it and it's your responsibility to keep track. Some classes are limited and do not work with my schedule, so I bought a package once I could commit to the same class every week. Check the schedule online! I was sick last week and called only an hour before class started, they allowed me to reschedule as a one time courtesy which I greatly appreciated, as it would have been 1 class credit wasted because they need 24 hours notice. I also love their play groups, my dog always has a good time and it's sooo worth it vs sitting outside in the summer heat. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, they sell some cool treats and items. I highly recommend this to place! More...

We love Zoom Room! It typically takes us anywhere from 30-60 minutes to get here from where we live, and we often get asked why we drive so far when there are other training options closer to us. It's because we haven't found another place that is as friendly, as effective, as flexible, or as fun as Zoom Room! The trainers and staff are all so kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They are always willing to help us address an issue we're having with our dog, and on multiple occasions, have taken extra time out of their schedule to work with us for a few minutes after class for additional help.We started in Puppy Obedience, took the Calm Down workshop last fall, and are currently taking Obedience 3 and Agility classes. We just got CGC certified. It can sometimes be hard to get into classes if you don't register early enough. Classes you're on the wait list for count as reserved classes and you can't have more classes reserved than you have classes purchased, so we have found it best to get the larger class packs and book classes out as far as possible. I agree with a previous reviewer that the website is kind of clunky, but that's likely not in HB's immediate control and it doesn't have any impact on the quality of training you get here.  Our dog loves coming here and so do we! We highly recommend it! More...

LOVE THE ZOOM ROOM HB!I've been coming here for over a year. I call this my happy place. First, the instructors are highly knowledgeable, very friendly, and clearly love dogs. They teach positive reinforcement, and can explain why forceful training or negative reinforcement is detrimental. Most importantly, they teach people how to train their dogs and maintain good behavior for a close bond with your pet. Their scheduling process is quite convenient. They have a variety of classes everyday, 7 days a week. You only sign up for classes that fit your schedule. Class prices are very reasonable. My dog has grown from a hyperactive teenager to a well-behaved companion, and even earned his canine good citizen status. Zoom Room feels more like social hour with friends (the staff is amazing) with the added benefit of dog training rather that boring dog classes. I'd give 10 stars if I could! More...

I can't possibly emphasize how amazing Zoom Room is for dog training. They are just the best, I don't think my wife and I could have hoped to find a better place to help us train our new puppy. Cheryl doesn't just teach tricks (but she is super good at that), she helps you learn about your dog, and what they want, and how to motivate and understand them. I've been taking my dog here for about 3 months now, we've learned so much from them in the short amount of time we've been going. We were doing private classes that are very reasonably priced, they go from basic to advanced commands, my dog gets excited on his leash around other dogs, even though it's a private class they use "dummy" dogs to help with those issues, my dog responded to them, so it seemed to work. We finally just started group and agility classes, which really seems to be helping with his social skills. We still have a long way to go, but I'm very happy with my experience here so far. More...

10 Stars!!! Started coming April of 2016 after walking out on 2 different Petco trainers, I haven't left the Zoom Room yet. The flexible classes they have are phenomenal, can't make it one day, don't worry, obedience & Agility classes are on weekdays, and weekends. Workshops aren't flexible but you can do private class make ups. I love how you can buy a pack of 5, 10 or 16 pack of classes and they can be used for almost any class or dog in the family. They have a wide variety of training classes, and I love it! I Have 3 dogs, Nana, has done OB2, OB3, CGC test, Therapy Workshop, Therapy Test, as well as Agility 2 & 3 and now in Agility League. Wendy, has done, OB2, OB3, CGC test, Therapy Workshop, Therapy Test, and Agility 2 and enjoys playgroups. Peter, has done, OB2, OB3, Scent Workshop and Private lessons. Also what is really great is being able to rent the Gym for 30mins to beat the Texas weather and be indoors to play with your dog, or practice for an upcoming test or even  Agility.Lets not forget Friday Nights, 1st Friday of the month we enjoy Fido&Friends which is BYOB & Dog, sit around drink some wine or soda, great snacks, talk and watch the dogs play for awhile. They also have Agility Games, Kids Zone, Obedience games, and Holiday events too much FUN to handle. Last year we got to walk in the 4th of July Trophy Club Parade. There is also a Kids Summer program that is a lot of fun to send off the kids and dog for some training.Good Food, Great Fun, and make tons of new friends! More...

