William Defoe Designs worked on two NHS reports for me this year. The first was from concept with basic guidelines to follow. As well as needing a printed version, we also required an online version which needed to be interactive. Rita did such a great job on this report she was commissioned to producing the next report which turned out to be 174 pages. This second report was very testing as so many people within the Trust needed to add their input so many author's corrections were done but Rita took on this challenge with speed, clarity, professionalism and throughout was so cheerful it made working with her an absolute dream. I wasn't the easiest bride to work with. I had a very specific vision for my wedding stationery and was aiming for perfection. Rita was incredibly accommodating and amenable to any tweaks and reworks that i requested. The finished result (save the dates, invites, posters, ceremony readings, guest quiz, table names) wowed not only me and husband to be but all of my guests, who could not speak any more highly about how amazing and beautifully crafted they looked. Describe your creative process.
I am a traditional creative and always start the creative process firstly by researching and processing the brief. Concepts are drawn in my sketch pad. All chosen designs are then taken to the visualisation stage using one or more of the Adobe Creative Suite. All the designs are incorporated in a PDF Presentation to the Client to be discussed and further developed or artworked. The Final Design will be supplied to the Client in their chosen formats within the desired timeframe.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
A concise and detailed brief containing any existing guidelines to be adhered to, any restrictions, images to be used, colour palette, fonts. Also the timescale of the project and budget.
What do you love most about your job?
I love that every Day, every Client and every Project is different. My job is never mundane but a welcome challenge.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have worked in the industry for over 20 years and wanted to have the freedom to choose the Clients and the Projects that were right for me.

I have a passion for design and always find the right creative solution for the Client. I will always work to the highest professional standard and have never missed a deadline.
