A couple of years ago, I asked Andrea to do some photos of my dogs and myself. One of my dogs had been diagnosed with cancer and I didn’t know how much longer I would have her. Andrea did a wonderful job capturing all three dogs and myself. There were some really special photos of Katie that I treasure to today. She was super patient with my three crazy hounds and captured them perfectly. She did a really awesome job of removing leashes from the pictures. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Talking to your client and learning exactly what they are wanting/expecting and loving what you do.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What type of shots they are looking for what is their end goal - printing to hang on the wall, printing to show to clients and future clients, website use, personal use etc.
What do you love most about your job?
Getting to know my clients and giving them precious moments they can look back on that are special to them.
Or in a commercial setting helping clients illustrate exactly what they wanting to represent and sell.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Actually my multiple animals growing up played a huge role. Our pets don't have the lifespans we wish they did, they always leave us to soon but they create lasting memories and snuggle their way into our hearts for life. I wanted to remember every good moment with them I could and was constantly taking photos of them as a kid, and even as a kid I was very picky and wanted beautiful photos that shared the best of my furbabies. As I grew up I continued wanting to capture their special magic and memories but it also grew into wanting to be able to do the same with the special people in my life - my mom and dad, my grandparent, my husband and now baby boy. All of those pictures are my treasures, and I am thankful everyday that I have them. With that I wanted to be able to share this gift with other people, first friends and then clients as well - and thus Whispering Hope Ridge Photography LLC was born. It's actually even named after my mare Hope and my logo was inspired by a photo I took of her.

They should choose me if they like my work and if they want someone who truly cares about what they are asking me to do and the results.
