This is the first time I've used a locksmith. I had to fix the driver side key cylinder that was damaged by someone who attempted to use a screw driver to break into the vehicle. I was told by the dealership to purchase all three key cylinders (driver side door, engine, and glove box), to include installation cost. This would've cost a fortune. I even went to a junkyard to search for the part, hoping to get a deal. I actually found what I was looking for, but they could only install the replacement and it would result it having 2 separate keys, which my wife wasn't too excited about. I called Z, and he is truly a miracle worker. He offered to re-key the driver side key cylinder to match the existing one!!! What a blessing!!! I was having issues getting the lock I installed to catch properly. I was also trying to get the lock working before my lunch break was over. Zohar responded quickly and kept me informed of his arrival time via text. He showed up and fixed the issue, even explaining it to me so I could benefit from his knowledge (without paying a locksmith) in the future. My son lost my key to the car and I went down the yelp list of pricing for different places to have to find a decent key replacement. ..I was quoted 120.00 from one place and 175.00 for another....I take the. 120.00 and they come out, the total quickly reached almost 300. I called the first place on my list abd he told me there were no extra charges just 175.00 out the door. At this point the other guys wabt to bargain and I say no....he gets upset and I tell him to leave. He says "I drove 25 minutes for you." I said, You came out scamming, leave." My honda civic's old key is about to break down into pieces. I have texted z San Diego Locksmith and got the appointment, pricing details in the text message. It is not expensive compared to the dealer pricing. Initially the key he made didn't work, but some how he talked to those cars in Japanese and made it work. He is very professional and experienced. These guys are great! Fast, prices inline or cheaper than other's offering the same service, super friendly, great communication and on time! Used Z to replace a lost key on a 1997 Ford F-150. The gentleman came out as scheduled, calling to confirm and telling me when he was on his way, and was just a really nice guy. Made me an extra key at no charge! How can you beat that kind of service? *Please be careful when calling for locksmith's off of Craigslist etc. Many times these are simply answering services that distribute your job to whomever is next on their list* No bueno! A very nice young Isreali-born locksmith, who subcontracts with Z SD Locksmith, established that the malfunctioning door lock just needed an extra twist and a little tightening to regain its funtion-not a new lock. Excellent service! Had emergency situation where code lock jammed and couldn't lock/unlock the door and didn't have actual key; was about to hand property to tenants. I thought that if I found someone who would come out early on a Sunday morning, the cost would be crazy.
