I'm reviewing this CrossFit gym after being a member for 1.5 years. This is by far one of the best gym I could call it as 'Home' and it lives by its name 'Xtreme' Gym: it's very clean. Amazing gym. Tracy and Neal makes sure that things are in order. They equipments/weights are fairly new. Neal is amazing trainer and an athlete by heart. I love his workout program. He is technically very strong and brings the best out of everyone.Sure this gym is not for everyone. But if you come and follow Neal's advice, you'll learn good movement standards and you'll be stronger thats for sure.I'd love to come back to this gym anytime i move to South Bay. More...

I can not recommend CrossFit Xtreme Athletics enough! I first joined with the 6 week boot camp challenge. Not only did I have one of the best experiences of my life as I watched my body change getting leaner, stronger, faster, and more athletic but I also thoroughly enjoyed the way it changed my mind. Under the coaching of Neil and Tracy you get more than just moves to do for the days workout. You receive education! You learn how to connect with your body, the importance of proper form, how to push yourself beyond your own mental blocks, how to show up with an active mind, and how to challenge yourself in ways you never imagined were possible. I enjoyed the boot camp challenge so much I joined as an ongoing member. Being a part of the Xtreme Athletics team has taught me so much about myself, my body and what I THOUGHT my limits were. I am constantly provided with expanding mental strength seeing what I am able to accomplish with the right focus, determination, and will power. The supportive environment here, community vibe and phenomenal coaching from Neil and Tracy creates the perfect recipe for staying motivated and on track for reaching your goals.A word of truth, it will not easy. I am so grateful to have discovered Cross Fit X-Treme Athletics and been blessed with the opportunity to learn and train under the coaching of Neil Maddox and Tracy Creal. Every workout is fun, exciting, challenging, unique and very thoughtfully put together in a way that pushes your body and mind to the  X-Treme! Since joining, my fitness goals of leaning out, gaining muscle mass, getting stronger, and developing coordination have been accomplished and each day that I show up ready to put in the work I find a new barrier is overcome and amazing growth takes place in body, mind and spirit.The thing that I can say sets Cross Fit X-Treme athletics apart from the rest is Neil and Tracy genuinely CARE about you. I am so glad I came across this place. It has been the catalyst to helping me become healthy again and making exercise and eating healthy my top priority. In my first 6 weeks I lost over 6% body fat and am feeling great. Tracy is a fantastic trainer and really motivates you and holds you accountable. The place is clean, inviting and perfect for all fitness levels. Don’t be afraid if you are just starting out. They cater to all levels and help you improve and grow as the weeks go by. I have been attending this gym for a few years but i had never watched my diet until i started the 6 week challenge. Joining the 6 week challenge has allowed me to compliment the excercise with the correct way of eating. I have seen a big change in my energy levels, and overall fitness. I’ve been with the X-treme team for a while and recently completed the 60 day belly blast challenge. It works! I lost 15 lbs, several inches in the waist and 2% fat. I feel better than I have in years and it’s simply become a new way of eating rather than a diet. At 51 I finally feel fit again. The gym is a great environment where members support each other. I have been a member at this gym for about 3 years and as I get older in my 40s I have realized I still need a lot of help with mobility and becoming a better version of me. This Box will help you do that! Amazing trainers and good vibes with a great community of people who motivate and push you through when all you want to do is rest./quit. We just finished a 6 week Belly Fat Blast Challenge and I successfully completed it, losing 10 lbs and 2% body fat, this challenge is maintainable and I have already lost another 2 lbs after the challenge has ended. If you are searching for a place whether you are an athlete by nature or just someone who needs to get in shape, this is where you should start! All levels are welcome, they modify based on you and as I mentioned its a great community of people all here for the same reason, our health and to look and feel good! In addition the gym keeps you accountable, by signing up for classes, logging your workouts (so you can see your progress), and they will call or text if you fail to show up for a couple days! I'm 41 years old and in the absolute best shape of my life. I owe it all to Neal Maddox and the team at Crossfit X-treme Athletics. Since starting at the gym in October of 2016, I've shed 65+ pounds. When I first walked through the doors, I was just 2 years past having a heart attack, grossly overweight, and desperate for a transformation.My first day, my first week, my first month - they were all really hard, and I was really embarrassed by how out of shape I was. I was able to stick to it because of the expert guidance of the coaches and supportive community of members.We've all heard the horror stories of gruesome crossfit injuries, but those just don't happen at CFXA. Although