Averse training methods using force with prong collars and electronic collars. They outright flatly refused to use other techniques without force when I directly asked them. These clowns are outdated and immoral. Look elsewhere. More...

I contacted Laurin Fulton recently about my dog Summer. We had a lot of construction going on this summer, I was distracted, and Summer took her mile as a result. Her leash walking was horrible. Lots of pulling and reactivity. I bit the bullet and had Laurin come 5 days in a row and then I was trained. Now Summer and I are on our own. Laurin was excellent. Her training is well worth any cost. Now a week later Summer will walk on a loose leash consistently. Yes, there are still food pellets continuing to shape her behaviour but she knows what to do and I know what to do so we are making great progress. I am thrilled. Laurin will be my go to trainer for any other issues that crop up. I have done classes before but never private training. It is such a focussed way of making great progress. Now, after hanging out with Laurin 5 days straight Summer misses her and whines for a bit around the time she would come over. Such is the bond! I really can't praise Laurin highly enough! More...

I don't typically write reviews but I believe WWMO deserves this!

I just finished my last lesson with Carly, I did the 6 lesson package and was it worth it.

I was really struggling with my (at time) 10 month old GSD Tango, now year old. Tango had another dog come at her back in December and hadn't been the same since. She became super reactive to the point that she would flip out in fear and show aggression to any dog she wasn't familiar with in a 50-100ft perimeter. Walking became very difficult and I felt defeated as our walks became unenjoyable for both of us. Once I started working with Carly after each lesson I noticed a significant difference in Tango, Our walks became enjoyable and relaxing and stopped causing anxiety and stress for both Tango and I!

During our final session we were able to do an off leash introduction to both of Carly's dogs, one she had met only on leash before than and the other never before. We were both confident enough to let her with the other dogs meet and play off leash which was huge success for us! She had a few moment of fear but would acknowledge all of our corrections and adjusted super quick to than wanting to play and interact. Tango has always been protective of me and even allowed the other dogs to come up and say hi to me and get pets which before she would have never let another dog close to me. It has been amazing to be able to trust her recall with not only E-collar but having a strong and instant verbal recall which is almost perfect!

I 100% recommend WWMO to anyone who I have come across looking for training. I can also say that trusting anyone with Tango is a real struggle for me with her being reactive, and have now been able to book with Carly for boarding for when I go on vacation. This is also such a relief as I know she is in good hands that I can trust and know she will be well taken care of and not have to worry when I am away.

Words cannot express how grateful I am for the work that Carly has done and helping me build a stronger and more reliable relation ship with Tango.

Thank you WWMO and Carly for everything!

I cannot recommend WWMO enough. I recently moved to Ottawa with my Basenji pup Aleu and any connections that I had to dog industry professionals were left in Toronto. As an experienced dog owner, it was extremely important for me to have a professional, caring, kind, competent, experienced, and reliable dog trainer in my corner to help with my dog.

I once before had the pleasure of connecting with Emma virtually, and she was the best at helping me choose the proper breed, give me tips on how to pick my puppy, and give me some starter tips and tricks. I now have the most amazing dog, so I knew that WWMO will be where I will go for my training needs now that I was in Ottawa.

And then I met Tiffany and that was the best thing that could have happened to me and Aleu. Tiffany was everything that I ever wanted in a dog trainer. She was very professional, very responsive, friendly, caring, ready to answer any of my questions, and just amazing at explaining things. Tiffany was working with me just as much as she was working with Aleu. I was absolutely amazed at how Tiffany was not simply showing me a standard set of rules or a set training program, but she carefully put together methods and techniques that were suitable specifically for me and my dog. She took her time to work with me, understand me, my previous experiences, my dog and the specifics of her breed.

Tiffany and the rest of the team are extremely responsible with the tools that they use. Tiffany made sure that I understood all the basics and taught me how to use every single tool. I noticed that Tiffany also didn't push me to use any tools that I either didn't need or didn't feel comfortable with - and that is rare with even really good professional balanced dog trainers. Tiffany also made these magical summaries of every lesson that we had and sent them to me so I can follow them when practicing on my own.

