I'm writing this on behalf of my mom's dog, a skittish maltese that is afraid of other dogs and considers itself a human. I recommended Chris to my mom on behalf of a friend and he's been awesome with her dog, Bebe . He's very attentive to details and has done exactly what we've asked of him. Chris is kind, caring, supportive, engaging, loving, and gentle.  More importantly, he knows the value of being a trusted companion and will adjust to the needs of your pet.  Chris also pays attention to the details.  He will make sure to know your little pet--from the treats and the normal routine. You will not have to worry even for a minute when you are out of town because Chris will have everything under control. Chris is a reliable dog caretaker and is my first choice for my pup, Happy. Happy is a very small Maltese and can be very skittish around other dogs on walks, but Chris always comforts him and even helps him socialize with dogs of similar size. Chris is my go-to person when I need my dog, Cooper, to be taken care of - whether it be for a weekend while I'm away or for a brief walk in middle of the day. Cooper is a fairly large black lab who is kindhearted and sweet but a bit uncomfortable around most people, especially when he isn't too familiar with them. As a result, he showcases his anxiety by being a tad exuberant, which due to his size, can at times scare people - which, in turn makes him more anxious and so on and so forth.I've used several other walkers in the past and one way I can tell how Coop felt with them is by gauging his energy level when I come home from work - being in an excited state meant he wasn't comfortable; being a bit more tranquil meant he felt at ease. It was rare for him to be in the latter state with most walkers, which was a bit worrisome for me. But with Chris, I always came home to him being very relaxed. Chris handled himself very well every time I've seen him interact with Coop. He never responded to Coop's behavior by matching his emotional state. Rather, Chris always remained calm and steady and knew how to exert dominance in an appropriate way, which Coop responded well to. Additionally, he was always very thorough in asking questions to make sure he understood all of Coop's needs as well as understanding what I was and wasn't comfortable with. I never have to worry about Coop when I leave him in Chris' care as I can fully trust that he cares for him as much as I do - well, almost as much. I used Chris as my primary dogwalker all of last year through an app that won't be mentioned. Chris consistently went above and beyond what he was asked to do. Often times I found that he would fill up Zoey's water bowl when she was extra thirsty from the walk. I can tell he genuinely cared about Zoey and my concerns with leaving her with somebody I didn't know. We have been using Chris to walk our dog, Oscar, when we are out of town or if we can't be at home in time for a few months now. Oscar is 12+ years old and is very wary of strangers but he took a liking to Chris almost immediately. Since we have to let a dog walker into our home, we always make sure to conduct a "trial" walk with new walkers while we are home to see if we are comfortable hiring them and leaving them keys.Chris was very understanding of the needs of our elderly dog (he has to walk slowly, has trouble with stairs, and hates the rain for starters) and made it easy for us to trust him. Chris also goes out of his way to make sure our dog is settled in after each walk. Oscar is starting to lose his eyesight and is very jumpy when people enter the house or if he hears loud noises. Chris makes sure to enter our home quietly and goes out of his way to avoid startling Oscar.We have been through many dog walkers and, although they have been good, hiring Chris to be our regular walker has been the hire we were most comfortable with.