the programming is designed to push you, the highly trained coaches know every single member and what level they are at in their fitness journey. They make sure you have your form and technique down before moving on to heavy weights or advanced moves. In nearly 3 years, I've barely experienced anything worse than just being really sore.I've had the opportunity to workout at other gyms across the country while traveling, so I can say with confidence that X-treme Athletics is truly a special place. We just completed the Belly Fat Blast Challenge 6 weeks of a structured eating style with high protein and for someone who is always fluctuating weight, this challenge is definitely maintainable. I’ve been a member of this gym for 3 years and have done a lot of the different meal challenges and by far they’re all good in their own way but this one I am dropping at least 1-2 pounds a week and I’ve lost 12 pounds total almost 7 weeks, and I plan to continue eating like this forever it’s a great challenge to be able to maintain for the long run! In addition to making it to the gym 3 to 5 days a week and working out with some amazing trainers! In the last year I’ve had a lot of health issues, and I’ve always suffered with mobility issues, and this Gym will modify workouts to what you need to continue coming, and I greatly appreciate that! Just wanted to share my wonderful experience thus far with this facility! My girlfriend and I got our foot in the door with the 6 week challenge.  Needless to say the workouts are definitely challenging however you have 2 extremely supportive and motivational trainers (Neal and Tracy)showing you the right way to do each and every move. They have pushed us to go further than we thought we were capable of.  The group/class atmosphere is very friendly, everyone roots for one another creating a very friendly open environment no matter your fitness level. We were so happy with our results in the 6 week challenge, where I lost 20 lbs, that we decided to sign up and become full time members.The gym and equipment are well cared for and the dogs are super sweet and definitely cheer you up after a tough work out. I cannot express how much gratitude I have for coaches Tracy and Neal. 6 weeks ago, I nervously responded to an advertisement on Facebook. What enticed me the most about the AD was that the clients were having fun and smiling during their workouts. Then I saw the challenge, I nervously responded to the AD and quickly received a response from Tracy! It sank in that I was about to get back on track with my health and fitness. Her enthusiasm affirmed that I was so ready to to give it my best shot! When I met with her to go over my goals, she was super supportive and made me feel like my goals were not far fetched. Everyone who steps foot in this gym is awesome! The vibes and amazing and the workouts are even more enjoyable! These past 6 weeks were nothing short of sweat and smiles! I highly recommend Xtreme Athletics!  I have been a member for years, and cannot say enough about Neal and Tracey, the owners.  I am 52 years old, and have been with Xtreme Athletics since 2006.  After my second child, Neal gave me a workout and nutrition plan that got me back down to my pre-baby weight.  Over the years, I have continued to train at the gym, as it keeps me in the best shape, especially as I am getting older.Training or getting fit is a very personal journey, and at  Xtreme Athletics, Neal has put together programs tailored to the individuals.  His knowledge of body mechanics, muscular heath, and nutrition are the best I have ever seen.  He is an expert at training, nutrition and recovery, which frankly most trainers only train, and do not have the knowledge or expertise in nutrition.  I have done both, personal training with Neal, as well as the classes.  They are both excellent.  The 1:1 training you get with Neal is awesome.  He teaches movement, technique, and builds a program based on your personal goals.  The classes are just as great.  I have met so many wonderful people over the years.  We push and support each other in a very positive way.As far as the gym itself, the gym is always clean, pristine even.  Neal and Tracy both have a lot of pride in their gym, and keep it extremely clean for each class.  They do ask people to clean their equipment when they are done working out, and that is just good gym etiquette. Everyone treats the place like their own, and in order to have nice equipment, it takes not only the owners, but the customers to respect the equipment that Neal and Tracy make available to all of its members.  Overall, this is the best gym I have ever been a part of.  Neal and Tracy are amazing, motivating trainers, and I would never consider another gym. I have gone to a couple of community days at X-Treme and the people were extremely friendly. During the workouts I received motivating feedback from multiple trainers on how to improve form regarding specific movements, as well as, positive motivation from my workout partner (a gym regular). Other gyms will have chalk all over the place, heavily crowded, or old equipment. This gym is very clean, spacious and the equipment is new. I have never been a gym rat but noticing some strength loss in my mid-30s, I started Neal's workout regimen. I was pretty surprised how quickly I gained strength back and noticed a big upswing in strength and stamina.I highly recommend this X-treme Athletics. More...