Overall, WWMO has amazing packages for various training needs and they are definitely worth every penny. The process of getting help was also very quick, easy and hassle free.

My dog training path with Aleu is only at the beginning, but I have all the tools I need to make sure I am successful. I have the utmost confidence in my abilities and that I will get where I want to with my dog. I also know that I have lifetime support from Tiffany and the rest of the team at WWMO. I am beyond grateful that I got the chance to work with them.

I have been following WWMO's Instagram account for a couple of years before moving to Quebec in January. I found Emma because of her two standard schnauzers George and Crickett. I saw first-hand how she has trained them and how she has successfully worked with her BNT clients over time. I have had a standard schnauzer for five years, and I thought to myself I would contact her if I moved closer. In January I contacted WWMO. Emma first assessed the dog a few weeks before I dropped her off for training. While my dog listened to the basic commands, we have had constant issues with recall and meeting strangers on-leash. She evaluated my dog's behavior and looked at her if she was a good fit for e-collar training. Altogether, my dog stayed with Emma for four weeks in March/April. Via Instagram and phone, I constantly received updates. It was a joy to see how my dog responded to Emma and her training. When I picked her up, I received an introduction to handling her as well. I received training videos and homework. I was doubtful if I would to be able to walk my dog off-leash which was the ultimate goal. I thought this could never be accomplished. Boy, was I wrong. It was the best decision I made. Not only does the dog walk off-leash now, but she is less stressed and anxious. She responds well to other dogs and people while on a walk. But I have to work with her consistently, so we don't slip back into old habits. Regarding issues after the initial training, Emma is always there if I have questions. She makes a point to respond quickly — either on social media or by phone. She follows up by Skype if problems should arise. Or you can simply participate in pack walks, summer socials or group classes/workshops. Emma always tells you like it is, she will correct your behavior and not hold back. Keep in mind that she also trains people! Zilly and I are giving her five stars. More...

We do both pack walks and did the 6 session private training package for our Goldendoodle Puppy. Best dog we've ever had. We started early and it paid off immensely . We get compliments on her behaviour almost daily and she is still just 7 months old! We continue to work and train even though our sessions are over - they taught us so well. It was work - both for myself as a person who grew up with dogs thinking I knew a lot and for my partner who has never had a pup. I learned sososo much and I tell everyone about our methods (positive reinforcement). Thank you WWMO :) More...

We could not have asked for a better company to walk our dog Charlie. She is very timid around strangers but our walker MC created a bond with Charlie that was just as strong as ours. I’ve never seen Charlie so excited to see someone other than Mom and Dad before. We have now moved onto another city but hope to find a dog walking service as amazing as WWMO! More...

