Okay, folks. I am a truck driver. I have been to all of the lower 48 states except for 4 of them (ND, ME, VT & RI) I have tried food everywhere I take a load, often trying to hone in on the local specialty. Suffice it to say, I’ve tried barbecue ALL over the country.This place...this place, has THE BEST barbecue ribs I have EVER had in my life! I cannot describe how melt in your mouth, fall of the bone, PERFECT they were!!! The flavor...mmmm, mmmm, mmmmm! I ordered a sample platter as I wanted to try all their meats since I never know if I will be through the area again. The pulled pork and brisket were also both VERY good, but those ribs STOLE THE SHOW! Made me wish I’d just ordered a full slab of them!! I highly recommend you stop here and give them a try!! More...

My first time here. Very nice place, lots of seating, quite a few TV with a couple different shows on. You place you order at the front counter, no table service, get your drink glass and fill your choice of drinks from soft drinks and tea. When they call your number you can pick up your order at the front counter where you placed your order , off to the side, fairly long front counter. Now to the food. Mmmm love me some ribs, they were AWESOME. I do the dry rub. I had the full rack. Each table is also supplied with a lazy suzzan with 6 different BBQ sauces, tried them all some sweet and some spicy. Ever since I have moved away from Arkansas, I have been dreaming about Whole Hog Cafe. Â I was excited about it but I might have set my expectations too high. Â That is probably from the amount of BBQ I have ate in the last 4 years.My favorite things about Whole Hog Cafe are the sauces and potato salad. Â The potato salad is the baked potato variety. Â There are 6 sauces on the table and a volcano sauce you have to ask for. Â Each sauce has a number. #1 is sweet and mild, #2 is a tangy tomato, #3 is like #2 except spicier, #4 is the best North Carolina vinegar sauce O have ever had but only goes well with pork, #5 is molasses, and #6 is a mustard base. Â #6 is my absolute favorite then #1. Â But all of the sauces are terrific.I did have the whole hog platter today, which has pork, brisket, ribs, beans, slaw, and potato salad. Â Out of the 3 meats, the ribs were the most enjoyable. The brisket is not like Texas brisket, but similar to what you would put on a cheesesteak. Â It actually has a good seasoning to it. Â The pulled pork was solid. Â The beans are average and similar to Bush beans. Â The slaw is chopped and a little creamy.The disappointment for me comes in that I remember it being better than it was today. Â When I say that, I mean like almost elite BBQ and just not solid BBQ.
