Thanks Katie for an awesome lunch ( from the chicken people ) Creative options but we went basic for the Cuban and didn't regret itOnly suggestion- get real pepper grinders.  Adding pepper dust to the food doesn't do it justice More...

Do you want to feel boujee af? Then go to wine down. Small portions for high prices. This is the definition of boujee. The reason this place gets a 5-star is because that food is so worth it! And the knowledge of the staff on wine/alcohol pairings is unmatched. Go to wine down for a good time! More...

WOW! What a Brunch. This was our first visit to Wine Down. It's a good-looking restaurant with a friendly staff. The atmosphere is casual but the food is wonderfully high end. The three of us all had different dishes. One had chicken and waffles that looked like Southern Living was going to photograph. Another had the Brunch Burger. I had a taste and it was delicious. I'm getting that next time. I had the Lobster Roll. It was over the top amazing. There was enough lobster for three rolls. Very simply prepared and just perfect. The truffle fries are plentiful and outstanding. This place if you don't live in Ooltewah is a destination restaurant. More...

This place just keeps getting better. New lunch menu items like the gluten free chicken sandwich made my wife very happy! I will always go back for the burger, but everything else, especially the Crispy Brussels are amazing. Great lunch and date spot. Enjoyed lunch on the patio yesterday. Sooooo good! The hubs took me for my birthday and I'm so sad we haven't made it before now when it's so close. He had the lobster roll which was an insane amount of lobster. Usually places give you the smallest amount possible. I had the prawns with ravioli and it was so good. The flavor was great, the prawns were cooked great, the ravioli was so good. We also had the charcuterie plate, great sampling of cheeses from sequatchie cove. Service was nice and everything was wonderful. More...

Such a chill vibe. The food may be a little bit on the pricier side, but you're also paying for the astounding experience and the ambiance of the restaurant. The variety in food is always a treat and the seasonal menue goes great with the current climate. Then, of course, the wine selection is comparable to no other. Add in a friendly staff and you have the recipe for a great night out with family and friends! More...

Many friends have recommended this delightful, well appointed eatery to us. We finally had the good fortune to get in to eat one Friday evening and it was so much more than expected. It has a varied wine and beer list and excellent staff that can very clearly describe how each beverage tastes; as well as they can pick out great suggestions based on the taste palate you describe. The manager is such a delightful and superbly knowledgeable not only about the menu and how things are prepared. She has a superb depth of knowledge in natural, back to green living. Tha Owner's are such friendly, community minded, creative business couple eating and just relaxing there is like visiting that your favorite spot in the french country side.  Truly go buy, and enjoy the simple sophistication. If you are looking for a balanced protein healthy dish  get the fried rice bowl... what chef Marcus does is just delicious. Like a great musician like Mozart, great blues king BeBe . He makes a rice dish you'll forget your manners and lick the bowl.  Just go, be open minded there is something for everyone. More...

We had the Mixed Board, Lobstah Roll, Chef's Burrito, and Wine Down Breakfast all of which were great. We brought our kids, and our waitress obviously had no idea about kids. Their standard pancakes are made with bacon in the batter, and we asked for pain. He was still served the standard pancake, which they did fix fairly quickly. We ordered scrambled eggs for my daughter, and asked about cheese. They only had cheddar, so we opted for plain again. The eggs came amazingly seasoned, full of pepper and with parsley garnish. Great for the grown-ups, but she hated them. I will also note that when ordering, the waitress stood at the far end of our long table with the empty seats and didn't move. I didn't feel like shouting and asked her to come closer, which she did, but I thought the whole thing strange. The place filled up quickly, and there seemed to be only three servers to tend everyone and the bar. They eventually all seemed to tag team out between serving, running food and tending bar. Overall, the food was good, not amazing, but the service was lacking. More...

Really good happy hour option.   We decided to get some food options on the happy hour menu since we were hungry.   They change up their deviled eggs and wings which keeps the menu fresh and exciting- both were great.  Also ate the chicken tacos which were smokey and yummy.  LOVED the brussel sprouts.  Husband enjoyed the sriracha onion rings- they were crispy and well fried.  Bar staff were friendly and attentive.  We will go again when in town! We love this place for dinner and brunch. The menu changes frequently so there is always something new to try. The truffle fries are amazing which is a nice change from ordinary restaurant fries. Amazing food, amazing service. Southern hospitality meets a best of bar food restaurant! We tried three entrees, Lobstah [sic] roll, AM Burger, and the Chicken + Waffles. We ate all we could and were sad we couldn't get the rest down. Every server in the place is your server, meaning they are all checking on you, bringing you stuff, and making sure you don't have to raise your hand for a thing. The Dining Divas went to lunch today at Wine Down in Ooltewah. There were 8 of us and we were seated immediately. This is a Wine Bar with exceptional drinks.  The peach moscato had a great flavor and a pleasure to drink. The atmosphere is light and airy with a comfortable feel. The view of the mountain adds a wonderful touch.  It is one of the cleanest restaurants we have ever been to.  Our server, Callie, was unbelievably awesome. She worked the entire dining room and the bar by herself. She is a great asset to Wine Down. The dishes were beautifully prepared and picture perfect. The portions were huge and very tasty. It is a good value for the money. The sandwiches were full of meat as was the soup. The salads are more than you can eat at one time and filled with everything you could want in a salad. If you want an upscale meal, then you should go to Wine Down and try it for yourself.  We don't think you will be disappointed. Next week The Dining Divas will be going to Food Works, watch for our review. More...

