Bought a birthday cake from them this weekend and it was terrific! Almond cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting, so fresh and so delicious. I live in Catonsville and found out about this place randomly when I wanted to get my donut craving satisfied. If you are in the area, you know there's not many donut places in Catonsville other than the big chains and I enjoy trying local donut shops. Luckily, arbutus is a mere 5-10 minutes away. Unfortunately parking can be difficult because they don't have a parking lot and you have to rely on street parking. Village Junction Bakery Cafe is one of those places that I knew I was going to like when I walked in. How could I not? I love sweets and the store is full of them.They have donuts, bagels, cinnamon buns, cookies and much more. My favorite donut to get here is the one that looks like a cinnamon bun. It's absolutely delicious. Their bagels are also pretty good, I usually get the jalapeño cheddar. They also have coffee with different flavor shots. My wedding cake came out great! Beth was very easy to work with - from scheduling a tasting to finalizing the design to arranging a drop-off time at the venue. Also, the price was by far the best of nearly a dozen other bakeries that I looked into and the taste was great! The bakery is a quaint place. They seem to be family owned and popular in the community. The cafe area isnt so bog, but that only adds to the charm making it feel like a more personal space for diners. Their food is freshly made everyday and they have a pleasant variety of coffee and standard variety of tea. The only real downside I found was the parking. As the bakery is on the street of a residential area, there isn't a lot of parking when divided up between them and the other shops on their street. This is the first time I've been back since the change in ownership and I can honestly say that it hasn't changed and maybe even improved a bit! I rolled in at 6:05 AM on the dot for a dozen donuts for work. Everything was coming out fresh and it was everything I could do to keep from DROOLING. I picked up 3 glazed, 3 chocolate top with sprinkles, 3 cinnamon sugar twists, and 3 pumpkin spice... AND to top off a dozen they give you a 13th FREE! I chose their classic sugar dusted marshmallow. Semi-last minute, I placed an order for a birthday cake. It needed to be special. And I was skeptical ordering from a bakery because ive had experiences with other bakeries and the cakes being dry. I love this little bakery. I went with a coworker and I can't wait to go back. The donuts are topped with fun ingredients like different cereals so it's eye catching. Great little bakery cafe located in the heart of Arbutus. I've been keeping an eye on this place after seeing so many great reviews. My daughter and I stopped by this morning for a little breakfast date. She had a sprinkled donut and I had the cheddar ranch bagel toasted with cream cheese and a large coffee. Came to under $5! I live right down the street from here, so I walk down frequently. First of all, they have great coffee flavors (not syrup, although they have plenty if you like them) such as German chocolate and a banana flavor that's really good (the exact flavor name evades me). Their bagels are also a favorite of mine. They are unique enough to taste different from Panera or other chain bagels; they're a little more buttery, which I think really sets them apart in a good way. I can't comment much on the pastries as I'm not a huge sweets fan, but they're frequently ordered while I'm in there so they're most likely great as well. Overall, great food, coffee and service, and it's my local go-to.

TIPS: I guess I'm not the only one who really Like a their bagels, because they go FAST. The earlier the better for those. Also, seating is a little tight, but it's still cozy and they have books and board games to play for free. More...

This is a great local spot for coffee, fresh made pastries, and light lunch. They do specials daily and have them on a white board when you come in. The prices aren't bad: A large bowl of chili and cornbread was $8, pastries are around $2 each (and they're quite large!) and lattes average out at $4. Overall, you're getting a better quality than you would at a Starbucks at a slightly lower price.
They have a rewards punch card for coffees if you go regularly, and the staff makes an effort to chat and get to know you.
Tip: If you want to spend time in the cafe, avoid Sunday mornings. There is limited inside seating and it gets fairly crowded. More...

We finally went to this very local to us bakery we had heard about from neighborhood friends. We were there late morning on a Saturday and they had sold out of bagels so I'm going to assume they are very popular! Hopefully we will get some next time. We ended up getting a vegetarian omlette cup, a honey bun sort of thing, a marshmallow donut and scones. We took it to go and they heated up the omlette cup and sent it along with a fork and knife which was great. (Here I will admit we were going on a day trip so we would be eating in the car so this was super convenient!) This place is just lovely in every way. I live just across the street from it and can say I'm addicted now. The service is wonderful, the people are so sweet. The goods are DELICIOUS! Ah I could go on and on about how perfect they are, perfect size, perfect sweetness & richness, perfect texture, perfect taste, everything. And it's all amazingly priced!!
