Personal Trainers

I worked with Wallace at You Be Fit for 9 months and words really can’t fully describe how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to work with him. You Be Fit offers in person and virtual training, tailored to your fitness goals as well as your physical needs. Several times I would tell Wallace something I was struggling with, and he would tailor my next week of training with exercises to help me with the specific issue. For example, I had mentioned some tightness in my shoulder, and the next week my daily exercises included stretches and strengthening movements to help me with it. Wallace is extremely encouraging, but at the same time, will not settle for less than what you are capable of. He helps push you in a healthy and correct way, that effectively helps you reach whatever physical goals you are looking to achieve. I was able to lose 20 pounds working with Wallace. However, weight was never the goal for me, and Wallace understood and respected that. Working with him helped me become stronger, more energized, and helped me gain a different perspective on fitness. I also gained a mentir and friend and he is extremely kind and genuine. My health and fitness journey with Wallace/You-Be-Fit started in 2019. It has been a wonderful experience and life changer. Working out has become a normal routine and it doesn’t feel like a chore especially in group fitness Zoom or in-person sessions. I once heard Wallace, say “It’s not about having enough time to work out, it's all about what you prioritize.” Over time, I noticed that prioritizing time to work out, tracking my meals and liquids became easier for me.

Also, the camaraderie with the Wallace, is very friendly, encouraging and he does a great job of making everyone feel like family. 

The best things about this journey are I have a completely different mindset, increased energy and I have more confidence.

My first involvement with You Be Fit was through an advertisement for a senior boot camp. I decided to explore this opportunity and never looked back. I’ve been involved with You Be Fit since approximately March 2019. It was the beginning of the Covid pandemic and I was exploring opportunities to keep my self fit. I participated in a 60 day challenge body transformation program and lost 18 pounds through assigned exercises and dietary changes. Wallace‘s approach to weight loss is through healthy lifestyle changes along with exercise and dietary changes. He holds you accountable and you have got to put the work in!! He has a lot of energy so don’t try keeping up with him – just do you!! I’ve had some health challenges along the way and I’m still with the program. To date, I’ve lost 30 pounds and don’t intend to gain it back. I’ve dropped 2 dress sizes and wear a size 8 to 10. His workshops, one on one meetings, motivational videos, affirmations and scriptures help you to be a better you. YouBeFit is an excellent program that allows individuals (especially women) to explore and understand the power of their strength. The program provides a combination of cardio, strength training, nutritional advise/expertise and affirmations. Wallace is extremely focused and serious about his craft as well as my health overall. I started training with Wallace on April 1, 2019 after the devastating loss of my husband in August. During that time, I found myself not in a good place physically and mentally. While trying to struggle my way through, I did what felt familiar and comfortable to me which was go to the gym and work out to relieve stress. The problem was I wasn’t fully committed. During a workout session of water aerobics, I noticed this energetic instructor pushing people of all ages through a very vigorous workout. I thought to myself that is what I need. So I put my name down on the clip board for more information. The next day I started receiving emails
and motivational YouTube videos from Wallace about health, nutrition and exercises. As I started to engage in the information I thought ok, it’s time to get yourself together. So I reached out and that was the beginning of my journey to get fit with YoubeFit. These past few months have been one of the most the hardest, but rewarding times in my life. Wallace has pushed me beyond what I ever expected of myself. I started with 8 lbs weights and can now lift up to 25lbs in 6 months. The cool thing about training with Wallace is that it is not only about the physical, but he ensures you are mentally ready. He holds you accountable and inspires you at the same time. Wallace is phenomenal. He has inspired me to continue working hard, he shift my mindset in very positive ways. If you are in doubt and worried about failing, Wallace simple method of motivation and empowerment helps to improve one’s mood. All his exercises are fun, energizing and motivational!

Within a short 6 weeks, I was able to gain buns and guns (inside joke) lol.