My girlfriend and I just got our second pup.  It is a 3-month-old French Bulldog.  We have been looking for a socialization/training class that would perfectly fit our needs, and Zoom Room has exceeded our expectations. With our first Frenchie (now 5 yrs.) we lived in NY and didn't know what to do.  We found some socialization classes that helped dogs to get used to seeing and playing with all types of other puppies and it was great.  It was more of a free-for-all, just with a play area.  Like a dog park for dogs who can't go out in the world yet because they don't have all vaccines.  It was perfect for what we needed, and our dog grew up with a great social nature.  But when we took our first two classes at Zoom Room it changed the way I thought about dog training. They go through some very important training exercises that we have brought home too, and it is really making the difference.  They are giving my pup fundamental skills that my older dog is now also re-learning at home.  They get to play with other dogs, but they also get the tools you will need in later development to be able to command your dog's attention and assure that they are as well behaved as possible.  They make them familiar so that on the street they aren't scared of bikes, skateboards, wheelchairs, other dogs, other people.  They get your puppy used to giving you attention after hearing their name, and coming to you, and more.   I think that after she is old enough to start the training, we will likely bring her.  I also would like to bring my old dog back for some basics.  Overall my older dog is a good/well-behaved dog, but she has been responding very well to the clicker method.  They also give great rates for new members, so if you are on the fence about trying this, it's worth checking it out for yourself! I have a Standard Poodle that is ( and was ) extremely hyper. About a year ago, I found Zoom Room. Heather, the trainer at Zoom Room was extremely patient with Jessie, She has taught both Jessie and I so many strategies to curb her enthusiasm . I have take numerous classes there. Heather makes each class fun and informative. I was actually told by another trainer that Jessie was too hyper and wouldn't be much more than a good pet. Jessie has passed her Good Canine Certification, as well as does some Rally and Agility classes. It's time to let the world know about the amazing progress our dog, Coco, is making at the Zoom Room thanks to the careful guidance and love of Chelsea!  She breezed through Obedience 1 but got stuck halfway between agility 1 and 2. Something spooked her. Chelsea has been helping Coco overcome her fears and today we had a break through. Coco is less fearful and began enjoying the classes again.  My daughter, Coco and I had so much fun together.  AND, thanks to private lessons with Sarah, our rambunctious little Maggie has developed enough self control to attend agility classes. She thundered through her first agility 1 class with Cynthia. Cynthia really "got" Maggie's personality and used her know how to direct the boundless energy into real skills. It was obvious the class gave Maggie a lot more confidence and made it easier for her to calm down.  The zoom room team has been accommodating our busy schedules, working at our family's pace and creating an oasis of fun for us to look forward to when work and homework get us down.  We are grateful to have this wonderful program in our life! My 10-year-old Pug Chowtz gets so excited when we arrive at Zoom Room - she knows it's the place where she gets lots of treats and head rubs. The instructors Cynthia and Chelsea are great with Chowtz and knowledgeable about how to best instruct me to guide her. Though Chowtz is already 10, she has learned so much in a short 2.5 months - we tried them out during Thanksgiving weekend when they had  $5 promotional classes, and then we signed up for a 15-pack which had a special that you would get a $75 gift card. Came out to less than $20/class (better than PetSmart and Petco classes). We have loved our 17 classes thus far at Zoom Room and are excited to start the therapy dog workshop next week. We have good days and more challenging days when we struggle, but the instructors are always encouraging and patient. We trained at Petsmart years ago but we are glad we found Zoom Room because we love their philosophy & approach and the culture of the organization - it's like being part of a family. Though it doesn't look like much from the outside, their facility is cute and home-y, well kept up, and clean and when it's cold outside, it's nice and warm inside during class. They always have a great assortment of treats and toys too. The recent Valentine's Day party was especially fun with all the food, gym equipment, paw paintings, and music. Over 20 dogs came and it was a good time. It was also a good way to help socialize my dog and have her practice some of the good mannered canine skills we've learned in class. Looking forward to the next party! Would recommend to anyone trying to train their dogs! More...

