Widescope Web Design Q&A
What makes a great website?
An optimised, up to date, relevant and responsive website that is user friendly on all devices. In our experience the best company websites are an extension to your existing business, one that can generate leads, inform and more importantly allows the client to sell themselves better than their competitors. The key to getting the most out of your website is to understand your market and we work with you to find the niche that suits you best. All of our solutions offer varying levels of support and maintenance meaning that if you should decide to use us we'll work with you through build, implementation and beyond to make sure you are maximising return on your investment.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Who are your must valuable customers, where do they come from and how do you keep them?
Do you know your online competitors?
What do you expect to achieve through a website? New customers? More phone calls? A better understanding of your online market?
How do you intend to combine offline and online activities to help maximise sales?
How do you intend to keep your website updated and who will ultimately be responsible for this? (this includes your chosen web design team)
If you wish to sell online, are you able to deliver on any promises you make with the resources you have?
Have you considered a modular build by adding components when resources allow? Sometimes it is better to start with a smaller site and build as your business grows. We offer multiple solutions that can be tailored to grow with your needs.
What do you love most about your job?
Our customers and the delight when a project culminates in a lead or more importantly a sale. We pride ourselves on thinking ahead of the competition and finding new ways of advertising our customers online and offline. Some of our customers have been with us from day one and we like to think that is because we are accessible, approachable and customer orientated. If our client has a problem, we work with them to find a solution. One way or another there is always a solution.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having worked in the IT industry for 10 years and dealt with programmers, systems administrators and technicians across numerous IT platforms I became frustrated with a hands off approach towards others. There were many times when genuine people (customers - although sometimes this was forgotten) asked questions that either took too much explaining or were deemed trivial. People wish to embrace technology at some level and 18 years ago I saw the opportunity to offer solutions to other business owners that helped rather than hinder. The key to customer satisfaction is understanding that just because their skillset is different doesn't mean you can't work towards a viable solution and I enjoy working and talking to people. We have a keen eye and interest in new technology and bringing the two together just made sense. I've always loved programming but communication up, down and across the "client - consultant" divide helps create the right atmosphere for a successful project.
There is one thing better than creating the perfect website that brings leads to your door. Building it (with input) for a customer that converts the sale.
Why should our clients choose you?
We are flexible, dynamic and willing to make your project work. We care about the work we do and we care about how our clients are perceived. We work with our clients within their budget and stay within them beyond any implementation. Our company works on the theory that everyone is entitled to a positive presence on the internet and we work diligently to deliver upon this.
