Delicious!! It was our first time coming here. We opted for tapas over traditional entrees. Tried the meat & cheese platter, baked goat cheese, artichoke and rice croquetas, and the dates. Everything was so good. On top of that, the service was excellent! More...

Stopped by this place during a road trip to Chicago. The servers were kind and helpful, and food was good. We enjoyed 2/3 different tapas, but didn't love one of our choice which were bland (imo) potatoes. Prices aren't that cheap but aren't extravagant. Food seems authentic and the restaurant had a good ambience More...

The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was great!! The dates are simply out of this world (dates, goat cheese and bacon how can you go wrong there ). We ate a few different dishes from the tapas menu and every dish we had was extremely well done and bordering on perfect. I highly recommend eating here. To top it all off we had the turtle cheese cake and I hate to say it however it’s better then mine. Simply amazing. The service was exceptional as well. All around a phenomenal restaurant and I WILL be back again. More...

This place has really good Mediterranean food! And for someone who has never had it and is from out of state, I really enjoyed my time there and the eggplant parmesan sandwich I got. Thanks ladies who served that crazy table of 16 (though half left) on Friday night. More...

Out of the options to eat here in Marshall this one is the most unique and a personal favorite. High quality Spanish influenced food and top of the line seafood. You may have to ask for a couple translations on the menu but otherwise great presentation and great atmosphere with even better food that introduces new menu items weekly. Highly recommend. More...

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed a light dinner here. Our hostess was personable and shared my wife's foodie-ness. We enjoyed the ambience of exposed brick, theme paintings, wood bar, and soft music. Being a cold day, we also enjoyed that there happened to be a heat vent under our table. When we go back, we will wait until that table is open! The food was fantastic. We shared sangria, some of the best clam chowder ever, bacon-wrapped figs that were like candy, a muffaletta sandwich made and toasted to perfection, and some peanut butter cheesecake afterwards.Great food, service, ambience, and appropriate prices. It hit all the marks. More...

What’s your signature dish?
We have two - Scallops with Lemon Thyme Butter accompanied with either Saffron Rice, or Haystack potatoes
Zarzuela de Marisco -is a seafood stew from the coastal region of Spain around Valencia. It is mussels, shrimp, fish, and calamari in a wine fish broth with saffron, paprika, and vegetable.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
I ask what the preferences of the client is, do they have a theme. Asking questions to find any dislikes, or likes that can be made part of the menu. I inquire about food allergy's, Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten Free needs so we do not create any issues for the guests. The where, how many guests, when, is there a program questions to establish the parameters of our event. Do they plan on serving beer, wine, or spirits as part of the event. From that information we develop several options to choose from. Then we do an estimated cost pending final approval of the menu.
What do you love most about your job?
I like having people come together over food to have fun, enjoy the celebration, have that meal. It is the best when we can give the client the wonderful event that people will remember.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was laid-off from my position with a contract food service company at a local hospital. I was having trouble finding a job at my age. A friend connected me with a couple starting a restaurant. They did not have a strong food background, and they needed help. I invested in the company and we opened in July of 2010. Thus Zarzuela was open, I enjoy serving people and giving them a great dining experience. I have worked in the industry my entire working career. It was a natural fit to own the restaurant.
Why should our clients choose you?
We are dedicated on providing the dining experience not just a meal. We want the guest to walk away feeling that they had a great meal at a great event. Whether it is a reunion, meeting, wedding, rehearsal dinner, award event, or just a group of friends.
