What do you love most about your job?
I get a buzz from knowing those I work with and help get what they need, whether it's a business owner who expands their team or someone looking for a new job who secures that ideal next career move.
Making people happy is an awesome responsibility and one I and my team of people partners take very seriously.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My son. easy as that. He had a brain tumour at age 3 and I found myself somewhat unemployable. Well, I had the skills and the desire, but who was going to hire a mum who had a son with some serious medical and life-long needs?
So I did what my son did. I created my own destiny and started my own business.
My other inspiration in starting my own talent acquisition and management business stems from my dislike of the norms within the recruitment industry. A CV does not equate to whether someone is your ideal next employee. An industry which doesn't want to be an added value business partner with the companies it helps is not one which I have been proud of being a part of. So I set about rewriting the rules. With Your People Partners, we replace the onus of a beautifully written CV and ensure we assess and chat with everyone who applies regardless of their fit based on paper. We've found the best new employees have the right attitude, strong cultural fit and desire to learn. You can't get this based on a CV!
Why should our clients choose you?
Bark's clients should choose me because I take real pride in being an extension of your business.
When a potential new employee speaks with me or one our people partners, they will get a real feel for you and your company, and what your vacancy solves for you and your team. We invest a lot of time in ensuring people understand who you are, what you do and who you're looking for.
Many recruiters work and want to work with large companies where it's a 'bums on seats' philosophy so they can quickly make money.
I don't work with corporates. I've done my fair share which includes HP, Intel, Orange, SAP amongst those I've helped...in the past. My desire is to ensure the smaller, yet entrepreneurial companies in the UK get an even better level of hiring and people help than any other sector of industry. Helping business owners to grow their companies is what I live for, after all, I'm also a business owner and know how vital awesome, talented people are to the vision and future of our businesses.
We also don't send you tonnes of CVs. What's the point in that? A CV doesn't tell you everything you need to know (unless you're hiring a CV writer).
If you want an expert who can represent your company and brand, then let's talk.
If you want a recruiter who showers you with CVs, then I'm not right for you.
