Just spent 3 nights at clumber park with the family as a pre Xmas break. The hotel location was good as we were travelling up from the south east and an easy drive to Nottingham for the panto. Loads of parking but scary warning signs about thefts from cars. The room was big and the bed vast and for me very comfortably firm. It had all the facilities one would expect. ||We ate in what I think was called the Brasserie. This has hard flooring and so sift furnishing at all so no noise absorption. While a large group was there it was therefore echoey and noisy. The salmon starter was excellent, my main course was fine. The crumble dessert tasted good but for the price the portion size was poor value. My daughter bought us a voucher for afternoon tea at a choice of venues and we chose the nearest to where we live in Lincoln, which was the Clumber Park Hotel. Uncertain of what to expect, we were soon put at ease by our reception by the front of house staff and shown into the attractive dining room . We were asked if we had any allergies or preferences by our Waitress and after a short wait which implied that our food was being freshly prepared we were each served with a cake stand replete with a variety of delicious sandwiches, two scones each with clotted cream and jam and a selection of fancies. What a fabulous find!A group of 7 ladies meeting for a get together /spa overnight break.Booked on a DB&B basis we were greeted by really friendly and efficient reception staff-quickly got our rooms. The rooms are comfortable-all 7 of us remarked at how comfy the beds were and how clean the rooms/bathrooms are.||Down to the spa-again really freindly engaging staff-and the outdoor jacuzzi was such an added treat!The whole area was very clean plenty of loungers and we had a totally relaxing time.||Down to evening dinner-very impressed-really lovely conservatory restaurant great service and all of us remarked on the quality of the food.||Breakfast -again super staff plenty of choice and really clean facilities-||We would all like to say a huge thankyou to all the staff and housekeeping because we had the most wonderful get together in your lovely hotel and will definitely be booking again More...

Travelling south we decided to break our journey in Nottinghamshire. Booked a 1 night stay here and found a lovely hotel in doing so. Just off the A1 it makes a nice hotel for an overnight stop. I selected this hotel as it had gym facilities, although sadly I was not able to use them due to one thing or another. A nice welcome from reception staff, who were also very helpful when I had a problem with the key card. ||||Restaurant service was very good, and the food was of a high standard. So much so that a couple felt the need to thank the chef in person for his efforts in preparing their meals. They had stopped and dined there for two nights.||||Top tip the entrance to the hotel comes very quickly on to you, and I nearly missed it completely. Spent a night here to celebrate my daughters birthday||We booked the Clumber room package, so we used the spa and pool in the afternoon. A lovely area, then we had the use of the Clumber Lounge a large well decorated room where we were private and able to party.||The package includes a sharing latter for each couple.||This was nice but a bit over bready ||The rooms are exactly what I would expect for the price I paid||I do think some of the previous criticisms don’t take into account the price paid||The rooms are simple and clean||But I only wanted to sleep there!!! I stayed at the Muthu Clumber Park Hotel for one night and have to say it was a lovely experience. I'd booked a standard double room, but when I arrived I was told that I'd been upgraded to a suite. What a beautiful room! We visited yesterday (Friday 30th) as a group of 7 for afternoon tea. The lady serving everyone and making sure everyone was ok was brilliant. I didn’t get her name but she is a real asset to this hotel, especially reading the other reviews. She was clearing away and setting up tables, serving behind the bar, taking orders, bringing out food, drinks and other requests and more. She was doing everything by herself but remained polite and friendly - clearly very hard working! ||The afternoon tea was buy one get one free so an absolute bargain! It was £12.99 for 2 people and we were surprised that everyone got their very own tea stand. I would definitely pay full price in the future. Sandwich fillings were a little bizarre but I would just ask for different next time. We couldn’t actually tell what some of them were. Each stand came with 2 scones (plain and fruit) and 5 little cakes! Perhaps 1 nice slice of good quality cake would be better? We arrived at the hotel with our doubts after reading some of the reviews on trip advisor, we were pleasantly surprised throughout our weekend stay. ||It didn’t get off to the greatest start we had booked a clumber double and that room was in dire need of refurbishment we asked if we could move and we were put in another room which was lovely. ||The staff especially the reception staff in our experience were polite, helpful and on one occasion for us went above and beyond to help us when we had a problem. ||The food was great, we had breakfast, afternoon tea (which could have done with some crisps and more savoury items as was very cake heavy) and evening meal and all was very tasty and very nice, a great wine list also.||Location great for exploring we also ate at blue grill in Thoresby one night well worth a visit. ||The spa was great, everything you need without the expensive or pretentiousness of your £100 a day spa experiences, I would definitely recommend Gillian for massage I had the best massage ever, so intuitive when it came to pressure and problem areas she was up there with the best in my opinion I will be sure to book with her again on my return which will be in the near future because it was a great little weekend break. Following a recommendation me and my partner stayed here for 1 night, as a base for Clumber Park and some spa relaxation. The experience was so much more than we imagined . Entrance to the park is directly opposite, the spa is gorgeous, food 10/10, room with a view over the courtyard full of light. The hotel was spotless and beautifully decorated as well as being cosy and homely. Perhaps the best though was the service from staff. Greeted with a smile and this was continued in all hotel areas. Jamie on reception in the evening was so professional, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The barman was full of smiles and made us feel like we were in our local with his impeccable service. The waiting staff were equally fantastic as were the girls in the spa. The chef was so skilled it was one of the nicest meals in ages! 4 night break for a local music festival. After efficient check in we visited the spa area first and enjoyed a relaxing couple of hours in the pool, jacuzzi and outdoor spa. We booked this hotel as we were going to a wedding reception near by. Our room was on the ground floor and had very few noise problems, a strange knocking noise at around 3am, guessing someone may have been coming back late and locked out. The fridge in the room kept making a buzzing noise but didn’t disturb our sleep. The room was nice, a good size, comfy bed and good tea and coffee facilities. Only problems were the shower screen was broken at the bottom and the tap on the sink was loose. We made us of the pool, which was good and the jacuzzi outside was very relaxing, glad I didn’t spend money on a spa day there as there were children jumping and splashing around so not very relaxing.||Staff very friendly, had to wait a little while to be served at the bar and a large glass of wine very expensive. ||Breakfast was lovely, busy but this was to be expected as a lot of the wedding guests were staying at the hotel, the poached eggs were perfect! I did not stay overnight at the Hotel but I was recently at the hotel for a very successful conference and everything was very well organised by the hotel staff, the lunch provided was delicious and there was plenty of choice. My colleagues agreed that we would love to have a stay here as our visit was purely work and very short. After the conference had finished the receptionist (Jane) tried for about half an hour to get me a taxi to Retford train station as I needed to catch my train back to London but as it was a very busy period of the day she could not get one, she could see that I was getting very worried about missing my train and very kindly offered to give me a lift to the station as her shift was about to end. I could not believe that this kind lady would go out of her way to help a complete stranger, she flatly refused to accept any cash and said that she was just happy that I did not miss my train. A lovely place to spend a relaxing day at the Spa with friends and colleagues. When our group arrived, the ladies at reception introduced themselves to us and talked us through the different treatments and facilities we could make use of during the day. Elisa in the Spa therapy team was lovely, considering there were six of us nothing was too much trouble - she didn't have any problems fitting us in for back to back nail treatments! I also booked in a facial - so relaxing I almost fell asleep! ||||Great facilities including a large pool, steam room and sauna - a nice place to sit on one of the loungers with a book and just zone out.
