Working with Web Wizards and Chick is a fantastic experience. Chick helped me to create a web store from the ground up. He has great insight into design, layout, and the flow that a web site should have. He is a really fantastic Art Director, he helped come up with a cool theme and overall design. I was referred to Chick Ciccarelli via a good friend to design my personal business website. I also wanted a logo created and thought that I would have to turn to another source for this. In my initial meeting with Chick I found that he had a substantial background in this as well! What makes a great website?
A website is a digital representation of who you (or your company) is when you can't be there in person to tell your story. But that story must be compelling and engaging enough to hold your visitor's attention long enough to lead them to a call to action.
Simply listing your products or services is not enough. Your site should have personality and be written using short, simplistic statements and designed with tasteful visuals. (Unless you are developing a medical encyclopedia or educational site, you must remember that people really don't read) – they typically have a short attention span and primarily browse or scan pages.
A great site must have a very clear navigation menu to help your visitors find things quickly.
While we know that SEO (search engine optimization) elements are important for helping people find your site, we keep that kinda thing hidden and behind the scenes so it doesn't get in the way of your site's message.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
We typically ask basic questions about our client's business, but the main question we ask is "What makes you different from your competitors?"
What do you love most about your job?
Seeing a client's business grow from the efforts we've made on their behalf. If they are growing, we've done our job correctly.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I’ve been called an overly creative person all my life, which to me just means thinking beyond the obvious. When people ask me what I do for a living, I often tell them “I create illusions of grandeur”. Typically, executives come to me when they are ready to take something to its next level, whether it’s product or business branding, reputation enhancement, pitching something, building an awareness campaign or designing a website. Often, I’ve been lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, and sometimes have simply been able spot a good opportunity when it reared its head.
I love to design.

I take a great deal of pride in my work. After 40+ years of art direction (with 20 years of web development) I have amassed a very interesting portfolio of projects from a uniquely recognizable client list, but only after a long, exhausting journey of deadline-driven projects and a constant, never-ending education about what makes things tick.
