This is Dr Maryam from YouGlo. I like to take this opportunity to provide some information on dermal fillers as there is a misconception on how they work. A filler is an injectable gel; a colourless hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into facial tissues to smooth wrinkles and folds; in lips, smile lines, chin, cheeks, nose, under eyes and forehead. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the body. It hydrates the skin by maintaining water, so in this way fillers are able to create volume in tissues.There are currently 180 brands of filler in the market. Regardless of the brand, all the fillers are the same. They are all made of hyaluronic acid and so last same amount of time. Unfortunately, some companies spend a lot of money on advertising and make false claims that their filler is superior. This is untrue. The amount of time a filler lasts depends on the enzymes you have in your body that will break down the filler.Most side effects of fillers are mild or moderate in nature and usually last less than 7 days. The most common side effects include temporary injection site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. As with all skin injection procedures, there is risk of infection, which will normally present within 3 days of injection and resolve in 2 weeks. It is impossible to suffer from side effects several years after treatment. She is the best that you can find in the aesthetics business. She takes her time to speak with you to understand what effect I'm trying to go for and sometimes she would recommend me an alternative treatment that will do a better job.
