My company is called OKA (pronounced 'oh-ka') and its focus is on Human resources, payroll and pension administration services and life coaching. The company has existed for nearly 5-years and has focused on supporting small medium sized businesses, providing practical solutions. I have nearly 15 years of experience in HR and coaching. I am CIPD-qualified, use the latest in HR practices, regularly maintain my continuous development (ask your contractor about the latest in employment law/ HR practices before you hire them!), rely on great original material when developing templates and consultant my own employment lawyers for the most unique and complex issues. I'm a trained coach for both individuals and teams.

*** COACHING ***
When selecting a coach you need someone that you can trust and respect. The coaching relationship can be very intimate and personal and I take my role, as Coach, very seriously.
>> Face-to-face/ Telephone: The first of the five sessions is face-to-face with the remaining over the telephone. This allows me to voice solely on your voice and your message without being distracted by the background.
>> Tool/ Exercises: I use various tools to help you attain your goal(s). Most of these have been created exclusively by me, and are often unique to each client. They will help you discover more about yourself.
>> Time/ Process: Our sessions will be held once a fortnight (every two-weeks) for 5-weeks after which we'd take a break for at least a month - this is to ensure you do not become too dependent on the process - before we re-evaluate starting another cycle.
>> Packages: I have designed specific coaching programmes for Executives/ Leaders, Stress Management, Public Speaking, Confidence-building and 'Quarter-life crisis' e.g. relating specifically to issues faced by 26 - 35 year olds.

Provision of the full spectrum of HR duties from HR administration, operational/ day-to-day activities and creating a tailored HR strategy.
>> RECRUITMENT& SELECTION: Finding hard-to-recruit positions, full recruitment cycle, developing job adverts/ job descriptions and person criteria, interviewing, visa application/ management and training Team managers on how to interview and appropriately.
>> EMPLOYEE RELATIONS: Conducting disciplinary, grievances, capability issues and investigations, drafting hearing and dismissals letters, advising Team managers on how to deal with (long- and short-term) sickness, absence management and sensitive aspects e.g. bullying and harassment and dealing with senior employees.
>> PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT: dealing with poor performance, developing internal rewards and incentives for good employees, Performance Review policies and procedures, creating performance management templates and training managers on these matters.
>> ORGANISATIONAL CHANGE: Negotiating changes to employee contracts, selecting employee and trade union representatives, dealing with redundancies, organisational restructures and internal communication.
>> LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT: Assessing your team/ organisation's skills, designing training programmes with external providers, running internal HR training (Coaching, Recruitment, Employee Relations and Performance Management) and creating large training plans.

Payroll (Chartered Accountant/ ACCA):
* Manage the monthly reconciliation of HMRC payments, company pension, childcare vouchers, cycle to work scheme, season ticket loans etc.
* Produce payroll reports on the impact of changes on employee compensation and benefits, preparation of the gross and net reports
* Processing of statutory forms e.g. P11D, P45, P46; and and company payments (e.g. Maternity, Paternity, Sickness, Holiday)
* Informed individual to deal with any employee issues and concerns in a timely manner
* Whether using Quickbooks, Xero or ProAdviser

Pension administration:
* Set-up the auto-enrolment processes for everyone joining the company
* Ensure the accurate and timely processing of monthly pension contributions and compliance with auto-enrolment obligations
* Ensure the timely removal of individuals from the system as they leave the organisation

I looked at the goal list I set in the beginning of the coaching (3 sessions ago) and actually we have addressed all of these and in addition my lack of sales spirit. I am super happy with how far we've come with the goal of starting my business, I never imagined that I would get that far. Oddly this has also helped with my lack of clarity goal now that I think about it, since the steps to take are more defined, and I'm no longer intimidated by the whole thing. I've learned to take the big task into smaller components and these I can cope with.

I feel I have reached my set goals with your help and you have been a wonderful coach. It was the first coaching experience for me and I love this format, it's focused and organized and dealing with issues that can be changed now. You have helped me a lot, much more than I had hoped for. I never imagined it can have such practical results so fast :)

The sessions were very useful, and you forced me (in a good way) to admit something to myself. By the way, I am getting better right now, try to focus my energy on something I like. Let's see what happens though! Thank-you!

Yinka Q&A

Yinka Q&A

What do you love most about your job?

I enjoy the variety in my role and being able to bring creativity, best practice and some innovation to my clients' needs. I work very hard to ensure that all my clients' expectations are met and more often exceeded. Working with HR and Coaching, it's not always as simple as relying on a formula. It requires listening, research and searching for the best solution - I like the appreciation and satisfaction clients give when I've clearly delivered what they're after. With payroll and pensions administration, it is often considered a necessary "evil" with little gratitude. However, I applaud myself on being able to constantly deliver without any errors and in a manner which builds and sustains trust.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I wanted to push myself as much as possible - test the boundaries of my HR/ coaching skills, demonstrate my tenacity and create something that I will be proud of in the long-term. Though I've taken a reduction in the material things in life, I am remarkably happier. I will like my clients to experience that increase in their happiness too by focussing on what they want out of life. Payroll and pensions are a nature extension of HR Consulting - I've learnt a lot about this process over the past few years and the more I delve into it, the more I thoroughly enjoy it!

Why should our clients choose you?

People should choose me because I am a dedicated professional with practical experience to help them get them most out of life and to achieve their goals. This is not about me, it's about you (or your company's) future and prosperity. I make sure the relationship is orientated to have your needs met and ideally succeeded. I've been doing this for several years and know what you need now, what issues you ought to prepare for and how to avoid bottlenecks and pitfalls. You will not find a better external service provider in these areas.
