Always great to come into town from the Red Dog, and have a bite at Walts! Dave's got a great place

While in Old Forge during preseason, Walt's Diner was open. I had eaten here previously and had good memories of this place. I truly enjoyed the E. Utica Greens, cooked perfectly and delicious. Even if all of the other restaurants we're open, this would be at the top of the list. My husband also enjoyed his meal. Service was good and this was a cozy and friendly place. More...

Fun stop for a meal on the way up into the mountains. If you're there for breakfast, be aware their pancakes are huge. 8 inches big!
.
Fun local bar as well as restaurant. Open in the winter when most places are closed.

The best place for breakfast and lunch in Old Forge. When everything else is closed you can count on Walt's to be open

Great service, great prices. Never been there before this morning employees work as a team to provide what they do. I'll be back.

After a day trip from Schenectady, through the Adirondack park, and back down through Cobleskill, we stopped in Old Forge for a place to eat. Walt's Diner, an unassuming little eatery in the middle of town, was what we found. It was right before closing time, as they only did breakfast and lunch, and there were a few people eating. We were greeted by the cook and a friendly waitress as we walked inside. There was a diner style counter and open grill and many tables along the walls and windows. We sat by the windows and ordered. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich with fries and my dining companion ordered the special of pulled pork on a hard roll. As the food cooked, we doodled on our placemats and discussed the events of the day. We could hear the cook and waitress complaining about another employee which was highly amusing and we smiled as locals came in for burgers and coffee. Our food came in no time and we ate with speedy glee, since it'd been since breakfast that we'd last eaten a meal. Our sandwiches were perfect and the fries were fresh cut and scrumptious. If ever I'm in Old Forge again, I'll be seeking out Walt's Diner again. More...

Best breakfast in town. I love their sausage and biscuits with gravy. Waiters and waitresses are always super pleasant. They also do catering for weddings and other events. If you are a fan of diners, this is the place to go. The atmosphere is great and location is in the heart of Old Forge. More...

Walt's has great food! But sadly, they don't serve breakfast all day - the #1 thing diners are supposed to do.

Good breakfast but the lunch portion size was lacking. If you go for breakfast you will be happy.

Everything you want from a diner. Great food (especially breakfast), fair prices, and friendly and quick service. You've got to try their grilled muffins!

We went on a very busy Sunday morning. The place was packed. Waited 2 MI Utes to be seated, coffee right away, ordered and breakfast came quickly. Service was great, food was great!
