Daren and his team did a brilliant job on my garden. They worked in a constant drizzle chopping down a very tall conifer and reducing the height on a couple more. An old conifer hedge was removed too and the garden given a good prune and trim. It looks amazing now, with lots more light and has completely opened up the back of the garden. Fantastic company. If you're looking for a someone who cares about and understands trees - these are your people. We have some beautiful old trees surrounding our little house which were overgrown when we moved in and needed pruning in a fairly severe fashion. We wanted someone who would would work sensitively in a way that preserved and protected the trees whilst making reasonable cuts for light and safety. You hear horror stories about trees being butchered resulting in a poor appearance or even irreparable damage. Daren came on a pre-visit, and immediately put us at our ease. He was clearly very knowledgeable on the technical, botanical and aesthetic aspects of achieving a great result for us - and importantly, the trees. Would highly recommend and use again! Great ethical and green practices as a company as well. I really think that with tree maintenance, what you want is someone who loves trees - not who loves cutting them down. Complete removal of a sumac tree (including digging out the stump) as well as trimming back quite a number of other, larger out of control shrubs including a 6ft tall hedge. Really chatty and friendly but seemed to get masses done in the 2hr timeframe. I put off having our apple tree pruned for quite a few years and it had grown almost as tall as our house...well, not far off. Woodthorpe Tree Services was recommended on the Sherwood Community Facebook page and I contacted them through Messenger. They responded swiftly and quoted me a fair price having sent them a photograph of the tree. The work was carried out yesterday, and I couldn't be more pleased. All the waste was taken away with not a twig left in sight. I am fully confident that the tree will continue to fruit now but we'll be able to pick them off the tree now rather than off the ground!
