About

Walsh Design is a full service design firm.

Do you need help telling your story, selling your products or services, or gaining support from the public for your cause? You’re not alone. As design consultants, we often hear from business owners or non-profit leaders that their current brand identity, collateral, packaging and miscellaneous graphics do not adequately convey what they offer and they don’t know how to fix it.

Q&As

Your site, especially your home page, must engage so that your visitors want to stay on your site, and in the end, connect with you.

Your website serves as a visual communicator sending a message about your company, your company's personality, what you do, and your goals.

That is accomplished through your logo, visuals, fonts, colors, the organization of the site and a very clear message.

I want to know the why of your business - what is your purpose? I want to know how you differentiate yourself from your competition.
I will always address your brand/logo. Communication about a company always begins with your brand. Your brand is not the just your logo.
It is all of the elements that go into the messages about your company – your personality, how you interact with your customers, your values, your logo, fonts and colors. Those element are consistent throughout your entire site.

My process is to study all of the information I have collected about you and your company.
I will create a written contract to describe my process.

Here is an example of a logo process:
My process is consistent. I look at the marketplace to see how your competitors are viewed by potential clients and I then look at how you can stand out and yet look like you belong in that market. You want to be the stand out.

I will provide you with 3-5 distinct directions from which a single direction is chosen. Once the direction is selected, I refine and show options for that single direction. This process also includes how color can be used to communicate your message. The colors selected are the direction color will take for all of your marketing. Consistency throughout all your collateral and your website is critical.

Our clients always play a part in the complete process.

I need all of your background information (see above)
What are your goals? I want to know who your competitors are and why a client should choose you instead of them.
Many times I will provide you with a questionnaire so I can really understand what you want to communicate to your customers.
Your budget expectations.

I have a passion to create success for my clients. That is my key mission.

TESTIMONIAL (Tom Douglas, Chef): Logo for Tom, and logo and packaging for his Rub with Love packaging.
“20 years ago when I went blindly into the retail marketplace without a clue, brand, or plan, Miriam at Walsh design was there to save the day. We now have a multi million dollar business including fabulous brand recognition and loyalty. We are now the worlds best selling salmon rub.”

I was raised in the design business. I worked for my father who was one of the most respected designers in Seattle. When he died I jumped in and started working with the clients we were already working with.

For more than three decades, Miriam has been a trend-setter in the communications business in Seattle, winning more awards and making her clients more successful than just about anyone else in the business. Many of the iconic logos that you’ve connected with, loved, and shopped for years —including Tom Douglas’s line of “Rub With Love” products, Fran’s Chocolates, Chukar Cherries, Zing Bars—are examples of what happens when a wonderful product meets design genius. And that’s just a fraction of the companies she’s branded.

She is one of those people who is happiest when she is designing —logos, websites, marketing collateral, huge trade show booths, memorable posters, books, signage. Every time she thinks about “retiring,” she gets called back on an exciting project, and she admits she loves the adrenaline of tackling new challenges! (And she’s never missed a deadline.)

Whether you have a specific project—large or small---or whether you need someone with the experience to help manage a complex marketing project involving many vendors, please consider Miriam. You’ll find her to be delightful to work with, and available to partner with you in making magic (and money) for you and your clients.