I highly recommend X-treme Athletics.Over the past 2 years or so I noticed a loss of strength and overall movement range. I still wanted to enjoy surfing, playing pickup basketball and touch rugby without seriously injuring myself . Lets face it, typically the more in shape you are the better you are at your leisure sport/hobby.After going to a community day at X-Treme Athletics I started Neal's plan and I couldn't be happier. I was pretty surprised how quickly I gained strength back and noticed a large increase in stamina too. Even though I trained while playing multiple sports (football, basketball, baseball in HS; rugby during and after college), I would never consider myself a gym rat. I kept in OK to decent shape over the past 8-10 by running. However I highly enjoyed the change into more lift movements and got much stronger than I anticipated. Don't get me wrong, Neal's program will make you sweat quite a bit.The gym is spacious, clean and has new equipment. You don't have to worry about gym chalk everywhere (why does everyone think they are Lebron James?) or waiting for that one machine to open up as some dude with headphones in just sits at it so that you can go home. I have had nothing but great experiences at this gym. Neal and Tracy are both such encouraging coaches and facilitate top-notch workouts (I can't speak for any of the other trainers mentioned in other reviews because I've only attended classes/training by these two). This gym is really clean. Like, who's ever had a good experience in a gym bathroom?! These ones are clean.You can't beat being trained by a Crossfit champion. I've never been so sore in my life as when I first attended Neal's classes. Throughout the entire class he gives tips and feedback, it's almost like you're getting personal 1:1 training, but in a group setting (and without the cost :).Being trained by Tracy got me into the best shape of my life.When you join this gym, you join a community. It's not just about the workouts - Neal and Tracy also have events, like a group run on Thanksgiving and the holiday party, so you get to know the people you work out with (which I love, as someone who moved out here without knowing many people). Continues to Impress - I can't say enough about Crossfit X-Treme, especially living in the Bay Area, where you rarely get a value for your money.  The quality of coaching remains phenomenal, the equipment pristine, and the community (both new and old) supportive and inspiring.  If someone were to ask why I believe this gym rains supreme, it would have to do with the modification component they pride themselves on.  No matter who you are and in what condition you may be in (regarding injury), you will be challenged in a way that will not aggravate your injury.   You see, I'm in my mid 40's and not as strong (or flexible) as my counterparts at the gym.  Neal and Tracy (the owners) always seem to find a modified workout that makes me feel a part of the WOD (Workout of the Day), without skimping on the intensity.  I can't thank them enough for what they have allowed me to achieve.  I highly recommend if you are in the market to consider a gym, give Crossfit X-treme a try.  It's definitely a place you can gain results.  I can honestly say that I've never left that gym after a workout in a bad mood, because it's always been nothing but good. CrossFit X-treme Athletics is a gym where you have the opportunity to exercise, learn, meet new people, and have fun. It is extremely well furnished, has ample equipment, and offers a schedule with a lot of options. I dropped into X-treme Athletics for three days for their CrossFit classes (while visiting the area). I can't say enough good things about this place! Tracey was very welcoming -- in fact, all the members were welcoming, encouraging and positive. If I lived here, this is where I would go for CrossFit Classes. CrossFit is a community, and I certainly felt that vibe from day 1. I had Neal Maddox as my coach for all three days. Wow! The Quality of coaching and instruction is excellent. I had a few lingering injuries, and they worked with me based on my ability - scaling the workouts as needed. The gym itself is very clean, it's well ventilated, and spacious. What's also pretty cool (literally) is that they have a Cryotherapy chamber, which is excellent for recovery. In fact, my daughter is attending sessions due to a torn meniscus. It's not just for injuries - it can help with just overall soreness. Overall, one of the best places I have ever dropped into for a CrossFit Class. Tracy & Richard were great to work with. I did their 6 weeks challenge and really enjoyed the support and encouragement I received from them. The meal plan is also a great perk although is completely self paced.  They are all about training safely.  