if branding guidelines already exist (including logo), if domain / hosting has been bought, what the overall look and feel would be (e.g. consumer, corporate etc). Colour preferences if any. What the business does. Timescales. Website functionality (e.g. will it have data capture, eCommerce etc). Does the client need a Content Management System (CMS) to update the content themselves in the future.

Initially try to understand what the client's preferences are that match the target audience. Give advice if necessary. The creative process starts with design mockups in Photoshop and then a feedback process with the client until they are happy.

Branding (if I am not doing this also), domain name / hosting details, overall description of the look and feel, a description of what the business does. Some content to get started with including the menu items (e.g. Home, About, Contact etc).

The combination of geek and creative. At school I loved computers and art, so this is the perfect combination. Every project is so different.

Working for an agency type business with knowledge of how much they were charging, compared to what I was getting paid! I love the freedom and diversity of being self-employed

I love what I do. I am very easy going and enjoy the process of making a client happy with my work. I am a great listener and having started up various business of my own, I understand the process and can offer advice and ideas.

I am educated (probably over-educated!) with BSc in Experimental Psychology and MSc in Computing Science.

I do not need to be micro-managed. I am a grafter and very reliable. I am very friendly too :)
