Went to weekend public skating but very disorganised as much of the rink was coned off due to skating lessons, so left us with no space to skate.
The facilities are not great either as the hire skates are broken and rusty. Very overpriced for what you get in return.

Staff here are really friendly. There's a cafe (not super glamorous but the food is good) and a skate shop inside too. The rink can be busy sometimes and after a hockey session the ice can be a bit bumpy but it's still really fun.

Went with my son a few days ago while he went for a skate and I sat watching after paying £1 to spectate! The place looked like it hadn't changed one little bit in the 30 years since I was last there! Peeling paint, soggy carpet and squeaky seats etc but hey, what more do you need to go ice skating other than a big slab of ice and borrowed skates! You dont need modern interiors or superior facilities in order to have fun and you definitely have fun here! Both adults and kids thoroughly enjoying themselves and at only £7 per skater, it is more family budget friendly than a trip to McDonald's, which reminds me, there is a little cafe in the ice rink too. Amazing time the staff were friendly however during some days (tuesday - saturday) it is full of intense skaters (I am not removing stars because this is an issue with people not the place) so it mightn't be a good idea to go unless you are going during a quieter time or are a good skater

Great as a one off visit. But the prices are not where they need to be. £6.50 for a 3 year old + £2 skate hire when an adult ticket is £7 + £2 skate hire. There was a family ticket for £23 but skate hire still £2 per person for 4. Not the cheapest but fun. More...
