Yolanda made me feel beautiful for the Marine Corps Ball. I felt beautiful and confident because of her great work. My make up and hair lasted all night long and i got too many compliments to count. Yolanda is a true miracle worker! I had an appointment to get maternity photos done and was hospitalized for 4 days, prior to the day before my photos, due to preterm labor. I not only felt awful, but looked it as well. Once at my appointment with her, she asked what I liked and wanted my makeup to look like, but being the indecisive person I am, I let her do what she thought would look best and I couldn't of asked for more. I was so glad I trusted her opinion, as she made me look and feel more beautiful than I thought possible. I didn't even want to wash my face that night, after the shoot! Wonderful make up session with Yolanda Lake in my home this week. I was getting ready for a photo shoot for my upcoming book, Space of Love: Understanding the Power of Thought and Wisdom in Living with Autism. The makeup was absolutely perfect for me. I can only say good things about this school! As a student of SMI, I am forever grateful for choosing this school to get my aesthetician license. The instructors truly care about you and will make sure you get the best education! They are filled with knowledge and really prepare us! They also provide us 3 state board practice tests so we are ready for it once we graduate, which is awesome considering most schools do not offer that. The staff and front desk are all so sweet and make me look forward to school everyday! I created forever friendships with my fellow classmates and met some amazing clients who came in. The schedule is great, I was able to work full time while attending school. Best decision I made was coming to this school! Best decision I ever made was coming to this school! The instructors really push you to do your best and you can tell they care about each student. The small class sizes make it easy for the instructors to give you that one on one teaching time to answer any questions you have! They also offer A LOT of continuing education classes! I've done eyelash extensions, dermaplaning, Brazilian waxing and advanced peels and they were all amazing and beneficial! Go to this school if you are serious about aesthetics! More...

If you want the best education around then you’ll defiantly want to attend The Skin and Makeup Institute, they have the best set of instructors around who will supply you with everything you need to know about the skin. They are all incredibly kind and intelligent people who want the best for you and do everything they can to adapt to your learning style. I am currently a student at SMI. My experience so far has been AMAZING! The owner Ms Jackie takes much pride in her school and prepares you for a successful career.
The whole STAFF makes you feel very important and my instructors Ms Karen / Ms Jackie have given me so much knowledge they truly are incredible. I have researched many schools and found that the school gives you much more education and other opportunities as far as makeup and or if you are looking to pursue a career in the medical field for Aesthetics/laser.

As a recent graduate from The Skin and Makeup Institute, this is by far one of the best schools that I have attended. The instructors are passionate in what they do and what they teach. They work very hard to make sure that their students succeed! SMI offers a lot of different classes such as, Brazilian Waxing, Professional Makeup, Dermablading, etc. A few schools I looked at before attending Skin and Makeup Institute, did not offer add-on classes for my education. At the Skin and Makeup Institute, you learn how to do a microdermabrasion and perform a chemical peel successfully. You get a lot of hands on time to practice everything you learn. The instructors are always around when you need help. They are there for you and your education! This school has a HIGH passing rate for State Boards! They offer THREE practice runs through the whole state board exam to make sure you will be ready when you graduate. Coming from experience, I just took my State Boards and sure enough, I passed! Its all thanks to my instructors who have taught me and helped me through. I highly recommend attending The Skin and Makeup Institute, not because I attended there and I am saying you should, but because I honestly do believe that this is by far the best school to get your education from!
