Owner Susan Bourgoin graduated from the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies in Daytona Beach Fl in 1995, and is fully trained in all aspects of photographic work, using high end professional camera for the best images. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I started my career as a classically trained chef, graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park NY, before graduating from the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies. I shoot lots of food, but also love to shoot pets and products and weddings as well!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Number of shots,, amount of time needed, final use of images, vertical or horizontal format.
What do you love most about your job?
I have been obsessed with food publications for most of my life, and this does not end. I still spend weekends looking at my favorite magazines to inspire me for my next job. When I am shooting I know that I was made for the job I am doing, I believe that I am the best person for the job I have accepted, and I give it my best each time. I know that I am in the right profession because I am energized after each shoot!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I enjoy different assignments and situations, and varied work. Owning my own business is the best way to insure that I take only the jobs that suit me best, and gives me the flexibility to enjoy varied assignments.
