Sensei Rocky is amazing. He connects with all of his students of all ages. We had an issue with bullying at school and I let Sensei Rocky know. He immediately taught the entire class self defense. He does incorporate self defense into his usual instruction which he explains to the class. He's also a comedian so class is pretty fun. Amazing karate school! Sensei Rocky loves his students and brings godly teaching and insight in his classes. I am so glad we found Zanshin Shotokan Karate! At first, I wanted my son to take karate lessons to help with respect and obedience, but when my son and daughter tried it out. ..They immediately LOVED it and wanted to do more! Now, both of my kids take lessons and can't wait to go each week and sometimes, multiple times per week! My daughter has more self confidence and my son tries to be helpful and respectful. Karate has even brought my kids closer together. I am so blessed to have this in my kids lives and by the teachings that Sensei Rocky shares from the Bible that apply to all of our lives. Rocky Whatule, a former National Karate Champion, teaches my kids self control, self defense and discipline through the time-honored training of Shotokan Karate. Â His love of the art and the caring for his students is plainly evident during his instruction. Â My son has ADHD and this is one of the areas in his young life where he receives, not only strong encouragement, but practical application of how to properly focus, while at the same time develop the character needed to effect self control in his own life.
