For the past 4 months I've carried a weight on my shoulders that was threatening to bury me and I knew that something needed to change.
I made the decision to begin some counselling and contacted Nicci as I'd heard some excellent reviews of her work.
This was one of my best decisions; that weight has been lifted and I feel much more able to make further decisions as a result of Nicci's exemplary listening skills and her gentle encouragement of my own ability to view the situation in a less threatening and more positive manner.
I will not hesitate to engage Nicci's skills in the future and can highly recommend her as an excellent counsellor.

Q&As

I believe that everybody has the potential to be what they want to be; and that whatever is to be found, is to be found within ourselves. Sometimes we just need the support of another to recognise this.

The key to my therapeutic counselling practice is not telling you what you need to do. I don’t give answers: what I do is provide a safe space for you to come to your own solutions. I accompany, support and ‘hold’ you through your journey to healing. My role is to be present with unconditional love and acceptance, devoid of judgement. For me this is a whole life practice, as I strive to embody these qualities in my daily life, both in and out of the therapy setting.

I build strong helping relationships, within the safety and boundaries of the counselling framework.

You might feel better after talking to me for the first time, or you might not and either reaction is okay. Some people feel a bit unsettled after their first session but this doesn’t mean it’s not for them – counselling can bring up difficult stuff, and everyone has their own reaction. It can also be because the first session contains lots of questions about what is going on and not so much counselling. It usually gets better after this! It might take a few sessions before any benefits become clear, so stick it out for a little bit.
