Four of us had a wonderful evening with unique wines from all over the world and fantastic tapas, especially the coconut ceviche, grilled tiger shrimp and chimichurri beef.  They were not very crowded on Dec. 22 so it was so pleasant to share food and drinks and be able to conduct a conversation without yelling.  Our waitress Meg was so knowledgeable about the wines, giving us samples of different choices. She was so energetic and vivacious and a pleasure to have as our server. More...

My husband and I came here for a quiet date night, hoping for a fun ambience, good food, and a chill place. Jason and Wet Stone totally exceeded our expectations! ! The food was FANTASTIC (get the bacon wrapped dates. You're welcome.) the wine was perfect (Zatho will not disappoint), the atmosphere is really unique and fun. Come ready to relax, enjoy, and have a real meal. If you're expecting fast food and a quick bite this probably isn't the place for you - oh! And make a reservation, this popular joint can fill up fast. Thanks for a special date night out! More...

Cannot believe it took me this long to try this place. A small, cozy, cute restaurant with nice service. The place is very small and popular (for good reason), so I would definitely recommend a reservation. We had an 8pm reservation but showed up more than an hour early in hopes that there would be some space. We got lucky and only waited 20 min (original estimate was 45...). The hostess had a strange attitude, but this was the only odd thing. We sat at the bar and the two people working it were lovely.Wet Stone Wine Bar & Cafe More...

I'm drawn to this restaurant because they make their own pasta - and for that reason alone I wanted to love it so much. My Italy trip from last year really changed my perspective on Italian food. The meal:Dinner was good, but not amazing. Three of us tried three different meals and shared - and we all felt the same way. I liked the Wet Stone Wine Bar & Cafe stuffed pasta the best. More...

This place is a hidden Bankers Hill gem. I just recently moved out of Bankers Hill and miss the wine, food, and customer service of this cute little wine bar. One of the servers there, with a beard and glasses, always has a smile on his face. I have never once been disappointed with his wine suggestions and he is always on top of checking in with me. The dishes there are amazing. I love the flatbreads (I have tried every kind) but my absolute favorite are the bacon wrapped dates and tuna tartare. Wet Stone was recommended to me by a friend and it does not disappoint! It's a cute place with such a lovely ambience and the food is fantastic! I highly recommend the avocado and garbanzo beans appetizer and their flat bread with truffle sauce - so good!! They have every kind of wine imaginable and I've fallen in love with a chardonnay from Argentina that I would never have discovered if I didn't visit. But what really makes this place stand out is the service. Jason runs this place so smoothly! It can be completely packed or just a few tables and he doesn't miss a beat. He is so personable, listens to what your tastes are and then suggests amazing wines you'd never heard of, and he's overall just a really nice guy. His personality along with always being on top of things makes Wet Stone a stand out restaurant! If you're looking for a memorable place with outstanding food and service, spend an evening at Wet Stone! More...

This place is a hidden gem and cute as can be! The decor and vibe of the restaurant is everything I would have ever wanted in a local wine bar (cozy and chic), even down to the music which pairs very well with a drink (kinda loungey with a South American sound). The bacon wrapped dates and tuna tartare were my favorites. I happened to go on a Thurs evening when they have a special on bottles of wine (20% off). Our waiter was fabulous, accommodating, and friendly. We also got a chance to chat with the chef/owner after our meal to let him know how much we enjoyed our  experience. Will absolutely be returning as a regular to this place and looking forward to it! More...

This is one of my new additions to the top ten in San Diego County. We had the menu on a Thursday. 3 course paired with 3 wines. Can't describe how delicious each item and wine was - think about your best appetizer then multiply by 10. If you're reading this, go, but don't tell anyone else about this place. It's amazing and one you don't want to get overcrowded with a mass of people.