My friend invited me to a puppy playdate here at zoom and having never been i didn't know what to expect. It was a great clean space for the pups to run around in. There was awesome ramps for them to investigate/chase each other up and draws full of toys and balls to throw. There seemed to be other things like hoops for them to jump through and even skateboards - if you have an active dog! Our pups had a great time running around, we didn't have to worry about the weather and there's also a handy supply of treats to buy if you're running low. The guy at the desk when we were there was super helpful and friendly. I'd recommend and know we'll be going back! More...

I have 3 dogs who take various classes at Zoom Room. They ALL absolutely love it there.  One of my dogs was 7 months old when I got him and had never walked on a leash, socialized with humans (besides minimal contact with his breeder) & had never even left his breeders back yard.  He was extremely timid and scared of everything.  Under Heather and V's training he has made a complete turn around.  He just passed his CGC test yesterday!!!  I am beyond pleased with the attention, patience and care the trainers at Zoom Room put forth to help him become the confident and well adjusted dog that he is now.  The entire staff is wonderful with my all of my dogs.  A nice bonus is that Zoom Room has been a great place for me to learn and have fun as well. Had a great experience this week at Zoom Room. I booked the space for private gym time so my dog could have a play date and it was excellent. The space looks and smells clean, and it's nice to have an indoor option for dogs to play in together. I will definitely be coming back. More...

I can't say enough good things about Cheryl and the whole Zoom Room team! Our dog, Penny, has attended play groups, agility classes and obedience training. We are all being well trained and having a blast while working hard. I particularly like how the classes are set up so dogs progress at their own rate and are not beholden to a specific number of sessions.Check it out...you and your pup will be glad you did! More...

As a 1st time dog owner, I appreciate Cheryl's guidance in Puppy Playgroup for understanding healthy canine social behavior. Agility and obedience classes are positive and fun interactive experiences for me and my puppy. The classes have been a great way to train my dog to focus on me while other dogs are around. Very clean facility. Great selection of dog treats, toys and other products for sale too. More...

I've been taking my dog there for about 3 month. We went through obedience 1 and are currently in obedience 2 and agility 1. Cheryl and the rest of the staff are amazing! I love seeing how far my dog has come in such a short time. The training is easy to follow and understand and the dogs seem to grasp it quick too. Overall it's just great! More...

This is the best and most effective dog draining place we've been able to find. Our dog Riley (Black Lab Retriever) was and still is very energetic specially when meeting new people. Cheryl and her team have been amazing on teaching us the best ways to make our little guy succeed.Zoom room is a fantastic place to train your dog both phisically as well as mentally which has proven to be super great for our pup. There was a time where I thought out dog was going to forever be a Bull in a China shop but The Zoom Room team have tremendously helped us turn him into a well behaved (still energetic) loving ball of fur.One other thing that they do is they prepare your dogs for the Canine Good Citizen test which is the first step to allow your dog to become a therapy dog or a  service animal. If I could give them 6 starts I would but I guess 5 starts will have to do. More...

My dog has been going through the Obedience 2 classes. Well what a difference it is making. Even though I have had her for about 5 years I am still learning some really good ways to improve our  relationship ..or in other words create a much better managed situation when out  and about.  I find that the classes are very  real life oriented and it seems the no matter what level of behavior training  one is at with ones dog Cheryl is able to  create a great environment for learning. My dog is not always comfortable around other digs and she has really done great. We will be back for more More...