There is something remarkable and unique about Wallace Merriman\You-Be-Fit. As a person who has experienced obesity for many years, (all of my life actually), I began to feel that obesity and all of the diseases that accompany it, was just my unfortunate destiny. Much of my time and money had been spent on weight loss programs, fitness organizations, weight loss pills (lies), and misinformation, all of which left me with dietary brain clutter and defeat. When I connected with Wallace and You-Be-Fit, I was at a desperate point in my life...grotesquely overweight, tremendously sick (13 meds a day), and unproductive attitude! Wallace immediately recognized the space that I was in and began encouraging me, deprogramming me, addressing my fears and leading me to a balanced exercise and nutritional path that I am still following today. Let me just say, MY LIFE HAS BEEN CHANGED! A year later, I am 100 pounds down, healthier than I have ever been and feeling successful! Mr. Wallace, is a superb trainer. He keeps you motivated, and focused. Even when you miss your mark, he gives you encouragement to keep going to try again the next day. I received daily motivations, water CV checks and healthy recipes.
I gave up my saltine crackers that unknown to me was killing me slowly. Through the be fit app I discovered what I was eating and its fat and calorie count. It made me change what i was digesting. Not a diet but a life change.

Special note: Awesome meal replacement granola bars and drinks. They really help because before I was skipping meals which didn't help

You Be Fit was not just a game changer, but a LIFE CHANGER!

Sometimes you dont realize how ignorant you are on a matter until someone more aware comes in and teaches you or exposes you to things you never thought could be a part of your norm.

Coach Wallace has been that! Nothing short of a Godsend! I will say the biggest and most important thing that has shifted is my mindset. I came in to the initial consultation like "Is this even possible?" and I left like "Amanda, you are going to do this!" His professionalism, yet confidence/ overall knowledge had me wanting to know more. I won't lie I was saying ouch inwardly because I had been neglecting my health for so long but I knew that this was a HUGE decision, like a new job, a new house...yep that big...because it would cause me to take in a WHOLE new LIFESTYLE!

I was dehydrating myself, starving myself, not exercising, unmotivated, self image (how I viewed myself was thumbs down) just really blaah and wondering what is wrong with me because this just CAN'T be me. Now I'm well hydrated, eating clean, exercising....wait did I mention actually excited to exercise...pushing through/motivated...excited of who I am becoming!

"Your health is your wealth" is always playing in my head...blame Wallace..which was not the case a little over a month ago. I am creating a new norm. The accountability is necessary...to have someone walk alongside you and pull out what you thought was impossible...there's depth there. I have a community I didnt even know I needed..between Boot Camp Conditioning, AquaFit classes and personal training. My life has no choice but to change!

I am just saying if you want to invest in you and get your WHOLE life together You Be Fit is the way to go!

Wallace is superb!!! I attend his Aqua Fit class 2-3 times per week. Easily burn 300-350 calories per session, increase your heart rate & burn some fat! ! I have so much more energy & feel great!! What more can you ask for!!! He offers a nutrition class focusing on clean, healthy eating which is very informative. There is so much misinformation out there about diet, exercise, and nutrition, people get so confused and don’t know what to do. So we start, get overwhelmed, get discouraged and then stop. What we do at You-Be-Fit is help you understand the basics of diet, exercise, and nutrition, position you closer to your personal goals, provide direction, support, and accountability and establish a game plan for you that will last a lifetime instead of a moment in time.

It’s important we understand that even if you pile on the fruits and vegetables, drink plenty of juice and milk, and eat fish a couple of times a week, we may not be getting all the nutrients we need. We need help to fill the gap between what’s in the food we eat and the nutrition our body needs for optimum health and to help us avoid chronic conditions and diseases down the road. The problem is that most people don’t eat right or exercise properly. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and help people who want better health, walk through the nutritional maze and make it safely to the other side!

Having the ability to help people move from where they are to where they want to be! It is my passion to help people heal themselves through good nutrition and fitness habits and behaviors, and make a positive impact on the world. An effective personal trainer needs to be able to explain to others in simple layman terms how the body works and the implications of proper nutrition and exercise. In the same way that you work with a personal trainer in the gym, remote training allows you to receive one-on-one attention or to train in a group online setting with others who have similar goals. You Be Fit does not only focus on exercise. Although exercising is an important part, you must also consider nutrition, rest, eliminating bad habits, and having a qualified trainer who can demonstrates exercises and evaluates your form, and offers corrections, advice, and motivation.

COVID-19 has allowed me to develop new methods to provide my clients with the best possible experience. Trainers had to rethink their strategy in order to accommodate those who are unable to attend in person. My business has transitioned into an online model that provides virtual bootcamps, one-on-one sessions, nutritional workshops, wellness, and habit coaching. Number one was just embracing the idea of using technology to drive communication and workouts. Despite the pandemic, my clients continued to lose weight, keep the weight off, build muscle, follow mindful eating practices, and have a positive attitude while many of their peers were in a rut.
