We can't recommend Jo and all the team at Coltsford Mill highly enough. From the first time we visited, they were extremely friendly and helpful, giving us all the information we needed about getting married before we had even decided on the venue. Throughout the wedding planning, the team were on hand to make the experience as stress-free as possible and really helped us to have our dream day. The venue itself is beautiful, regardless of the weather, and although we were lucky enough for it to stay dry throughout the day, we were confident in their wet weather plan had it rained. The staff were so attentive throughout the day and were happy to help with anything, checking in on us frequently and making sure everything was going to plan. The food was also delicious and at no point did any of our guests go hungry! Overall, we would thoroughly recommend Coltsford Mill as a wedding venue. Where do we even begin! We are so happy we chose Coltsford Mill to host our wedding day. We scoured countless venues, and the team at Coltsford and their beautiful venue stood out hugely among the rest. Coltsford Mill make you a part of their team, as opposed to some ‘leave-you-to-it’ type venues. Amazingly attentive and personal - they were the only venue we visited to ask us about us, how we got engaged, etc. If you don’t choose Coltsford (which you should), make sure you find somewhere that will work with you like this. It made planning our wedding so fun, rather than stressful. The venue itself is stunning, set within a beautiful lake, with plenty of areas for your wedding day photos. The food is incredible too - we had a lovely tasting evening with them, and our guests were raving about it on the night. Excellent selection of drinks, as well. On the day itself, the team helped us with everything, making us able to fully enjoy the day and not worry about anything. We had a lot of guests, and despite this, there was still ample space - with a lovely heated outdoor area for a winter wedding. Highly recommend for your wedding. The venue speaks for itself, beautiful grounds and lakes, almost like it was taken right out of a movie. Inside the buildings are so beautifully done up that you don't even need to add anything yourself. The food was immense, everyone throughly enjoyed it! The staff were amazing too. The entire day they were so attentive and friendly to all of our guests. Everyone was excellent and incredibly helpful. Catering and planning from Jan and Nikki was beyond expectations. As a wedding videography supplier it always counts for a lot if a venue is friendly and on point. I had a great experience filming a wedding earlier this year at Coltsford Mill. Bridal preparations were in the bridal cottage which was a lovely initimate space perfect for getting ready in. The ceremony took place in the Mill Room which was very picturesque with its historic detail. The wedding breakfast took place in the Watermill Barn which is a lovely open space surrounded by windows. Couldn't recommend this venue enough for your wedding day. From start to finish our queries were always responded to within hours, nothing was too much and it was obvious that the team really cared and wanted us to have a wonderful day. This made our preparations so much easier and stress free. This was matched on the day itself, the team were so helpful and supportive and did more for us than I had expected. There is literally not a single thing we can identify that we would want to change or feel could have been better and this is down to the beautiful venue and location and the team at Coltsford Mill. Our guests also commented on how lovely the staff were, how smoothly the dinner service ran, how amazing the food was and what a perfect venue and day it was. This location is beautiful it has so many things to offer. The staff are very accommodating and will go above and beyond to help you in what you need. We had lots of different things going on in our day but the staff members were so helpful we didn’t have to worry about anything. They are very good at forward planning and making sure you feel comfortable and are at home. If you’re not sure about things they will help you but setting different scenarios especially when it comes to how you want things set up for your day. The food is out of this world. The food is worth every penny. The portions are right and the food is very well cooked. If you are not sure about what you want whether it be who your photographer is going to be or who is going to do your cake for you Coltsford Mill have it covered and again will put you at ease. We love capturing wedding days in a bespoke way, telling the story of each unique day to its fullest potential.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Richard Barden founded 2020Video.tv in 1996 after leaving his job of 20 years as a manager for British Railways. His passion was always media and was commissioned to produce several films for the railways and government whilst working. He has now filmed around 1000 weddings and is also a fully trained photographer, learning from award winning film photographers.
The company is now run by his son David, who went straight from graduating at university to working alongside his father. David filmed his first wedding at 16 years old and has always been into the latest techniques and setting new trends and style.
