As an experienced global business traveler and self proclaimed hospitality connoisseur, I have never had a more genuine and memorable experience as my most recent stay at the Mansion on Delaware Ave in Buffalo NY and it can be attributed to my Butler, and dare I say new friend, Ian. I visited Buffalo last month with a coworker and was impressed with our Butlers Clinton and Ian, so much so that despite not being wildly impressed with the guest rooms themselves, we decided to return to the Mansion. Ian remembered us, and in a dynamic showcase of proficiency he handled all aspects of our stay from booking our reservations to accommodating our requests, recommending a restaurant and even driving us to dinner. It was the late evening conversation over games of pool in the fireside salon that set our experience apart from any other. Loved staying at The Mansion on Delaware as we explored Buffalo. Walking distance to so many neighborhoods and restaurants, but the Land Rover (and mighty knowledgeable drivers) took us wherever we wanted to go within the mileage range. We totally enjoyed the evening cocktail hour and honor bar. Again, the staff were fantastic. I will say, the breakfast was interesting. Lots of variety but more like evening appetizers - pickles,olives, tortellini, Italian meats and cheeses. There were other items as well, but, like I said interesting. Plenty of food for sure. When my friends recommended my hubby and I stay at The Mansion while we visited Buffalo, especially since they really talked up the staff attentiveness, we had to try it. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. The location was great...everything in downtown Buffalo was within 3 miles. The building was beautiful. But the staff fell short. We stayed here on the last night of our vacation. The architect and history of this mansion is amazing! The staff make you feel like you are the only guest there and they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable! They took our bags to our room, showed us around the place. Gave us a little history of the place. They suggested several places to eat and offered to drive us there! I chose this hotel because it was convenient to a wedding I was attending. Parking on arrival was a little confusing, as there is no specific place indicated to park for check-in. I was nearly immediately greeted by one of the "butlers" on staff who brought in my suitcase and arranged for valet parking for my car. I was escorted to my room, allowing for a brief description of the mansion's history and finer points. In my room, I was greeted with a personalized note of welcome, along with two tiny cupcakes and a couple of cookies. The room was not overly large, but it had soaring high ceilings and huge old grand window. The bathroom had a clean and serviceable jetted tub and multiple shower heads. The linens were good, and the bed was comfortable. I note that some reviewers have been disappointed that this not like other contemporary downtown hotels, but for me, the unique experience was well worth the departure from the predictability of an ordinary hotel. Unlike the typical continental English muffin or massed-produced scrambled eggs and bacon, breakfast at the Mansion was a sumptuous buffet that included cold shrimp, charcuterie, cheese, roasted vegetables, fruit, farro, and hard boiled eggs-- as well as a toaster and bagels/bread for the traditionalists. I lingered over a pot of English breakfast tea in the breakfast room, thoroughly enjoying the view and the relaxing start to my day. My wife and I stayed overnight at the Mansion while traveling back to Ontario. Upon checking in we found the staff to be attentive and very friendly. The rooms were quaint, clean and comfortable. The evening cocktail hour, with a game of pool was a nice way to relax after a long day. ||||Later in the evening, we went to Tempo for a late dinner. A great recommendation from the hotel staff, Ian and Hannah. The hotel provided a ride to the hotel, as well as pick up in the company's Land Rover. I must say Hannah was a great tour guide and chauffeur. The next morning a continental breakfast was served with plenty of fresh choices.||||All in all, I highly recommend the Mansion and look forward to going back when I find myself heading to Buffalo. European Level White Glove Service with a distinctly WNY flavor. Excellent Common Areas, Breakfast and Bar. Love the quirky architecture but high time for a re-fresh/re-boot on the bed/bathrooms.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mansion on Delaware Ave and our expectations were exceeded! ||When we arrived, we were greeted by their Butlers who superbly took care of us throughout our stay. A huge plus right from the start. Our room was beautiful & elegant, very comfortable beds (love the pillows) and high-end quality amenities. The complementary Breakfast and afternoon cocktails were top-notch. And to make our stay even better, after our Butler made reservations at a recommended restaurant, they provided chauffereured transportation.
