This is an absolutely wonderful place for children to get away from the electronics and get a taste of nature. I found there was both novice and more experienced riders when I went there with a friend. The staff seemed to really enjoy teaching the kids the basic skills to be around the beautiful horses. Dawn & her family are amazing! They gave my horse a place to stay during one of the big storms we had. They treated her like there own & always kept in touch with me! Very welcoming environment.

Dawn is amazing she goes above and beyond for everyone from beginner to advanced. She shares all of her knowledge and teaches you to grow and gives you the confidence that you need to ride and to care and to show your horse . I give her 100 stars. My all time favorite people, both my horses are here and they treat them like there own. By far the best barn I have ever been at. Don’t have anything bad to say about them. Mckenzie is one of my best friends and she takes Bessie to barrel races all the time. Dawn always keeps in contact with me and sends me lots of videos and pictures of my two babies! Love you guys!!! Dawn, Joe and the gang are the very best! I am a very old student of Dawns and have come to know and love her whole family. She is always kind and fully giving of all of her knowledge and experience. It has been many years since our first meeting when she gave me and my very young horse confidence to go into a show ring which was so totally exciting for someone my age! My 10yr old daughter takes horseback riding lessons from at Wattland farm. It's a true treasure for Parkland. Dawn is awesome. She loves horses, but more than that, she loves the kids. Safety is a huge thing with her. It's true horseback riding instruction, not full of unrealistic fluff. The kids prepare the horses for riding with Dawn's guidance, they get dirty, and learn both the real grit and fun of it all. It's been great for my daughter, has helped tremendously with confidence & responsibility. She absolutely loves it. The summer camp is full of nonstop fun & learning about horses, and I always feel secure of my daughter's safety when leaving her at Wattland. More...

Wattland is by far the best barn locally in Parkland. I skeptically allowed my 5 year old daughter to fulfill her wishes to ride horses and was pleasantly surprised when we met Dawn (the owner and trainer) and my daughter began her riding lessons. Since beginning, she's shown maturity in her behavior and began to incorporate her passion for horses in her reading and writing at school. I can't say enough positive things about the owners of Wattland. Dawn took an eager little girl and is fostering her love for horses and treats her as if she is her own. I'm not an equestrian myself and Dawn is more than patient with me as I'm learning what every "horse mom" should know. My daughter is currently attending summer camp at Wattland and two weeks into summer, she's having the best summer she's ever had! More...

I'm in love with this place! In all honesty, I was really nervous at first since it was my first time going horseback riding! Thanks to the instructors, Dawn & Mackenzie, I was able to eventually relax and even had "my horse", Rodger, trot a few times. Definitely a great place for people of all ages to come and enjoy.
