Ken provides a great service! We have had him cat-sit for us a few times, and each time we have been very happy with the results.

Ken and his team have been walking over puppy 4-5 days per week since we brought her home a month ago. He is reliable, transparent, and fairly priced. We are so glad we found Wag the Tail and hope to use them for years to come! More...

I switched from a previous service and have been using wag the tail for several months now. With my previous service I heard several issues brought up from concerned neighbors. I found wag the tail and met with them for a consult and right off the bat could tell that they cared about dogs but knew what they were doing as well. I was very hesitant as I had a negative experience with my previous service and obviously want the best for my little pup. I am beyond happy with how they operate and with their service. More importantly though is Sadie is happy and loves them! Highly recommend for anyone with a dog that may be a little nervous about leaving them with someone else. Wag the tail will put your mind at ease More...

Q&As

I love being entrusted in caring for our client's furry family members. We'd be remiss in saying that most times it's the furry family member that gives us more love than we think we should be receiving. Over time, our clients see how much their furry family member loves us - especially through the amount of kisses/licks and happy tail wags that we receive. One client in particular was surprised in how much affection their dog gave us as they've never seen it give out so much kisses as it gave us. We truly love animals. Our owner volunteer, as much as he can, with PAWS Chicago. He looks to support rescue facilities as much as he is able. All of his adult life he has sought out canines and felines from shelters and has adopted them from these rescue/shelter facilities. On our website, there is a picture that states, "I rescued my human". We am humbled by love we receive from each and every creature that we've been given the privilege of caring for and strive to do our very best in keep the creature safe, secure, and comforted/loved.

Having adopted my current canine, I came up with the name of the business - Wag The Tail, as he is always wagging his tail when he knows we are going outside for a walk. I was working in the IT field until I was laid off during the Great Recession, in March 2010. Needing to have an income and link it with something that I care about was an easy decision. I've had pets my entire life - from turtles, iguana, rabbits, mice, ferret, cats and dogs - I've been well trained in the needs and care of creatures that I've adopted.

My attention to detail in caring for their furry family member. During our meet-and-greet, I take copious notes on how you care for your furry family member. I strive to be the best substitute for you. I make sure that I maintain the same walk route that you perform. Canines are creatures of habit. They like being in familiar areas. They may already be stressed because you aren't walking them, so by keeping them in their familiar scents helps to reduce that anxiety. Also, by providing treats, commands, and the like - just as you do, helps to make sure that your furry family member and I will connect very easily. Our company policy is that we provide individual attention to our clients. This means that if you have just one furry family member it is cared for, walked and treated all by itself. We do not walk or care for multiple dogs at the same time. The only time that we may support multiple dogs is if your home has multiple dogs. We won't bring a stranger dog(s) with us while we walk your dog.

Services

For pet sitting we visit your home either 3- or 4-times per day. This is set by you, the client. We do not provide overnight stays at this time.

As an example of a 3x per day visit schedule - it would be something like this:
8-9am breakfast visit
4-5pm dinner visit
9-10pm bedtime visit

We offer package costs for 3- to 4-times per day visits. On those days that require less than the package deals, then each visit would be assessed it's usual rate.

We offer two duration visits, either a 15-minute or less or a 16- to 30-minute duration visit.

On our visits we only tend to your canine(s). You'll not find us walking your dog in a herd.

Pricing is provided in the detailed area of our profile.

For our feline clients we provide a minimum of a 30-minute visit. During this visit we provide food, clean and refresh water dish(es), clean and refresh litter box(es), and cuddle/play time.

Many of our clients only require once per day visits. We can provide 2x a day, if needed.

Visits are usually performed in the mid-afternoons.