I had initially contacted them when I was looking for a professional dog walker for my dog Quinn. I had looked at various services throughout Ottawa and their site as well as core values spoke to me the most. They offered the service to bring my dog on an off leash group walk to the dog park which was key for me because I thought that was the best type of walk for Quinn. Furthermore, the dog walker was a dog trainer and reinforced the correct behaviors which was evident in how my dog behaved on walks and at the park. They were professional, insured and very pleasant to deal with. We had a great experience with the dog walking service and I had built a good connection to this company. A year after I got Quinn, I got another dog named Stella; a Coonhound. To my surprise, this dog was much more challenging than Quinn; I will admit that I was not prepared for the challenges a hound dog would bring to us. Unlike Quinn, we were unable to leave her off leash because she would continuously run away and follow her nose. Her recall was not reliable. We could not trust Stella off leash which was very sad to me because Quinn lived a fully, off leash life. We are active people who walk our dogs regularly, we got on hikes, our parents own a farm and Stella was on leash lock down unlike her sister Quinn who lived a free life.Because of my previous experience with WWMO, I contacted them regarding this problem I had with Stella. I was familiar with the dog trainers, I liked their values, the service they provided and they were willing to work with me. Although it was clear to me that sending Stella for training was going to be a big investment, it was worth it to us...To be able to give your dog a free life, without the constant stress and worry of her running away was completely worth it. After all, your dog can be a 15 year commitment. Although I know the basics of dog training and I am willing to work hard at it, I knew that I did not have the skills it took to help Stella with her overbearing nose. They suggested training Stella on an E-collar and I agreed this would be the best option for her. She ended up being with Carolina for about 3 weeks, 24/7 in her care. When Stella came back to us, the difference in her behavior off leash, and overall behavior, was night and day. Most importantly, Stella gained full freedom of her life. She is able to walk off leash anywhere, she is better behaved in our home, and she listens to us almost better than Quinn. Our stress level around this dog decreased and our relationship with her improved substantially. We could not be happier with the investment we made with her. Thank you CarolinaWe know we can contact Carolina or Emma at any point with questions, request a training session, talk about little issues that arise with both dogs and we know we will be well cared by them for the remaining of their dog lives. Training does not ever stop and we know we have help whenever we will need it. I am truly thankful for the service they provided More...

We were so nervous to leave our Dutch shepherd as he can be difficult and hard to get along with other humans but Emma was confident she could handle him. She had him for about 6 days and he was just the happiest pup when we picked him up. She kept us in the loop throughout the week and we could see he went out for lots of walks and she even worked on some training. So glad we found her and we could enjoy our family vacation knowing our fur baby was well taken care of. Thank you for everything, we couldn’t be happier and we will be returning to her services most definitely!!! Thanks Emma!! More...

Walk With Me Ottawa (WWMO) what an amazing company!Originally we choose Walk With Me Ottawa (WWMO) for their boarding services, we had a two week vacation planned and wanted our dog to be as comfortable as possible while we were away. WWMO provided the experience we were looking for, which is an in-home boarding service that is safe and our dog would enjoy. The most important part for us, was that a boarding program be NOTHING like a kennel. We had kept our previous dogs at a kennel when we were away on holiday and our dogs never came back the same. We started to feel out the company by starting with weekly group walks 3 times a week. Emma and company were professional and aligned us with a new walker, Megan. After a few weeks we could see the positive difference the walks were making on Henry, so we decided to move forward with the boarding services while we were on vacation. That’s when we inquired about the Board and Train (BNT) to see the difference between the Boarding program Vs. the BNT program. With all the information and discussions with Emma we decided it was best for us and our dog to do a Board and Train (BNT) for the two weeks we were on vacation. Our dog Henry was just 9 months old when we engaged Walk With Me Ottawa. From our perspective Henry listened very well to all the commands he was taught, however he was NOT always reliable. Henry would choose when he was going to listen and when he was going to ignore commands. Henry is very food driven so our counters were visited by him a little too often when we weren’t looking. We also have young children and elder family members, it was important that the excitement jumping come to an end. Henry is 70 pounds! And he is very playful and thinks everyone is his playmate. We wanted him to be better trained for basic obedience and off leash reliability. What we did not know before the BNT with WWMO was that our dog was doing as he wished all the time (at home, on walks everywhere!). He was the boss and he tricked us into thinking he was a “good boy”, because he would listen 75% of the time, and we thought his age must be the only thing that’s holding him back. Boy we were wrong! Henry has learned so much from training with Carolina. Carolina is an excellent trainer. She is kind, patient and you can tell she loves what she does. She worked with Henry more than we anticipated. Henry is now obedient, well mannered, and overall a very happy dog. He is amazing at his recall, he walks right beside us in heel without pulling on the leash, and is always looking to please his family. He has stopped jumping on our family members when we come into the house when he is very excited. He is able to sit at his place mat for long periods of time, even when I had 5 children running about, he stayed at his mat and just watched. He is more and more reliable and loves to please. Our overall experience with Walk With Me Ottawa has been nothing less than amazing, They are professionals, they communicate clearly and set realistic expectations. They under promise and over deliver! The Board and Train program (BNT), has by far exceeded our expectations. Carolina is an excellent trainer, she has been in contact with us since Henry has come home to check up on his progress, and our progress too! Carolina is very helpful and accessible when we have questions, which was extremely helpful as both us the Owner and Henry the dog have learned new ways to communicate to each other. We wouldn’t have been able to get to this point with Henry if it wasn’t for Carolina and Walk With Me Ottawa. We would recommend this company to anyone. Next time we get a new puppy, the first stop will be the BNT with WWMO to work with the caring individuals who take care of our dogs as if they were their own. It’s amazing to see the joy in Henry’s eyes, and the confidence in himself now! Henry's Family More...

