After researching literally 100+ photographers in the NYC area, my fiance and I came across Vik M and fell in love with his photography and creative eye. We reviewed hundreds of other engagement photo galleries, and Vik's had the perfect balance of color saturation, artistic feel, and emotion. His pricing is very reasonable given his level of talent -- many other photographers of his caliber were charging multiples of his rate. Vik shot our "Sunday Sessions" and was so easy to work with -- from our initial call, to scheduling, to the day of. He has a super calming presence that made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and provides enough direction to make the photos look great but still natural. We chose to shoot in Dumbo, which is an area he's very familiar with, so he was able to point us to some hidden spots with awesome backgrounds we wouldn't have known ourselves. Vik delivered our photos right on time, and we are so in love with our photos, which we've used throughout our wedding save the dates and website. My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Vik on our wedding, as well as for a Sunday Session. My husband I are usually uncomfortable in front of a camera, but Vik was able to put us at ease so that we could be entirely in the moment and focus on each other. We loved working with Vik! He did a Sunday Session for us, and also shot our wedding as well. Other than his beautiful photos, what we loved about Vik was his calm energy and collaborative nature. Vik is an incredibly talented photographer who also happens to be one of the nicest and most genuine people you will ever meet. We found Vik through another recommendation and could not be more thankful that he was the one to photograph our wedding. Can't say enough about Vik's professionalism, talent, and demeanor. From start to finish, he cared about what we cared about -- whatever was important to us about the day is what he wanted to capture. In fact, as it turned out, it wasn't just one day. We'd initially planned to do a whole morning of Hindu wedding ceremonies, followed by another full-blown wedding and reception at night, and he was willing to make it work (even though some photographers weren't). When we decided to split it up into two days later on, he made that work too, no questions asked. Whatever we needed, he was willing. And he was great to deal with throughout -- responsive and thoughtful professionally, good-natured and warm as a person.

And most importantly, he took two days of stunning, natural, beautiful photos that we'll treasure forever. He has a wonderful eye not just for light and color, but for personality and emotion. He captured the organic love and joy of our wedding so fully and perfectly. And you barely notice him. Outside of the few compulsory posed shots -- which he kept to a minimum and took care of quickly -- he blended in, documenting everything without interrupting anything. He got shots of everything and everyone we wanted him to, and lots of things we hadn't even thought of.

Simply put, it was a pleasure. Wonderful work, low-maintenance and low-stress, beyond fair value, and overall Vik is among the small handful of people we'll always be grateful to for making our wedding so memorable. More...

I looked at numerous photographers before deciding on Vik Photography and I had such a difficult time making a decision because so many photographers seemed to have such similar styles and nothing truly stood out as being the perfect match for us. Right away after looking through Vik's archives, I could tell he had an artist's eye and took so much pride in capturing the story of the couple's day, and not just taking photos. When I took a look at his new style of wedding albums, I was blown away by the mastery used in arranging the photos and the care taken in adding in the corresponding text. Vik truly looks at his work as a craft and not just a profession and he is so easy to work with. He is efficient and sticks to a schedule, while also allowing you to add in whatever creative touches you're hoping for. I feel so lucky to have a wedding album that I enjoy looking through over and over and I am so glad we went with our gut feeling to choose Vik because we couldn't be happier with the images he produced and the experience he created for us. If you're reading this because you're searching for a wedding photographer I don't need to tell you how stressful that process can be so if you've landed on Vik's page there's no need to go any further.
