SPANSIH WINE SCHOLARJust completed this superb course. Very impressed with the Wine Scholar Guild country specific course and online content to back up the class experience. I was waiting and looking forward to the launch of the new Spanish wine program. I was also new to the West London Wine School and needed to travel from Cambridge, but it was worth it. The course was presented by Jimmy and he was outstanding in delivering with passion and enthusiasm the course content, the wonderful and extensive range of wonderful wines to taste, accompanied by different Spanish cheeses, cold meats, paella, padron peppers, etc. to match each region. I also learned a lot and was well prepared for the exam this week. I will sign up for further Wine Scholar courses, led by Jimmy at the West London Wine School, starting with France next year and then Italy. If you are interested, like or love wine you will enjoy one of Jimmy's courses. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend. More...

I have been going to West London Wine School for several years now, have completed the WSET levels 2&3 there and recently the Italian Wine Scholar (IWS) taught by Jimmy, as well as other tasting evenings. The classes are so interesting, inspirational and above all, great fun! There are typically 9-12 wines to taste and charcuterie & cheeses to nibble in each IWS class. It is exciting to discover many superb wines that are lesser known or even unheard of in the UK market, and rewarding to understand the history and factors that influence the wines. I have a lot of praise for this school and the people running it. They are generous, knowledgeable and really make learning about wine the most enjoyable experience. More...

After being recommended the 8 week introduction to wine course at the West London Wine School by a colleague, I decided to enroll and I am so happy that I did! ! Each week, I really looked forward to the class- though it is on a weekday evening, I didn’t feel tired as the class was so engaging, fun and interesting! It was so fun to taste different wines from grape varieties from different parts of the world, with cheese pairings. I would definitely recommend the course to anyone interested in learning more about wine- I really appreciate the fact that I have been able to increase the breadth of wines I tried and like!! Rosie was a super super amazing teacher- she was knowledgeable, fun, friendly and engaging. Thank you Rosie, I am so happy I got to learn from you!! More...

With a lovely pub lunch as a half-time break, to refesh and revive...Starting with a champagne ending with dessert wine and cheese, this was a fun and informative day out, with a wine professional who made us all welcome and answered all our wine questions, in depth and with great aplomb... Introduction to Wine course - at first we had relatively sceptical ideas about the school due to the location (Big Yellow Storage unit). However, all our scepticism vanished after a brilliant introduction from the tutor Jimmy and his wife Beth. The day started off with Champagne, moving on to a white and a red with lunch (lovely lunch at the Sands End pub) before returning to the school to finish off with a lengthy wine selection / tastings and pairings. A thorough introduction to wine was had and we would certainly recommend attending the course. Good fun, informative and knowledgeable tutors (also plenty of wine...) More...

Wasn't sure what to expect at first when we walked into a big yellow storage unit, however we were pleasantly surprised. Our host was very knowledgeable, friendly, and - most importantly - passionate about wine, and that reflected inctje information sue gave us throughout the experience. For our money wee got to try 5 excellent and varied wines, as well as 2 bonus glasses which they were trialling. An excellent introduction to the world of wine for people with little knowledge of the subject More...

I have been two a few tastings at the West London Wine School but last nights was fabulous. I took my girlfriend and her father along for a birthday activity to 'Jimmy’s bad ass Beaujolais' tasting evening. It was very much enjoyed by all….not just because there were 12 wines! (At least 4 more than I’ve ever had at any other tasting).
Between the three of us we have been to a fair few tastings across London and also various wineries when on holidays but none have been delivered with such enthusiasm and passion for the wines on show.
Not being familiar with Beaujolais it was great to hear about the history and evolution of the region and to try wines that I would never seek out or really come across without this sort of evening.
Overall the whole evening was great value and a very welcoming environment to learn more about quality wines and how they end up in your glass.

Thanks Jimmy and team!

I've organised a team event with work in a restaurant in Clapham, where I wanted to run a wine & cheese tasting session before dinner. The team at West London Wine School was incredibly supportive and worked directly with the restaurant to arrange everything: delivery of glassware, wine and cheese in advance.

Shane, the tutor was absolutely BRILLIANT. Knowledgeable and above all energising and FUN, which is exactly what I wanted. Tasting was amazing, the night was a huge success and the team had a blast!

Fantastic. 5 stars.

I studied my WSET Level 2 at West London Wine School and the quality of the teaching was superb. I also went to some of Jimmy's public events and it was such fun the whole experience was instrumental in making me want to set up my own wine school. This is what I noticed about the evening tastings... The venue was filled with people of all ages who were loving learning about wine in a thoroughly down to earth way, the table was laid out very professionally and everybody had 7 glasses, one for each wine (not just one or two like you get at most other Wine Tastings) and the quality of the information was superb. I would thoroughly recommend West London Wine School for those looking to learn more about wine or beer. Those (like me) looking to broaden the range of wines they know and enjoy should consider attending the 8 week "Introduction to the world of wine" course - the wines tasted are all easily available and are not expensive. The tutors are knowledgeable and, most importantly, fun. Other events, such as fine wine tastings or events focussing on specific winemakers or regions allow more in-depth learning (or drinking...). The school has also started running beer tastings and if you think you don't like beer, give one of these tastings a go - there really is a beer for everyone. More...