Our chocolate lab puppy had already received some obedience training and had a solid foundation, but we were still experiencing major issues. He had no impulse control. He was impossible to walk- he was highly reactive and played very rough with other dogs. We were contemplating if we could make it work with him. We struggled so much finding him a walker. We used two different dog walking companies, both of which refused to continue with Our dog as a client. His previous trainer recommended we contact Emma Murdock, the owner of Walk with me Ottawa. He spoke very highly of her training techniques, knowledge and company. Our dog was highly energetic and would never settle. Although he had the obedience foundation he would only listen when he saw fit. Since his board and train he is a completely different dog. He is still highly energetic as chocolate labs are... but he is much calmer and actually listens. We are able to relax with him, play with him, walk him and enjoy life with our pup. He goes on pack walks 5 days a week and loves his walker Megan and his pack! Since starting the pack walks he has learned to play more gently and matures day by day.I highly recommend walk with me Ottawa! We heard of Walk With Me Ottawa through google as we typed in “Ottawa dog walking” and through their website we found the board and train service. It was perfect as we were going on vacation that year and after reading many amazing reviews and taking with Emma, we knew it was a perfect fit. Winston was at the Board and Train for 3 weeks with Carolina who is amazing! She is so sweet and made sure all of our questions were answered before hand. During his stay, she posted lots of videos and pictures of him on her Instagram account which was so nice, because we were able to see his progress and it was the highlight of my boyfriend and I’s days since we missed him! If I had any questions, I could just text her and she would always answer very quickly. Very professional and friendly. We wanted to get Winston trained for basic obedience. He pulled on the leash, would try to bolt out the door when we opened it and his recall was very weak. Now Winston is such a gentleman! He waits for me to give the release command “break” after I open any door for him to go through, knows how to loose leash walk, his recall is amazing which means more freedom for him during our hikes and he’s just overall much more polite and listens to us. I recommend WWMO to anyone who’s looking for help with their dog training. We now also use their dog walking/pack walks service which means he gets to go on an hour long adventure walk with other dogs and that way he isn’t home alone all day while I’m at work. When I get home he’s still pooped out, which is great! We love WWMO and everyone is so friendly. Highly recommend!Emily + Winston More...

Winnie and I cannot speak more highly of walk with me Ottawa. From my initial email to Emma I knew I struck gold. Our most recent trainer/walker/boarder and best friend to winnie Carolina has been an absolute blessing. Winnie wakes up on days she is going Carolina and runs right to her crate excited for her day. Since joining Carolina Winnie loves to spend time with other dogs and learn/reinforce her training. We hired Walk With Me to help us get our puppy Karma under control. Karma is a big dog for her age, and we realized that she needed behavioural correction as she is still not done growing. The minute the girls came to our place, Karma responded to them. It was like watching Caesar Milan right in front of our eyes. Karma has had 4 sessions, and has 2 remaining. We have been given homework to do with Karma, and it is like we have a new dog. Walk With Me really gets to understand each dog's personality, and caters the training accordingly. I knew in my gut to hire them when I came across their page, and I am so incredibly happy that I listened to my instinctual feeling. I highly recommend hiring Walk With Me to help. you with all of your dog behavioural needs.
