Yesterday afternoon was my first time in there. I've been quiet in the review world for some time, but I'll be babbling about this place for a long time to come. I got a lychee gimlet chalkboard special, and my partner got their spicy margarita. Both drinks were beautifully crafted--I like gimlets, and I like lychee, but I am not overly fond of saccharine cocktails. It's too easy to go overboard. This was not the case. This is my favorite bar in Raleigh! They make amazing drinks and it has a great local, down-to-earth but alternative vibe. The first time I went to William & Company, they we serving a spicy red pepper margarita and it changed my life. Up to that point, I thought all cocktails were either sweet or made with dark liquor. I've mainly been a wine drinker, so I never realized anyone made a #spicycocktail that could knock your socks off. I was in love immediately. Now, whenever I go back to William and Company, I get whatever spicy drink they are serving that day. Artsy little bar on Person Street with a mellow atmosphere and an interesting music selection streaming. I've been a few times after work and there's never more than half a dozen people there, but its probably lively on weekend nights. Cool bar outside of the normal run if downtown bars. Drinks were good, although it adds up quick. They had specials up when we were there and the one most of us had was very tasty. This is quite literally one of my personal favorites in Downtown Raleigh. Even when it's three deep at the bar, it's very chill.