Zoom Room makes me go Zoom Zoom!I have been here several times in the past couple of months for a variety of reasons: their introductory agility course, puppy play groups, and even a private birthday party for one of our friend's dog turning 1!To my knowledge, this is the only business in Virginia Beach that offers all these type of services and more in one location. The owner John is very nice and knowledgeable when it comes to dog training and what you should do and shouldn't do. I think I have seen him every time I have visited so that shows that he is dedicated to his job and he loves it (he does, I talked to him about this lol). The facility is well maintained, has cleaning supplies for those little messes caused by your furry little friends, and even public restrooms! The staff is very friendly and greet you when you enter; you would think the latter is instinctive but you would be surprised at how many businesses don't do this and leave a bad first impression. Of course, since this business is for dogs, it will smell a lot like wet dogs or dogs in general but you'll get over the smell eventually. The offer a wide selection of treats, dog toys/puzzles, chews, collars, harnesses, bedding, etc.Come here for all your Dog's needs and wants!SN: Check it on YELP for a free doggie donut treat! My GSD and I are a fan! I first came here after a recommendation from a friend who said they were offering $5 black friday special for new dogs to try out their agility training. from what i remember, i think it was about 30 minutes and there were 2 or 3 other dogs with us. WE HAD A BLAST! my GSD is naturally smart (get's it from her momma... and breed. hahaha jk) and she caught on quite quickly! it was so much fun and the trainer was great. the other puppies there were awesome too. So glad they checked vet paperwork to make sure they were all up to date on their shot records (just in case anything were to happen...) and the facility was super clean and loved the lay out!  they also have some treats and goodies for the dogs in the front of the store. ari loved trying their puppy donuts and i bought a bag of treats that we ended up using for the class. i believe it was the chicken jerky up against the wall. ONE OF HER FAVS! she'll do just about anything i tell her to do if i promise her one of these treats. haha kinda pricey (i think it was about $8.99 or so) but totally worth it! one thing i love about the stuff they have here is it's all remotely healthy in moderation for the dogs.the second time i came was to set up a birthday party for my puppy! she turned 1 and we had an absolute blast! one thing that i was a little ehh with was that when i called to set up the appointment, i felt like i wasn't told certain things -- that i later had to call back to ask. for instance, her guests needed to bring their shot records to attend her party. although i love the fact that they do this to ensure safety for all dogs, not a lot of people carry their dog's shot records with them. (thankfully i thought about it and called them - cause if not, we would have had to turn guests down.) another thing i was a little ehh about was when i initially called, the person said that they would offer pupcakes -- so i got super excited and made little signs and decor to go along with the party, but when they called to confirm my reservation, they told me it was donuts. so a little miscommunication there. i'm not sure if the people i was talking to were new, but for $125 for a one hour puppy party, i'd hope that they'd relay all the right information. but no harm, no foul once we got it all together! had a blast, and so did all of our guests! pricing is a little high but those smiles on the dog's faces.... PRICELESS. hahhahaha More...

We have a bit of a challenging dog, Buster.  He is so full of energy that he almost vibrates.  He also "talks" a lot.  We have had an excellent in home trainer work with him and saw little change, then came AJ and ZoomRoom.  AJ is the trainer and as far as I'm concerned he makes the place worth it's weight in gold.  There are other nice things about ZoomRoom.  It's always clean and bright, the dogs are all happy and engaged, but I can't say enough about AJ.  My husband took Buster there for several months and with AJ's amazing Dr Doolittle like skills was able to channel a lot of Buster's energy into learning tricks and doing the agility course.  I know the business has changed hands recently and I don't know much about the new management other than they were wise to keep AJ on.  If your thinking of training your dog you will not find a better facility or trainer than ZoomRoom and AJ.Parking is nonexistent and finding something on the blocks around is a bit of a issue, don't give up it's worth the hunt for a spot. Here are some specific reasons why I really like Zoom Room:1) Class is self-paced in the sense that if you're advanced, you will graduate more quickly. The instructors pay attention to the progress you make and will tailor instructions to you if they see you are either a little behind or a little head of others.2) The instructors incorporate games into the classes to keep things interesting. For example, in puppy obedience, we played a baseball-like game that involved performing tasks as a team and scoring points as a team. To practice "leave it," we did an activity in which we pretended to approach a counter and pay for something while the dogs attempted to ignore treats on the counter. I've been to another obedience school, and that school did not offer these kinds of activities, so I really appreciated this approach.3) Signing up for class is pretty straight-forward. The schedule is viewable online, and as long as there are openings and you have the correct prerequisites, you can sign yourself up.4) The instructors are themselves very calm people, which is great for the dogs. They praise us, which may not seem like it matters, but it certainly helps.5) For those who are prone to anxiety about doing things like this, I really really appreciate the non-judgmental atmosphere for Zoom Room. 6) A small thing: I like the very quiet clickers they provide you when you first sign up. Most clickers are extremely loud, and these are just the right volume. The only areas I could see room for improvement on are space, but they work just fine with the space they have. The store area feels a little crammed when people show up for class. Agility equipment is stowed on the periphery of the training area, and can be a bit distracting, but this is probably useful for training around distractions too. To address some of the comments in other reviews, I find that the speed at which dogs are graduated is very fair. We did not experience languishing in Obedience 1 as another reviewer commented. Maybe they were not ready for Obedience 2...A tip: stay positive and upbeat when you work with your dogs there (or when you are training anywhere). Bring more than one kind of treat; figure out what treats really "speak" to your dog. More...

