So glad we came back in try this place again - it was SOOOOO good this time - I heard the owner of Klondike is running it now YUMMMM the food was great - the wait staff could use a little more experience and take better care of their customers - we overlooked this as we were so excited to finally have a good restaurant with good food again in this area.

Normally we just have breakfast but tonight we decided to try their dinner menu and we were not disappointed! We ordered the ribeye and chicken fried steak, all the trimmings. Everything was delicious!! The ribeye was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. The icing on the cake, so to speak, was the made to order apple crisp. Heavenly! Shout out to our server, Audra, who was amazing. I happened to have a free dessert coupon from The Klondike and she very happily took it and asked management if we could use it and they said yes!! Soo glad to see the owners of The Klondike take over here! The food has been great! (much better than the first reboot with the previous owners) So happy to have another "go-to" restaurant out here in Columbia County! Love the additional decor they've added in and the tweaks on the menu...much needed and appreciated! Good "home style" cooking is here again! I would like to suggest...*possibly looking into a dedicated fryer for GF fries and maybe...GF chicken strips! *having some vegan options like:-The Beyond Burger (or using Beyond Meat ground) -Vegan Cheese options (I know this is tricky if you don't use it super often, but if people know, people will come...something to consider. Reopened recently by new ownership. Excellent food and service. Was there during lunch but ordered breakfast. Got 2 scrambled eggs, 2 big sausage patties, chopped potatoes, toast. We came here when they first opened and the service was so slow. Tried it again tonight and I was impressed. Food was hot and came out fast. One of the best burgers I've had in a while. The food is on point! FINALLY they have acquired a head chef that gets the art of modern/traditional American fusion! Exactly what St. Helens needs because we are a fusion of tradicional and modern in this area now (even for those who want it "the old way" it's not, so embrace the new way and enjoy having the ability to go out to dinner, have a grocery store nearby, DRIVE THRU Starbucks or oh, oh, get Chinese DELIVERED!) All treats, and WCI is now another addition.I will go on about the food but first a little warning: SERVICE - the service is still lacking a bit - just on the weekend mornings. Our latest bad experience, servers were more interested in their side work and each other than us. Caveat: Minus 2 servers, Adara and Bernardo, both such great assets!Service improving a lot through! FOOD: As of the new executive chef several months ago, we haven't had a bad meal and we have had SEVERAL good/great ones! Highlights for us - BREAKFAST: breakfast wraps, eggs Benedict, simple bacon and eggs, biscuits and gravy, steak and eggs... Omelets and scrambles need a bit of work, sometimes coming out over cooked but you can send back if that happens.LUNCH & DINNER: Fireball burger, yum! Burgers are on point... Wait for it... the now have HANDCUT FRENCH FRIES!!! They are doing the old KLONDIKE fries... And they are TO DIE FOR! In fact, they have a lot of similar (same) type items... Crab cakes, fish and chips, so many good things to try! My favorite dinner is the Mushroom Pasta, OH MY GOODNESS OF ALL THINGS HOLY! This handmade pasta wrapped in a homemade sauce and fresh sautéed mushrooms (wish there were double the AMOUNT of shrooms, but that is just for my love of these, there is a good portion most of the time), is delicioso! It is not heavy like a fettuccine (which is also on point) but light and tastes so great! Then served with a piece of garlic toast (which they could cook a little less, many times its not quite overcooked but another 15 seconds and it would be, but still tasty). Try the pasta, you won't regret your choice!We want to try the meatloaf badly because it must be great, every time we order they have sold out. Can't wait to try. Every dinner so far, including my son's steak, had been worth the price. We are converts! At the grand reopening a few years (? Can't remember exactly) ago we had such high hopes and were so disappointed. We tried several times and the over priced food descriptions didn't match the food we got, the service was horrible and the kitchen staff sounded like a bad movie about verbal abuse. We had given up and as we drove by, day after day we would always say, bummer! If someone good could take over that kitchen and I could go in there and consult on high quality service, the parking lot would be jammed full of cars on the regular. And that bar is a gold mine. But alas no go. It just stayed empty and we were sad because we knew the potential...BUT NOW - I have taken down my bad review, and we try to eat there at least twice a week. We even do take out! Add delivery and oh Lordy! Lol. But seriously, a patio like the one at the Klondike would be DREAMY!! WCI - You are adding such a great vibe to ST. HELENS, keep up the great work! It is so nice to have another high quality, high end dinner restaurant around here and the diner experience is great too. We are so glad we decided to try this restaurant for breakfast in February! The food is excellent as is the service. We have gone there for breakfast several times as well as lunch and dinner and have been very pleased on each visit. They have a wonderful and huge bar that is open and airy, has lots of seating at tables and booths and some couches in front of a big fireplace. They have karaoke on Friday nights at 8 and have a few video lottery machines in the bar. The exterior from the road and the sign don't do justice to the wonderful updated restaurant. Give it a try! Came here late on a Sunday evening! I asked the waiter what he recommended. He recommended the pulled pork burger and the roasted pepper burger.