I have a brunch group and every month, and we pick a different spot to try out. March was our turn to try out Wine Down. I'd tell you the name of our brunch group, but it has a naughty word in it. Ok, well it rhymes with witches, so B*%#ches Who Brunch is our name. We are four awesome ladies who try and take the time to meet up at least once a month. But I digress. We started out with a pitcher of mimosas, cuz' brunch ya know. I ordered the A.M. Burger. Tell me that a burger has a fried egg on it and I'm sold. Especially when it's done right and the egg yolk is runny and just seems to melt all over that burger, giving it that yummy rich yolk flavor. Oh my. The burger was really good and I definitely recommend it.One of the girls also ordered the Fried Stuffed French Toast for us to share, which has mixed berry and banana cream cheese, bourbon-maple pecan syrup, vanilla bean ice cream, powdered sugar. WHAT?!?!? It just so happened to come in 4 pieces so we each had one to eat. Did you read what was in this thing? stuffed with cream cheese filling, bourbon maple pecan syrup, and vanilla ice cream? Sweet baby Jesus, was that good. If you eat this whole plate by yourself, no doubt you're looking at a diabetic coma. It's great to share and was a perfect dessert for our brunch.Service was awesome and the food really good. Go check it out. More...

Ok, how do I begin. Would we go back yes.  Wine prices are extremely reasonable. My Tito's vodka, also reasonable. We had a mushroom and onion soup as an appetizer. Never had this combination before. It was flavorful and would have been great if the sodium content had been reduced by 75% . Main courses were swordfish (prepared great but small) and my partner had a rib eye schnitzel (never heard of this before) but he thought it was great. For dessert we had a flourless chocolate cake (super) and I had a cinnamon vanilla creme brûlée (they need to take a lesson on this). It was watery and could have been great. Ok, I still would return since we are tired of chain restaurants that seem to be the norm in Chattanooga and what people think are great. Local all the way. More...

Why are there not more stars This place is fantastic. Very upscale in a lovely area, yet simultaneously down to earth. Our servers were extremely knowledgeable, recommending things based on our preferences and hit the nail on the head each time. We had several different wines and mixed drinks on the menu, as well as a cheese platter with a smoked strawberry jam (did NOT know that was a thing, but can't live without it now!). I must add that I'm not sure how anyone could give this place less than four stars.... the people only handing out one star must have their heads stuck very far up a place "where the sun don't shine." I would give this place 10 stars if I could!  Came for the paint nite event but came early to eat.  Wow...  The space is very nicely decorated, not fancy but nice casual. There were several appetizer options on the happy hour special.  We got the truffle fries, crispy Brussels sprouts and a cheese/ meat tray.  Ok, the Brussels sprouts were like a bowl of heaven.  I am sure they are completely unhealthy but oh so yummy!  Perfectly cooked crispy with bacon, and spices.  Wow, I didn't want to share them.  The truffle fries were also tasty, they were very much overshadowed by the Brussels sprouts!  I love love a cheese tray. I can't remember all our choices but they were all top notch. I was impressed. I never been to a bar that was specifically a "Wine Bar". You just come in and sit down at the bar and order wine like you would beer at a singles bar.  Now, you can order beer here too like any other bar and they have some high alcohol beers. I saw one beer that was 13 percent by volume. You can also dine here too as you can order food. Come here for lunch "they say". They have several tables that seat 4 in here. They can also be put together to seat more such as a table for 6. However, there is an automatic tip charge for tables of 6 or more like I have seen at some upscale restaurants. Wine Down has a quaint, intimate and yet quiet setting that is really appealing. All staff, bartenders and waitresses wear Wine Down shirts. One thing I noticed it that is very relaxing in here.  At the time of visiting, I heard no music playing. In summary, this is not just a Wine Bar. You can come in here and sit down for lunch or dinner. More...