Patient. Kind. Informative. Fun.It takes us a good 35 minutes to get here, on a good day, but it has been so worth it! We love the trainers and the great lessons they teach. My little pup started in Obedience 1 and has mastered so much with the assistance of the trainers. We are now in Obed 3. I love that they are always offering advice and tips while doing lessons, like if you aren't teaching the command as correctly as you could be. Their helpful critiques really assist humans in understanding how a pup thinks. We are also now in Agility 2 which my pup absolutely loves and we can't get enough of! Chelsea was incredibly patient with my pup as she warmed up to the unfamiliar agility equipment. I was skeptical if my pup would even get use to it and now she's zooming around with so much excitement! Thanks Zoom Room!! My only complaint is that 6 people in Agility is far too many. We have maybe two -three turns on the equipment, by which time my pup has just warmed up to it and then class is over. I really believe these classes should be lowered to 4 dogs so each dog has ample enough time to enjoy and learn. More...

I'm so happy that a place like Zoom Room exists!! It's a great place to take your dog to play, learn, and shop. My issue is that most of the time when I take my dog to the dog park, it's either full of big dogs or Winnie will come out a hot muddy mess. Since I take her to ZR in the small breed playgroups, I don't have to worry about big dogs trampling her or that I'll have to bathe her upon coming home. All of the staff is incredibly nice and ensure that all of the dogs are having a safe and happy time. Before I started taking her here, I just had to come in for an orientation to learn about what ZR does and also to give them Winnie's shot records and what not. They also have a wide arrangement of classes for obedience, agility (jumping through hoops, like in the dog shows!!), tricks, the list goes on and on. Something for every-paw-dy! ;)Their retail side also carries a lot of items from toys, hygiene, dog accessories, and TONS of treats! Parking is readily available and there's also a place to take your dogs if they need to relieve themselves. They're located across the street from Landstown Commons so they don't have all that super crazy shopping center traffic. Also free coffee for the dog parents! What's not to love!? More...

Zoom Room is top notch dog training! The instructors there are very patient, professional, good with both people & dogs, and really know their stuff. Diego is great! I just had a second day of private training with AJ. I am bringing a border collie for training from a rescue so yes she is looking for her forever home. I had been to Zoom over a year ago and was pleased to see some of the changes Diego has made. After reading some recent reviews, I was thinking Diego was going to be mean or something but no he was very down to earth. So...please don't buy nonrefundable packages, never show up to school and be a hater on Yelp because you didn't get your money back ah hem Sharon and Josie (that is a reflection of yourself and no one else). We had a great experience and are excited to go back for the next training session. I was impressed that I received an email reminder and text message for class (because I needed it with my busy schedule). I also set alarms on my phone so I didn't miss my appointments lol. What a awesome place for dogs.  Their motto is "we don't train dogs. We train the people who love them."  I've never seen anything like this place. It's like a doggie cross fit gym.  They have obedience, agility, tricks, playgroups, and dog parties! !!  I'm watching a class right now after buying a bunch of products that make sense and the other stores don't have.  This is a chain doggy gym but the owners are local and grown up in Hampton roads.  If you need training, products, or other doggy needs or advice this is a must have stop on your list.  Check them out.  I did. I'm coming back. More...

Over a decade ago I lived by then Rocket Video which became Zoom Room. Many years later a year ago I got my dog and went in to find out about training. My little rescue and I ended up at the closer location to where I now live and she was tested and we started training with Krista. My doggie loves it! She's done so well, and AJ, my current trainer, is getting her to do all sorts of tricks and tasks including tunnels in agility. She went from skittish to sweet and calm. For Halloween we took my mother's 15 year old dog to who also loved being there, too. A year in and I'm still going with my pup. I can't recommend them enough. More...
