I used Alexanderson Property Management to rent my condominium when I was reloacted to New York for a job. They managed the property for two years and did an absolute stellar job of managing the tenants, keeping them happy and keeping the property in top notch shape. Many thanks guys! Q&As

While I suspect that most designers might answer this question with some version of "My creative process involves digging deep into my experience and skill set to present my client the most creative and exciting solution to their design needs..."...The problem with this kind of an answer is that such a focus puts the emphasis on what the designer will do for the client, while ignoring the essential question of "What can I as the designer do to REALLY pay attention to what the client needs, as opposed to my need to be "creative...?"

We might think that the main tool of the designer is their eye--and such is a big mistake. The PRIMARY tool of a GOOD designer is their ear, so that they truly hear the clients needs, and THEN can bring in their skills and creativity into play to satisfy the client's need...

I constantly am helping my clients see the critical importance of discerning-- and THEN addressing--- the three "A's":
Audience, Agenda, Aparatus.

The ORDER of those A's is critically important--It is only after discerning who precisely the audience is that the appropriate messaging (agenda) can be set and then the best vehicle (apparatus) can be chosen.

It's so tempting to launch directly into a project by staring with "What does the client (or designer) like?" FIRST, we have to discern WHO is the target market, then ask what does that PARTICULAR audience need to hear, and then finally, what is the medium that most directly meets that particular audience.

As corny as it may sound, what i love most about my work as a designer and writer is that I get to hear about people's passions and dreams, and help them communicate that passion to an audience that will respond and keep the energetic flow going...

I realized that as an employee somewhere, I'd be forever beholden to a BOSS, and not truly free to pursue whatever agenda was calling me on a particular day. Don't get me wrong--I LOVE committing to a project, and to meeting a client's needs, --but i want to commit to projects that I choose, not to projects that someone else has put on my desk...

Why choose me?

I could be prideful and say I'm an award-winning designer and writer with a proven record of highly successful campaigns---all of which is true---But, in honesty, I've chosen this career as a solo practitioner because I am convinced that EVERYONE should have the assistance of a skilled communicator of Word and Image, not just the 1% who would engage an ad agency.
