Wee Creative Company Q&A
What makes a great website?
A successful and engaging website should have a simple and clear message that all visitors can understand. The best way to communicate your website's purpose is through a clear message on your homepage. ... Your website is often a potential customer's first impression of your business.
Make it count.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Do you have something in mind?
Who is their target audience
Who do they see as being their rivals/peers
What market sector they are in
Where are you starting from? Startup or established
Describe your creative process.
Step 1 Gather info and knowledge about the brand. Find out who the consumer is, the history of the industry, specific points of difference between competitors, and how people react to the product or service. This process will "increase your chances of stroking new combinations, or ideas."
Step 2 Look at the info from different angles. Ask questions and brainstorm: What would this brand never do? What benefits come with using the product? Could the name of the product or service become the visual idea? What is an exaggerated consequence of using this brand or product?
Step 3 We have a good think about how to solve the brief.
Step 4 The 'Light bulb' stage, the moment when we think we have cracked the brief. We might also have two or more other ideas that are pretty good and worth recording.
Finally, step 5 Bring it into the real world, "shaping the idea into practical reality" Share the idea with others for critique. An idea won't get any better if it's kept in the dark.
Be flexible until the very end.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
A good brief. If you don't have a brief structure you can download a template from weecreative.co.uk
Your budget and timescale
Your bank details and a purchase order
What do you love most about your job?
The light bulb moment.
That creative spark which differentiates how we can grow websites and brands - your brand - and develop integrated campaigns.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My passion for good design and the encouragement from my clients when I worked for national design agencies.
Why should our clients choose you?
We are knowledge seekers, honest and open minded. But above all we have a really positive approach and are at the end of the phone when you need us.