The gym is clean and well furnished with equipment. Parking is free which is a plus! This place is amazing. I cannot thank this team enough! I've been coming here for nearly three years, since they opened at this location. My boyfriend just joined and he loves it. The team and community here are so inclusive, whether it be fitness level, adaptive physical abilities, and even with social differences. The workout is amazing because when I was new and was VERY out of shape, they modified the workouts so I could complete them and continue to get stronger. Now these days I'm doing things I never imagined. I trust them with training my boyfriend as well, who is brand new to CrossFit. He is a pre professional dancer and cannot risk injury. It is a safe way for him to build up his strength and conditioning. If you're new to fitness, or if your a professional athlete (yes we have members from the NFL) you'll have some great training and you'll be amazed with your improvements. The only thing you have to do is your best. You're going to have to work hard with the abilities you have.The moment I walked in on their opening day I had no clue what was going on. I saw balloons and walked in. There was a DJ, dogs, and people. I thought it was some crazy birthday party. Tracy invited me to workout with them and it was unlike anything I had done. I signed up on the spot and have been coming back ever since. I need breaks during the warm-ups for the first month. I wasn't able to use weights until the second month. Now I am doing things I never imagined. Plus I love how diverse this community is. Many different ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientation, physical abilities, you name it! A little background about me, I'm a pre-professional dancer in training and I needed to cross train to get stronger and more fit, a lot of my fellow dancers advised me not to do CrossFit because most places neglect proper form leading most people to injure themselves and aren't able to dance anymore but I still decided to do it because of the all the great things I heard about this particular gym. I signed up for the 6-week challenge which is coming in 3 days a week and adhering to a meal plan that the gym provides. I religiously followed this meal plan and went to every single class and you really do get what you put in and little more. I lost about 26 pounds. I started at 226 and now I'm down to 200 and it's such a drastic change like all my clothes are too big now. The coaches were extremely well trained and pushes us all to do our best all the time. The equipment in the gym is always super clean and feels like is all new. I thought that I wouldn't be able to do half the crazy stuff they do but now I wanna try it all! Not only has there been a shift in my body but also shift in mindset. All you really need (aside from gym membership) to have ready is a great attitude and a good work ethic. This gym has changed my life! I joined about a year ago because I wanted to try something new. The programming at X-treme is phenomenal; everyday is different and it pushes your body in ways you didn't think you could. Each workout has different skill levels so there is something for everyone. I had never done Crossfit when I first started, and was nervous. The coaches  put me at ease because they are always available to answer questions and to share their experiences. They are extremely knowledgeable and were able to modify the workouts for me until felt comfortable.  The other members are extremely welcoming, and I've enjoyed the sense of community and friendships that I have built both in and out of the gym.  This gym is family friendly; my husband and I are both members, often attending class together. They even offer a kids class a couple times a week as well.   The facility is super clean - probably the most clean gym I've ever been to. I would highly recommend this gym and the programming to anyone because I have seen results, feel stronger, notice increased energy levels and confidence in my day-to-day, and overall feel more well rounded. I've been a member of X-treme Athletics almost 3 years. They're extremely clean, all equipment is the best of the best, and all coaches are experienced and motivate and push you do be your best! In addition i've met some spectacular people that I hang out with outside of the gym, it's nice to find people that like to do similar things who have the same mission and goals and be able to celebrate it! The WODS "workout of the day" are always different (challenging) and there are always modifications available based on your ability. This is my first CrossFit gym and within 6 months of joining I have lost 25 lbs. Clothes that once felt too small for me now fit comfortably. The once daily shoulder pain before joining has also become non-existent. My progress could only be a direct reflection of the coaches’ guidance, encouragement, and knowledge.
