Charged £168 to supply and fit a £35 cistern. Didn't dispose of waste materials and didn't correctly fit the flush mechanism. I had to fix this with further parts after they had gone. Very disappointed. More...

Critical: Quality
They were our insurer's authorised emergency response trade when our bathroom flooded. They attended our home, checked we had another toilet, turned off the water and left. I then had to chase up return of a workman to repair the broken part(s). They visited on 4 occasions over 2 weeks but failed to stop the leak. My husband bought parts and repaired the fault to stop the leak. I definitely wouldn't recommend them and definitely considering changing insurer at renewal. More...

First of all, it took over two years for Donnelly’s to properly complete a simple boiler installation, leaving an unfilled hole in external wall for that period.

Secondly, in December 2020, Donnelly’s quoted a 9 day turnaround for a simple part repair (which left two people with respiratory conditions without heating or hot water) at almost double the cost of what was done by another company within 36 hours of initial contact.

Lastly, it came to my attention over three years after the installation that Donnelly’s had not registered the boilers 5 year warranty (as promised) and this therefore is no longer valid, which of course is a huge cost risk to the customer.

Donnelly’s customer service and standards have been extremely poor throughout and I cannot be cleared when I say that this company is best avoided.

I have had no heating since Friday 27th November when an engineer was out, I was told the part would be there and fitted in 2 days, I called up every single day to be told the same thing “that the engineer will definitely be out today” Each day there was no engineer and no courtesy call to say why. It got to the 2nd December when I called again this time very angry being left with no heating in the middle of winter and an extremely asthmatic child in the house to find out the part was never ordered in the first place! Two more engineers came out the following day and put through yet another order for a part - Again still no heating, no clue what the actually did to the boiler but the boiler later that day was pouring like a tap which has ruined all the flooring in the kitchen and when calling WM Donnelly’s OOH service the mail box was full so no option to leave a message or speak to anyone. I then finally got through on the morning of the 6th December and the girl on the phone told me there is absolutely nothing they can do as they have no engineers and the part would be fitted on 8th December, she was rude and did not have a care in the world that we have been left without heating for so long or that their was a asthmatic child in the house. Asking if there is anyway they could get an OOH engineer out just to stop the leak or give us any heaters as we were all ill with the coldness in the house and wearing jackets with blankets around us etc. She advised me all she could do was get someone to phone me the next day which was Monday 7th December. Low and behold Monday morning came and again I had no call from WM Donnellys. This time I woke up to find I had no electric because the boiler had leaked so much in to the electrics. So later on that day I had to get an electrician out whom confirmed it was due to the boiler leaking and after 11 days without heating and myself very frustrated asking for some sort of heaters they delivered two tiny portable blowers.
So today Tuesday 8th has came and the part we have waited for which seems like forever has finally arrived and yet another engineer came out to fit it, but it’s the WRONG PART! I have still not been informed when this new part will be in/fitted and I am still left without any central heating, not to mention I cannot dry any clothes at all and had to stand about for nearly two hours tonight at a pay as you go laundrette to dry clothes to make sure my son has clean/dry clothes for school tomorrow.

I would stay away from this company, the service is absolutely appalling!!! Not to mention no-one seems to have a clue what they are doing!

Critical: Punctuality
Waited at home all day, phoned at 3PM got told I was next job, phoned again at 7PM office shut so I spoke to emergency technicians who said I wasn't on their job list and he didn't have the parts. Appalling service

This company came to us for a boiler repair through an insurance product. Our boiler was beyond repair - which we knew - and they provided us with a competitive and comprehensive quote to install a new boiler. They were easy to deal with, the staff who worked in the house were hard working and friendly, I was happy having them in the house and they were great at explaining everything to me (and my two small children who had their own questions!). After having numerous quotes from different contractors, I chose WM Donnelly to plan and fit an ensuite bathroom as their price was very competetive compared to the rest, they were well established, local and could do the job from start to finish. Patrick (the Project Manager) listened to me and understood the kind of job I was looking for and designed my bathroom taking into account our requirements. The builders, plumbers and electricians were first class and worked around my availability as I work full time. Any time I needed to discuss the job, I could call their office and speak with someone knowledgable. The girls in the office were polite and curteous too ( Jessica, Stacey and Caitlin)I am now arranging to have a new boiler fitted soon and I am confident they are the best company for the job. We picked Donnelly & Co to convert our ensuite shower room into a wet room. I am disabled and needed extra space so allow me to wash. We found that not only was the quality of workmanship excellent, the sales person Patrick showed care and understanding for the problems I was having. With his experience we were able to pick the correct fittings and finishings, which has given us not only a very functioning shower room, but one that we are delighted with.

A big thank you to all at Wm Donnelly & co for the very quick and efficient service given to my parents when installing a new bathroom which was very much needed after Mum's Stroke. Steven & Ross were very helpful and understanding while they were working to get the bathroom finished. Also a big Thank you to Patrick Donnelly for his understanding and patience when out visiting us when doing the quote and of course a big thanks for Mums flowers! They brightened her day no end!!! Great customer service, engineers are quick and thorough. Very punctual, clean and tidy. Always reliable and very easy to communicate with. I've recommended them to many friends and family too.
Recently had my boiler break down. The engineers repaired my boiler very quickly and made my day stress free. I thought it was going to be a lot of hassle but thanks to Donnellys they took care of everything.
