I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of this fantastic practice and was so excited and impressed with her practice that I was inspired to write a review. I am a therapist myself who works with teens. I often talk with other professionals to find referral sources for patients that aren't right for my practice. Having a practice that focuses on Women is much needed in the bay area. I work with mom's who are so busy taking care of their teens that they forget to take care of themselves. I am grateful to find a great place to refer them to so that someone can care for them the way they care for others! More...

I initially learned about the Women’s Therapy Institute through a group with other mental health professionals. This company stood out with its professionalism and focus on women’s issues. The owner was inspiring because she shared her vision of helping women in the community with humor and enthusiasm. She is dedicated to hiring the most caring and competent clinicians she can find, and I am confident that you would be in good hands with any one of the therapists at the Women's Therapy Institute! I love this counselor center for women. The therapists are kind, smart and effective at helping women like me past our over-analyzing, excessive worry, and managing stress. You will love your counseling here. From the moment you walk in, you will feel welcome and like you've 'come home.' Don't let wonky thinking - or feelings that aren't serving you - make life a struggle. Call the therapists at Women's Therapy Institute and start finding the joy again. As a therapist myself, I highly recommend them. More...

I've been through many counselors for my problems, personal, physical and marital, and i can say for 100% certainty that they are the best, Christine Tobler! ! She is sxperienced and knows all about human nature and relational juxtapositions of each individual and spouses, the problems people face and how to resolve issues from the base of the dilemmas you face for your issue. I first met Mabel when our children went to the same preschool, and was very impressed by the genuineness of her character and her thoughtfulness. Subsequently, when I was exploring different career options, I reached out to her, and was greatly impressed by her insights and guidance to bring thoughts and ideas to fruition. Highly recommend Mabel! More...

Mabel is a warm, empathetic and experienced therapist. I was very reluctant to start therapy because of my own skepticism and irrational fears. But once I did start therapy with Mabel I have seen myself grow as a person and how it has positively effected my life. I feel it's difficult for anyone to trust and open up and feel safe even to a therapist. She has provided me a safe safe space to open up about what I have been going through and I was able to trust her with my thoughts immensely. I have regularly attended therapy with Mabel for 8-9 months in total and I know that it has changed my life for the good and has provided me with much needed skills. I would definitely recommend Mabel highly to anyone who wants to see a therapist. I honestly feel she is a gift to the mental health community. More...

There are certain people in the world who truly care about others and want to help them. Mabel Yiu is one of these people. When I first signed up for sessions with Mabel, I was very skeptical of the therapy process and how helpful it would actually be in my life. After 7 months of regular sessions, I can say with certainty that my sessions with Mabel were exactly what I needed in order to tackle my life long internal struggles with anxiety, depression, guilt, and lack of self care. Each session I was greeted with Mabels' warm and compassionate demeanor, and never failed to leave with a new tool for coping, as well as a new outlook on whatever issue I had entered the session with. I feel very fortunate to have met Mabel and to have worked with her. She is truly one of a kind! More...

Mabel is a fabulous and versatile therapist for women, girls, and couples. She put me at ease right away with a friendly and welcoming attitude. But what I most appreciated about the time I spent with Mabel was the bold and creative way that she works. I think it makes her stand out among other therapists and certainly helps bring about change. More...

Mabel is an amazing couples therapist. She is so warm, skilled and smart! I really like her energy and how engaged she is during the session. Her theories on relationships are really practical - also her experience really shows in her work. She often talks about the "couple bubble" and different ways we can feel secure in our relationship. I've learned a lot from her and appreciate her engaged, direct and helpful approach. More...

Mabel and I have been colleagues for the past year, and are in a bi-monthly consultation group. Mabel is an experienced, well trained, compassionate therapist. The questions and comments she offers other therapists are insightful and compassionate. Clients love her. Once they've finished therapy, when they need a tune-up, Mabel is their first phone call. Mabel specializes in couples, women, and anxiety. More...

I generally don't like to write reviews but I would really like to share my experience. I started going to Mabel Yiu last October 2016. In a few months of time, she helped me with my depression of going through a divorce. When I went to therapy, I was helpless, angry, depressed, couldn't get up and go to work, crying all the time. Mabel help me cope with this divorce, help me understand my own grief and loss cycle, letting go of the baggage, communicate better with my ex as coparents, communicating with my daughter to help her with our divorce. Mabel has high energy unlike other therapists I have been to. She is honest and straight to the point, and not afraid to help me understand my responsibility to my problems and how I can take control of it. I am so glad that I have gone to her during the toughest time. More...
