We have been to other dog training classes over the years with our previous dogs and never found them very engaging or beneficial over what we could do at home ourselves. Mel's classes are completed different, she is fantastic and is very knowledgeable about dog behavior using fun and rewarding training methods. I started attending Mel's classes when my first dog was entering his adolescence stage, from the first class he and I were both hooked! My new puppy has recently graduated from puppy classes and moved on to 'big school'. The focus & attention Mel gives each of the dogs and their owners coupled with her intuitive understanding of individuals learning aptitudes is as if you've had your own 1:1 session each time. Both my dogs completed the puppy course in 2015 and we enjoyed it so much we are still training with Mel in 2017! Both myself and my dogs have grown in confidence under Mel's watchful eye. She is a great ambassador to force free training. Ahead of Astrid starting puppy training school with Mel in November we wanted to get some help with a few potential issues that we didn't feel confident with on our own. Mel came to our house for a 1:1 session and it has made an enormous difference, she was able to spot the things we were doing wrong straight away and help us start to address them. She is hugely intuitive about both dog and owners and gave excellent advice on bite inhibition, making the crate an exciting place to be, showing us how to do training for some commands in the right way amongst many other things. We highly recommend Mel if there's anything you need help with for your new puppy and to get you on the right track before training school. Can't wait now for the classes to start in November. We have an 11 week old border collie puppy who has been a bit of a handful with some extreme behaviour at times! Prior to starting her classes with Mel we booked a 1 to 1 session for help. Mel has been a wonderful saviour!. Our puppy is now learning and behaving well since Mel taught us how to teach and respond to her. Just 48hrs after this session all is going well. Mel has a lovely way of explaining and teaching and with aids for the dog and lots of suggestions. Her knowledge and obvious qualifications make her an ideal support for any dog owner. A huge thank you to Mel for her training sessions with my reactive dogs.Short and achievable training sessions continue at home and there is a huge improvement in both dogs.
