I thought the food was great!!! However, a couple of dishes came out cold and two orders were messed up! We ended up with two comped meals, a free bottle of wine and a comped dessert. It was super loud inside which is kind of a bummer. I felt we had to shout to hear one another! Definitely ironing out some kinks. Our server was good but not great!! Waterdog is the new SPOT in Belmont, California, at Carelmont shopping center across from IHM, great food, Annie is awesome and the Bar is packed and the staff is awesome, Even Andre' the barkeep managed to smile and tell jokes with the people at the bar.
Love this place, going back on Friday night.

This is the BEST Gastro Pub hangout spot on the Peinisula HANDS DOWN. Excellent ambiance, coupled with phenomenal food choices makes this one of my favorite go to destinations outside of San Francisco. My last visit I showed up an hour and 15 minutes before closing on a Saturday night, With six foreigners from both Scotland & Canada. We got a great table and had an exquisite meal. All great. Bugs being worked out fine. Had reservations for 4 and sat promptly, our waitress (and I wish I could remember her name) was very attentive all thru our stay.
Very good food, beer selection was thumbs up.
Also a young man, Chase I think is name was, cleared and brought our meals was quite humorous with us made it fun.
Good job WDT keep it up.

I've been here three times so far. Every visit has been better than the previous one. Love the interior which is inviting and warm. Yes, it's noisy, but vibrant and full of people I know every time I've been. This is truly the kind of place we've been missing in Belmont, and I'm thrilled Toby and Anne decided to open Waterdog Tavern. Good selection of appetizers, main courses and delicious desserts. Great beer selections I'm being told by the beer lovers I know. Dress up or dress down - it’s all good! Great decor, comfortable ambiance love the fireplace feature and artsy touches. The happy hour pork bun appetizer was a special kind of spicy with the habanero jelly and the brussel sprouts roasted crispy perfection - will totally be having those again! My friend and I arrived at 6pm on Friday and we were told we wouldn't be seated until 8:45 yet there were many tables that were empty.
Of course we figured out they didn't have enough servers to cover those tables.
It then to us moving 3 times along the bar area to even order a drink. Once we were "known" at the bar it took a little less time to get a drink/beer.
Overall a great place and once the kinks are ironed out we finally have a great place to hangout with friends and family! Give me a pat on the back and have patience and all will be good!

We held a reception at Waterdog Tavern after my Mom’s Memorial Service this past Saturday. I can’t say enough good things about this venue.
